Fuel evaporapes here. Comming home 1 sector on 1/8 tank. No worries, I'm 15 k, I'll just kill the engine and glide for awhile. Nope. Evaporation seems to to burn at the same rate as if engine was on. Is the fuel burn model hosed or what? My fault - I should just stayed and faught till dead or outa gas. But I wanted to see a system message - no joy. Lets put something cutesy in there to burn up that last bit of gas - to hell with physics :D

Sounds like a bug.
Did you actually turn the engine off, or just chop throttle? Did you have a fuel leak?
What plane?
...just asking because I have never seen what you described without a fuel tank being hit.

Yep, does sound like a Bug, or maybe you had a fuel leak.
I have shut my engine off many times to conserve what little fuel I have left to get me home. Always works for me.

Define "evaporate" Tweet.
If it's a fuel leak, the fuel will disappear regardless of engine on or off. I'm pretty sure you don't mean fuel leaks in this case, but its kinda hard to tell by the nuance of the post.

It could've been a leak, I didn't think of that - oops :o

Etch, you can check damage in flight by hitting Cntrl D.
It will bring up a list of aircraft systems, and any that are damaged will be highlighted in red.
Always one of the first things I check if I hear a bang:D

also the way to conserve fuel is to use both rpm and throttle... reduce both til you can maintain level flight around 140-180 and you'll stretch gas further.

Actually, some planes get better mileage at full throttle, like the Typhoon.
