I think it was a Soviet jet-powered seaplane, but I can't remember the designation.  I believe they did a show on Discovery Wings about it and some other weird seaplanes.

Beriev VVA-14 ASW Search/Attack Platform Ekranoplan

It's a WIG (Wing In Ground-effect) design that flies at high speed very close to the surface. They can also be flown like a normal aircraft, but typically to a lower ceiling than a pure aircraft of similar size and power to weight ratio.

My first thoight upon seeing that thing was :

I have a book somewhere of the Monino aviatiom museum near Moscow, one of these things (if more than one were built that is) resides there. It is in pretty poor shape though.
