When I get to under d1000, about d600 of an enemy on initial merge...there's a game freeze/ stutter for a split second.
After the freeze all is fine.
I believe it has to do with skins being recognized or placed on my FE, or however they show-up to me on enemy planes...
It only happens when a new "skin" is introduced in combat and im d600 from it do I get the freeze.
After that plane "skin" shows up some time later, there is no freeze....

Same problem here (just got it in beta16, had it on and off for a while now).
System:
XP2100
Win2K SP2
GeF4 Ti4600+53.03 Dets
1 Gig DDR RAM

Happens here too. I think it's the game loading the higher res textures for close range.

And just imagine what will happen when there are 10 or 15 different planes at close range. :/

i also am getting small freezes which i didn't experience in the earliest betas. i've no clue. though in my ah2 dir i've many updates. would a fresh download be preferable?

try downloading full install, and before new install, uninstall old one and delete all remainig folders in your ah2 directory / (settings, ect...) I found that once i did this, I got better fps....lol - no clue on how that helped.
After you install AH2 - create a settings folder and import you js file and all .kmps into that from ah1 so you dont have to set up your joystick.

I did not have any freezes or stutters following fresh install of beta 15, but with beta 16 I got tons of these after flying from an airfield to the 2 vehicle fields that are next to each other. Maybe there is some problem with having 2 fields within visual distance of each other.
