Dont go trading that geforce3 in.
I was building a puter for somebody else and swapped out my old g3 to see if I got an improvement. Went from 44 in the tower, to 22. In the plane I get 30-75 (pegged) with my g3. 25 max with the 5200.
Ugghh. I think I will keep my old card till I find a used geforce 4 ti 4600
btw
pent4 2.8ghz
512 megs ram

rtc, look for my nvida users thread. for some reason the okay nvidia cards rock in ah2

Hap you ever have problems with that sound card? I have a santa cruz and it seems to sound a little muted once in awhile.
-
no probs at all. just make sure mic isn't muted in its mixxer
-
not actually muted, but the sound will get a little quiet once in a while, just barely noticable.
-
also, use default eq settings when playing

Save your money for a Gf FX5900 and upper.
The series FX5200~5800, are sort of 'in-between' cards, which came out during the 'transition' phases between Gf4 and GfFX - they're not bad, but not really cost-efficient. One would rather buy the best of Gf4 Ti cards, than FX5200~5800.
Now, as for FX5900 and upper, it's a new ball game. The prices are dropping, but it's still a little bit expensive... but, it's worth the money invested. (Although the card is huge, with generally two cooling fans and a lot of noise..)

AH2 is a strange beast that yields great performance to mediocre nVidia cards, and crappy performance to top-of-the-line ATI Radeon cards that normally rule the roost in every other game.
-
my guess is that will be fixed. though i am happy my little of ti-works well.

or my Radeon 9600XT 256MB card :)
Getting my new PC tomorrow... should be sweet :D
