Title: How do I make a movie...

..that is supported by either Windows Media Player or Real Player? I tried converting a film to .avi but it tells me that the file is either not supported or corrupted. Any ideas?

What program are you using to produce the movie (avi)?  What compression codec are you using to reduce the file size?  It's hard to offer advise with so little info to go on.

I just made a movie using "windows movie maker" that came with XP.  Its a neat little program that works really well IMO.

The movie was nothing special, just some snap shots of my kids and some short movies with "woderfull world" playing in the back  round.  It did make my wife cry now that I think about it, it was one of her valentines day gifts.
