Post by: Ripsnort on February 26, 2004, 07:21:07 PM
I had to reflect back on my own life when I saw this gang walking by my office window, then I took the picture and smiled :)

(No indian, today its just an imaginary "bad guy")

ya,  usually played the indian side to.

when I was 5 or 6 my grandmother lived near a plant where they processed turkeys.  so one year for christmas she gathered a bunch, dyed the ends black to look like eagle feathers and made me the whole head-dress.  went all the way too the floor.

No, I didn't play Cowboys and Indians.

My favorite was "Mother May I?"

Everytime it was my turn and "Mother" said, "Little Drunky, please take three big steps forward" I would just do what she said.

And everytime "Mother" would say, "Little Drunky, you didn't say 'Mother, May I'."

At which point I would scream, "B8tch, you just told me to move three big f8cking setps forward.  What the f8ck is wrong with you, c8nt?"

I never made friends playing those games.

LOL - great pic Rip!

Didnt do cowboys and indians - but gave the neighbors a laugh having 'dogfights' with our bikes.  That stopped once we realized that bottle rockets looked like tracers and took it upon ourselves to increase the realism level.

The other option was always to challenge other developments (neighborhoods) to 'wars.'  There were no objectives, no points, and no organization.  Just 30 kids running around in the woods with plastic assault rifles (back when they made those types of things) shooint off caps and whining about who got who first.

Good times!  :D

Played lots of cowboys and indians.  A lot of Combat (remember the show?) too.

Now, we as a nation, are playing Cowboys and Muslims.  Wanna bet on who wins?

3 men are sitting in an airport lounge.  1st man is an Indian and he says "Once my people were many, now we are few."  2nd man is a Middle Eastern muslim and he says "Once my people were few, now we are many."

3rd man is an American Cowboy and he says to the 2nd man, "We aint played Cowboys and Muslims yet."

"Ahhh... on Sat we all got together and watched Combat on ch 44 UHF (remember UHF?) then played army untill Mom called us in for dinner (I was Kirby with the BAR) "

BAR, Browning Automatic Rifle.  Brings back memories.  One xmas in Pampa TX I got a BAR.  Had batteries in it and made some really good gunfire sounds.  Must have been very anoying, batteries died just a few days later, so my Mom said.  Never did get any new batteries.

Well nuke Im gonna tell ya a little secret a friend of mine told me.
You see he was a pima indian and he said that when a brave had become to opinionated (much like your self)that they would take them out into the desert.

And they find a real big rattle snake.
They would put them both in a pit and tell the brave to strip!
And start dancing around the snake untill the snake bites him on the noodle.

Now I don't know If this will cure you but I would like to see you try this none the less.
Let me know how it turns out will you?

Your problem seems to be a lack of a grip on reality MrBlack.

I will ( in my drunken state) go out on a limb and tell you that I happen to be a bright person. In my heart I feel that you may be a good person that just needs some help in some way. Hell, we all need help at some point don't we?

Anyway, I feel you need to come to grips with whatever is bogging you down sir

we used to have a version which we called "war" basically you divide into two teams then go and cut quince sticks, head down to the river and make a clay pellet about half the size of yr fist.

You stick the clay pellet to the end of the stick tightly then when you flick the stick overhand the pellet shoot off and hits your little buddy hard enough to bruise him for a week.

Would probably be illegal these days...

It was the only time when it was crucial to get ch 44 working as best as possible!! Was it on before or after creature feature, "Dr. Pole Bearer"
They later moved Combat to around 1:00 AM on Saturday night, And was a weekly ritual to watch, what a great show, Followed by 12:00 High and Rat Patrol...

This can’t be a good sign. We did the same thing as Laz but we wore motorcycle helmets with face shields and 1 pump old daisy’s. The multi-pump pellet guns that would kill squirrels were definitely out.

They mined lime or something that left sand like piles near my friends farm, great to climb and hide around, and the hard crust when busted made great ‘grenade’ type chunks that when thrown  sprayed sand all over the other guy. Good thing I never got into fast cars and losing shin bones.

the bb guns we had were like 200 fps daisy lever guns.  We wore sunglasses if we were feeling particularly safety concious...

never lost a shin bone but did lose a fibia... hardly miss it.

I've seen carbon arrows at 300 fps, thousands of times, your about right. You can see them go into the target at 20 yards, pry why we could duck BB's quick at 50 yards at 200 fps. I'm still guessing 100-150 fps, but still.

When I got old enough to drive, I bought a AMC Hornet 4 door, 6 banger. $60, paid for with muskrat trapping funds. They were $7 a pelt back then, but it needed a muffler and brakes.  My Mom hooked me up so save certain death and Mav tickets.

My fibias are intact. I'm glad I didn't grow up near Stockton, Ca., you'd a been bad infulence.

for men I am simply a bad influence.... being around me is risking death, addiction incarcaration or worse.

for women... I am like a convertable (so my ex's say)... Every woman needs to have one for a summer but they are impractical for the long run.

some treat their minds and bodies like temples...  I treat mine and everyone elses like amusement parks.
