Lucky handsomehunk.
culero
-
If they were hunting lion for food:
Learn to shoot, ya lucky handsomehunk :lol
If they were hunting lion for sport:
Too bad the lion missed his throat. :(
-
Wish the lion would of ripped his throut out. Take one of the ****ing salamander with him!
-SLICER
-
There really is no nead for that kind of hunting IMHO.
Just stunninghunks trophy hunting so they can hang something on the wall back home and tell there friends look at me im a big man.
-
Can't stand those people. Big man my ass. If he killed that lion with a hunting knife, I'd give him props. 4 rifles against 1 unarmed aminal is really nothing to be proud of.
-
The lion had a fair shot.
-
I hate poachers...:(
I've sworn to go hunting poachers..
-
How many shots did the lion take 4/5?
Or were they all that horibly bad shots?
-
Ok, anyone wanna join me to a trip to afrika to poach poachers and make poachers an endangerd species?
-
those guys make me sick. They give all hunters a bad name  Life should be taken for food, not sport! How in the hell could anybody shoot a kitty cat?!?!?!?!
-
Why would anyone be a sniper and shoot men?
-
from the looks of that last section where it goes slow, that man woulda be done, but the lion took one that messed up his attack, then was tryin to get away and they put him down, my guess he prob took a good 4-5 shots, them damn things got some power, makes me sad though, he wasnt hurtin anything, wish he woulda got that guy.

To keep other men from shooting you or your fellow soldiers.
-
I don't see a difference. The men you are shooting don't necessarily want to be there.
-
I would have liked to see the lion take that guys head off but thats just me. Lions and Tigers and other beautiful animals like that shudnt be shot.
-
Now if the lion could shoot back, yeah now thats a sport.
-

This does not even deserve further comment LOL.

I like the high-five at the end. Whadda loser.

LOL

Those morons are lucky they didn't shoot each other when the lion ran between them.

It's a dammed shame they did not atleast the lion could have a meal.
-
LoL! All these people that judge these hunters so quickly.
In almost all parts of africa, you're only allowed to hunt Lions that have killed men.
However, these guys wait around for a turn for the "Call" to come in that there is a mankiller loose. Then they go after it.
-
You can pay easily and hunt one, gonna cost you some dollars, but, you can book hunting trips there get all ur permits set up etc, and have a guide take you out to shoot one.
-
To bad the Lion missed.....
what ****ING *******s!

Here's a kitty that was taken from within an hours drive of Seattle:

is it just me, or does that lion take a hit in the face ( under the jaw) about from about 3 feet away before it hit the guy?
Look at the slow motion section. It looks like the lion lost control of it's body for a few seconds, begining right before he would have really NAILED that guy.
Anyway, what a sad group of people.
-
Christ, why do I say anything anyway?
No one listened to what I said.

I read what you said but that doesn't make these people any less disgusting. They were thrilled to be able to kill that lion.
-
And that lion was killing humans...
-
Full grown male lions rarely hunt for thier own food. This is normally done by the females of the pride. IF (and I stress the IF) this particular lion had killed a human being, it was probably the result of some kind of umwelcome interaction. IE it may have been protecting it's turf/pride.
At any rate, I don't know what the legal procedure for killing a problem/rogue lion is there, however I have a feeling it is not done by some trophy hunting schmoe, looking to increase the size perception of his tiny donut. (as this video pretty stongly suggests).
I also find it hard to believe that they would have sent a group out to kill the lion who were so obviously poor shots. I mean come on. It was pretty close to torture.
It was not clean (and in my opinion not justified), and those people, ALL of them, should be shot with thier own ball of crap.
RTR
-
That sure didn't look a group that anyone would want to use to kill a rogue lion.It looked like it was a hunt pure and simple. Why else would they try to set one guy up for the kill shot?If you listen,it sounds like a guide was coaching the shooter.

I'm sure you have proof of that, yes?
Otherwise, your conjecture here is just as valid as the people who think these rutabagas are dip****s... and no, the big cats are not the rutabagas.
-SW
-
Pity the lion missed.
Ravs
-
Proof? They wouldn't be hunting it if it didn't.
-
Uhm... right. You do know what poachers are?
-SW
-
Why would you videotape yourself poaching, then post it on the net?
-
Why would you ask a rhetorical question?
I wouldn't poach anyway, so don't ask me.
-SW
-
Poachers may be scum, but I don't think they'd be stupid.
All stupid poachers would be weeded out by pissed off lions, like above. So therefor, you assume that they aren't poachers, because they got attacked, and because they filmed it.
-
Yeah, and someone whose been tasked with taking out a maneating lion wouldn't be such a piss poor shot.
Therefore, I'd like to see some concrete proof it was anything other than a trophy/safari hunt.
-SW
-
Uh, I'm pretty sure they hit the lion quite a few times there, chief.
-
You can hunt practically any animal in Africa, including lions, all you have to do is pay the very high trophy fees. Last I heard, it was $1500 - $10,000 for a lion, depending on country, time etc. That's just the fee you have to pay for the pleasure of killing the animal, you have to pay the costs of the hunting trip on top.
The problem with hunting as a means of population control is that the hunters choose the largest, and therefore fittest, male lions they can, rather than the elderly and sick lions that nature would weed out.

