My mobo is dead, so I have to find a new one. While I was doing that, I got myself a new P4 1.8Ghz CPU. Now I need a 478 board that can handle it, AND fit in my case. I need to know what the maximum size that my box can hold is considering that I have a 305mm X 190mm mobo in there right now. Do I need to get one exactly the same size, or can there be some variation, and if so how much?

Motherboards fit according to a 'form.' Any ATX form Motherboard will fit in any ATX form case. Everything lines up all the time...
Good luck getting things going!

What the heck is microATX then?

MicroATX boards will almost always fit in a full size ATX case.  Picture a full size ATX board with 5 PCI slots and cut the bottom 2 off.  That gives you a board about 75% the size of a regular ATX board.

Clockwise from top left (on table)
Mid size atx , Micro atx (old E machine), Mid size , and full tower
I myself perfer mid size atx cases (especially for gaming pc ) because they Breath better then the micro cases and they have lots of room for multiable hard drives, full size video cards
I dont buy the shortened back cases (these have that plate over the screws for the adaptor cards )  and the lower cd rom slot will bump into the mainboard sometimes.

I agree!  Which one host Net Aces?  Also, the open floppy drive won't be good on your micro cleaning wise.
