The moronic a political chat room rubbish appearing on Channel 1 is getting very tiresome IMO.
Could we all agree on some channel where these fools can take their rubbish.............
Channel 999 may be...............
So when it starts we can tell them to discuss it there...........
and if that does not work I would advocate reducing ch1 to local range only.......restricting it to discussion with enemy pilots only in the vicinity.
Also just as the help button goes to a web page can there be button that comes to this BB so we can suggest folk use it.

Political stuff I can stand.... what I can't stand is the profanity and lewd behavior that is becoming more and more common. What the MA needs is more moderators and people turning in any screen shots.
I do appreciate what the moderators and HTC has done to curb the decline of respect in the MA.

Heh. I've just seen the perfect arguements for moving feilds closer together.
Y'all spend too much in transet and thus too much time paying attention to channel1 and not enough time in fights.
With more time fighting there would be less attention bing paid to whats on chan 1. Thus less folks would care. LMAO

I'm with ya, Tilt.
For those who say "Just squelch it", I enjoy the game related chatter on ch. 1. But the "Bush sucks", "America sucks", "yada yada sucks", all that really sucks. Especially when the true brain trust gets going full steam.
On the sunnier side, I imagine that the majority of the traffic on ch. 1 is still about gameplay.

I'm with Tilt. What's to stop us declaring an unofficial channel, and starting to use it right now, instead of expecting the undesirables to go elsewhere? We could establish channel 123, for example.
I'm not offended by profanity, but the political rubbish and the adolescent pottymouth nonsense gets to me sometimes.

This sort of makes it look like Umbolo was the offending party, Beetle. I doubt he is the bad guy as he is a heckuva nice guy and a rook as well. If it wasn't Umbolo, would you mind stating as such so there is no confusion, please? Not trying to impose or be bossy.. dunno if Umbolo comes to the boards or not and I'd hate to have the name of one of the nicer guys in the game unjustly sullied. If it is Umbolo, call me stunned and forgive my intrusion.
Oh and Beet... at least 5 kills there.... wtg. :)

i talk a lot on channel 1 but being in a fight keeps me quiet most of the time.
also getting in arguments with squaddies does that same thing to.

lord knows I do my fair share of "jabs" on the famed Ch1... THough i do try to keep it as civil as i can... As angry as those "track stars" or runners can make someone. They aught to never be allowed to call someone what was said on those few screen shots captured by beetle. I dont care how angry you get, belching out profanities on Ch1 to that extent is rediclous... I am a firm beleiver that one should never throw stones while walking in a glass house... But I have a few solid walls up, and know that most never get that bad either. The ones that do on the other hand, need to be made aware that there are both children playing this game or whatching, and there are some adults who'd rather not see this kind of stuff being said.
One more thing i'd like to address is the fact that ppl think they can say anything they want, and tell others to just squelch it if the dont like it... It should be that way. Sure thats really the easiest way to deal with it and solve the problem swiftly. But why should others go out of their way to avoid this talk? Like I said, im no angle, but I know right from wrong like 99% of the other ppl who are on line.
Edit: I think a set "world Vox" channel would be shweet. How abouts we find one? Anything over 199 will do ;) Not a politics channel... If you want to talk Politics go get a job with CSPAN or CNN, or better yet, join a debate class:aok Just neet little channel where everyone could shoot the breeze:D

Umbolo was just simply being Umbolo... He wasnt what was wrong here... I remember this only because I was apart of this here somewhere... I may even be on film!:eek: I wont speak for Umbolo but I will say that all he was trying to do was make light of a heavy bout on Ch1...

No, it wasn't Umbolo, as he is on the same side - Rook - and although he was online at the time, he was not part of the skirmish taking place which involved myself and pottymouth.

I almost never read any political disscussion on ch1. There is a total loss of culture in political discussing.
Its always the same. A bunch of stupids are trying to rub the skid marked panties of their most hated politicans into the nose of those guys who favored him.
And the top of ignorance is when they ask:' are you french?'
That really kills game fun.
HTC, accept the fact that there is no light hearted community! And will never be.
Bring in a squelch list. Lots of guys want it badly.

people filter out all sorts of stuff on a daily basis - why do so many find that hard to carry over to ch1?
if someone is going after you personally, you have /.squelch (the bad man), if someone is going off on someone else or just in general, simply ignore it... 3 lines of text... not hard to just let it scroll up and stuff.
now if someone is going off on a subject you personally find offensive and don't want to see, a /.squelch list is merely a cop out.
seems like a lot of you need long walks on the beach.