Which is a shame...
-
Wow, you're a quick one huh?
Piss poor shot = taking several shots to down the animal because they missed vitals.
-SW
-
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that the majority of the posters here make laser precision shots when an 800 pound lion is charging towards them. Next time I'm sure the hunters will go for the spine.
Judging by your avatar, your cat obviously can......

Ah, the ultimate in tardism: The queer rolleye emoticon.
You sure got me there Corky.
-SW
-
bah most countrys need more Ghost and the Darkness lions.
hunting poachers would rock.
as for dorky238, yah if angry lion is charging you and you wanna live you haveta hit him, if you cant, you need to be lion food. Sprayers suck.
-
Nothing like the O' Club to make a person lose respect for his peers. You really saved face with that snappy comeback, wulfie. And your's was pretty good too, Pooh, especially on such short notice.
-
It looks like the lion was fenced in, so it might've been some hunting club or some crap like that. Still doesn't make it any better.
Like someone above said, if the lion attacked a human it was probably out of self defense. You can't ask the animal not to defend its turf. That would be like asking you not to defend your house. If the lion came near your house, fine ... you'd be defending your ground. If you gonna eat that lion after you killed it, fine. I have 0 respect for the people on the tape regardless of the legality of what they've done, unless that was dinner.
-
Would it be different if it was a moose?
-
Don't give me ****, I won't give you ****. Pretty simple.
-SW
-
Wulf, their aim wasn't the question here.
If they were shooting at a moose, would it matter?
-
If they're hunting for food, no. If they're hunting for sport, yes.
-SW

Not as far as I'm concerned. I have no problem with killing an animal for food or out of self defense. I hate people who hunt just for sport. Doesn't matter what the animal is.
-
Wow, no one listens do they? Or read for that matter.
For you to hunt a single lion in the first place, it would have to be a **MANKILLER**, otherwise you wait until you get the call that there's another one around.
Sure you pay the trophy fees, but unless that lion kills a man, it's untouchable.
-
And where did the lion kill a man? Was it while that man was roaming around in the wildreness? You go there you're fair game to become part of the food chain.
-
laser...you are making a big assumption that this hunt was legal. It may be...but we don't know that.
As for big cats that are man hunters....good for them. they're just following their natural instinct. IF it's in a game park reserve and you get eaten, then that's just tough.

Lasersailor, hunting safaris in Africa are booked in advance. You choose what animals you want to hunt, pay the fees, thn your professional hunter helps you track/bait the lion you want to kill.
If only man eaters were allowed to be killed, the safari companies would not be able to sell the licences for lions in advane: how are they to know when a man eaters becomes available for shooting?
This for example from a company offering hunting safaris in Tanzania:
HUNTING REGULATIONS
Lion & Leopard Permits: The Tanzanian Wildlife Department regulation permits the hunting of both Lion and Leopard under the following conditions only:
21-Day Safari
1x1 - One Lion and one Leopard permit.
2x1 - The clients must share one Lion and one Leopard permit.
2x2 - Each client will have one Lion and one Leopard permit.
3x2 - The clients will share two Lion and two Leopard permits.
The Tanzanian Wildlife Department allows the following game to be hunted strictly on a minimum of a 21 day permit: Elephant; Lion; Leopard; Oryx; Greater Kudu; Eland; Gerenuk; Sable; Ostrich; Klipspringer; Hippopotamus; Puku; Roan and Porcupine. The minimum legal length for Leopard is 1.30 meters (51.2 inches) from tip of nose to base of tail. Minimum caliber size for dangerous game is .375 (9.3mm). Handgun hunting is strictly forbidden.

Ok,I'll buy when the lion was charging...but what about when that clown took the first shot? You know, when the lion was perfectly still?
Watch the video after the lion charges. The guy that gets knocked down was lucky that clown in the background didn't hit HIM.
I'm not anti-hunting by any means, but something about that video(which I haven't nailed down) disgusts me.Maybe it's the part where that guy high fives the other guy, like they kicked ass, when the reality is one of them is very lucky to be alive.
-
Um I think it was the part when the lions gaping mouth was in the guys face and the lion was saying
STOP F*KING SHOOTING ME prettythangHOLE!
-
I bet a truly 1337 sniper could have put it down.

