Hopefully this will be what it takes for MLB to get a salary cap.
If not, at least we can hope the Yankees will suck.
The funniest part of it for me is that they are moving a gold glove SS to 3B while keeping Jeter at SS. Jeter is at best an average SS. He should be playing 3B or LF. If they are going to move A-Rod they should move him to CF. He has great wheels. I think he would be able to convert just like Robin Yount did, and go from excellent SS to excellent CF.

Heres the funny part.
He did not do watermelon at Texas LOL.
And he still commands big bucks.:rofl :rofl
Baseball fans enjoy your $4 hotdog LOL

Agree Funked. Outfield allows more rest and almost always helps the batting average.

It's these athletes that are really funny.
This jack bellybutton really thinks he's worth a few million. Yet the real important people are struggling to buy food.

You've got to be kidding me. He has been by far the best player in the majors (including offensive and defensive contribution) since coming into the majors. Nobody else is really close except for Bonds, who is a liability in the field. Texas stunk it up because they have awful pitching and little offense other than Rodriguez and Palmeiro. It's a team sport.

Well, maybe the hungry homeless people should learn to hit the curve.

The players don't set their salaries. Salaries are paid by idiots like $teinbrenner.

What’s baseball?
You mean that televised activity for insomniacs?
-
What's wrecked baseball for me is realignment, new franchises, player movement, the DH and, the only thing the players have any control over, steroid abuse.
That being said I'll still attend a few A's and Giants games this summer, mostly to harass other fans about how the players were REAL men back in the 60s, not some juiced out muscle freak who'll be dead by age 55 like today's players.

Well I can only speak for myself.
But I find It boring to watch.
Much like golf a real snoozer to watch but fun to play.

Way to go, George!

Funny how the Red Sox owner changed his position regarding the salary cap when he lost the bidding war.

Baseball commissioner Bud Selig approved the signing, noting that the other 29 major-league teams received ample financial compensation.
"I see no reason why a small-market team like the Twins or Expos can't continue to remain competitive, just because it lacks players," Selig said. "The league was due for contraction, anyway."
That's so close to true it is scary.
