Title: Getting a Browning Hi Power

I've been offered one for $350, used a pair of times (one of which I was present and got to shoot the gun) I love how it feels. Every where I've been, I see them for $700+... anyone have any experience with these guns?

Avoid the lightweight (alloy) frames, they're crap.

The rest is OK: accurate and reliable.

Oh, get rid of the useless clip safety (really easy to remove), it will smooth out the trigger course.

was the drug gun of choice in the 80's...  they are great in .40...  weak in 9mm.

It is a browning design and that says it all... browning was the ultimate firearms genius.  

The gun is well built and historical and feels solid... Lot of it's features are dated but... what it did then it can still do now.