Yeah mrbleck could probably kill that lion and with one shot but thats all he can say or tell cause he might have to kill you also.

*gasp* That was completely unprovoked!

The high five at the end is what really clinches the disgust factor for me.
3-4 men with high powered (and scoped) rifles barely make it out without a casualty.
Bazooka next time, maybe?
Maybe they show the video to their friends: "... and that THERE is where I REALLY sucked the underwear up my anus because, as a group, we are pathetically poor hunters..."
I'm with RTR on this one.
-
I do not like African big game hunting. Not that legal hunting there is poaching on guided hunts, it’s not. Certainly it’s legal for a reason, it won’t harm the species, or it would be protected by military types. And that’s how it is for poachers. They actually kill poachers, pry to protect a endangered species, and certainly to protect a manageable species, that exists because of hunter funds. (Get dizzy with the math and sanity)
Still, I just see a wonderful animal being shot down. Lions in the Zoo outside of Reno are just something to see. They play with bowling balls for Christ’s sake, like they were our domestic cats with a yarn ball. Yet I get the same bad feeling all the outraged AH posters here had hunting a lion as I get when the lions take down Zebras and only cripple them on the cable Animal Channel, so they get to eat them alive. I don’t like that either, but accept it. Reality is a *****.
Look, I hunt deer, and a 12 point buck on the hoof is the most impressive thing you will ever see under your deer stand. More so than a lion in a gaddamn zoo. Many animal activists will agree, and to think me shooting that buck is beyond their comprehension. But I act the same way the African hunters do if it’s a fair hunt. I even high five and take pictures and mount them.
So I just put that lion video into realization, like people wanting a buck I shot, to kill me or the other millions of hunters that manage the deer herd in many states. I came to a interesting conclusion.
Your blood thirsty human killers, you’d a liked to see the death of a human, rather than a animal management hunt. I got Saving Private Ryan on DVD too, but it was sad to me, not a snuff tape. Your some sick MF’ers.
-
They are definetly pathetic hunters, like most, im truely amazed how they didnt hit each other.
-

Most animals kill humans because tards like these try to kill it, or are just dumb enough to invade its territory.
-
I doubt this happened anywhere in Africa.. The dude has his gun on an extended tripod at one time for gawd sakes with the Lion less than a 100m away.. What a panzy... This looks much more like one of those trophey hunting farms here in america were you can pay 'X' amount of dollars to be able to kill a particualar type of animal. It would explain also why the Lion was alone and didnt seem to be so weary of the rutabagas with rifles.. I'm sorry to say but by their accents they sounded to be from the south somewhere. Gawd I hope not alabama...
I wish the Lion would have taken that fools head off too. Or perhaps a mutal shooting among handsomehunk friends...
-
i showd this movie to a friend, and we both agreed most likely witht he fence in the backgroud, no other lions in view (lions are social pride animals) that many people mostly looking american, this was prob some stupid arse game ranch, which furthers the patheticness of these people, i can see hunting with 1 guide in africa under fair chase, where the lion actually has some change, but these people that fence them in etc, are loser, IMHO they should be shut down.
-
Gahhhhh, you're just valuing the life of one animal over the life of another!
-
if ur talkin to me, neg im saying if the hunts fair im all for it, if its in a fenced animal farm it should be shut down. pretty simple
-
I believe cattle are raised in fenced in farms. That's just me though.
-
lmao, neg its the exact same thing, if you put a moose inside a fence and shoot it and call it a great trophy hunt, its BS, should be shut down same as lion, now if ur out in alaska and had to hunt the animal down, track it through the woods etc, and set up for the shot without it being inside some fence where it cant possibly elude you, then thats fair and a good hunt IMHO.
-
dont be a dumb arse, who the hell hunts cows? Thats awhole different story. Cows are pretty much for sure dead, and they are killed in mostly humane ways.
-
I'm not talking about hunting, I'm talking about killing animals. Dead is dead, what's the difference?
-
well were talkin bout different things then i guess, dead is dead thats for sure, but its how they are killed in hunting, in that movie its not close to fair the animal has no chance, there is no sportsmanship to it, a good hunt still leaves the animal dead but at least if you miss ur shot the animal can run away and its not gonna be easy to find it, instead of having it run to the corner of a fence.
Also i agree that animals shouldnt be hunted for just trophys that are posted on ur wall, i think you should eat anything you kill, my grandpa taught me this the hard way when i killed a blue jay, most god awful thing ive ever eaten:(
-
Sure as hell didn't matter to the Jay is all I'm saying.
-
nope, i understand what ur sayin, deads dead the animals gone either way dont matter how its killed. But i still think those trophy farms and BS, and in normal good huntin, the animals actually got a chance to live. But i see where ur comin from.
