Fester hosted it in HTH last nite and a bunch of us went out for the tour.
In one word--Wow.

If HT approves it and we get it in the MA rotation I predict Fester and HT will have a winner by a wide margin.

Like I told Fester--Oz would be thrilled:)

Beautiful map. When you fly over Pearl Harbor, it LOOKS like Pearl Harbor. I think he said there were ~ 14 "historically correct" bases.

Water is just the right color, terrain color is good too.

Overall, the visuals are superior.

Lots of carrier groups with chains of islands that will make them a bit more difficult to hide for the nancy boys that aren't looking for a fight. ;)

Now we just have to see how the gameplay works out in practice.

Can't wait to fly on it.

Me Too :D  Great job so far ...

Tested with my low end pc
1.0ghz, GF2 mx 400 64 mb card ..
Even with tons of smoke and in busy areas The FPS was decent .
30-60 avg.
( I do suggest that the weather be kept down when you add that . Around 2/3rds of what Fesma has right now )

Lots of new exciting stuff on this map .

I thought it was a pretty cool setup.  I really think the strat guys will like it.  Although bases are close together the country “strat” targets are fairly accessible from the front line.  It also looks to me that bombing will be a bit easier.  Resources seem to be grouped much denser than the regular setup.

I also liked having 3 hangers at the V bases.  I think Fester stated that some had 4 and 5.  I hope that stays that way.  I’m not sure about all bases but the terrain that the town sits in does a pretty good job of camouflaging the buildings.  Not sure if that means anything but I liked seeing it that way.

Looks like a good map, really interested to see how it plays.  I think Oz would be proud.

about the clouds I agree, it seems the cloud overdose on festerma was causing bugs and problems. I patched the festerma with fewer clouds and some other adjustments and it cleared up the anomolies.

this map will also have the same limited clouds as the patched festerma. also heavily detailed areas will not have clouds over them to keep framerates acceptable.

doing the tedious details of the map now like shore batteries and spawn points and still need to detail landmasses in the east and south side countries.

the finished areas look really good.

Tried to give this map the maximum amount of variety in base distances, carrier fleet layouts, tank towns vbase layouts etc etc.

in theory each different area of the map will give the players different advantages and disadvantages to deal with.
