Last night was a first for me. I've chased p51's to the deck compressing hit x at 500 mph 200 feet above ground and never ripped the wings. Last night I ripped them off in a split s at less than 400 and not even fully blacked out. Last night, with drop tanks disabled most places, I was carrying more fuel, so I guess that could do it? I know for a short period, AW had a spit model with loose wings, but here, I didn't think it was possible to rip the wings off a spit. Apparently, it is :D

Never in a spit IX, i've done it several times in a spit 14 though.

yes.

Yes, but not while flying one.

Had you been shot? Maybe when they model damage to the wings, they lower the amount of stress they can take. (This is just a guess, I have no idea if they do that.)

Two or three times, was always dives from 20k+ and over 75% fuel.

Yeah I've managed to do that, pretty difficult though. I've done it in a desperate defensive move that would get black out going and the plane all squirrelly, then hit x in B/O to get back on the straight and level and the wings rip.

Yup been there... I do think fuel load has something to do with it... Its like pulling a high G turn in a P51 with 2x1000 lb bombs on the wings... They will just fall right off... Amt of fuel at the time could have something to do with it... Best way is to test it... Take 25%-50%-75% and so on... See if that makes the difference...
