If anyone is considering doing a B17G skin, I'd be very interested to see 'A Bit 'O Lace' skinned. It sure is one the more prettier schemes!

I have illustrations available (top, port, starboard, front, belly views) that I could scan in for anyone interested in doing this?

way ahead of ya....
however, bad news though, the way the skin is setup on the B17 will not allow for the way the markings are done on "Bit O Lace". I've got my skins saved though if or "when" the skin gets changed....cross your fingers...
and i'm sure some bribery is in order as well....right nate! :aok
the closes you could get to setting up Bit O Lace is having a yellow tale and wingtips and nose art (on one side)....but that's about it.

p.s. i'd be interested in those scans you mention above! it's been hard to find good stuff on the net so far. That image you have above is a good reference as well! thanks for that!!

It is possible, and I am currently working on the legendary "Memphis Belle"(though she's a B-17F, and I have to move the noseart back a lot..).
But the problem is, the B-17's also equipped with a "glare" - the sort of automatic glare which makes the colors look terrible.

i'm betting that once all of the AC are done for AHII, then they will have the time to go back and make adjustments to the 3d models and skins so that we will be able to have "flat paint" skins....
but, it's going to be a while. just keep those skins handy till then.

I'm having the same trouble. I hope that they get that fixed. I have a pretty good model but the glare makes it look like I used random paint colors. especially on the engines and body ceiling.

I did this skin of "A Bit O' Lace" and there are just a couple of minor problems that HTC can't do anything about. Any tail marking under the current peramiters can only be a Trinagle. For now I had to make the submission with a Triangle K. Next is that the triangle on the tail is automatically tranfered to the Right wing. Nothing I can do about that. The V on the right wing is automatically mirrored and sent to the left wing. And finally I have a great "A Bit O' Lace" nose art but it is right in the area of the squadron logo so I did not add it. Other that that it is correct but depending on what actual photos you look at you will notice that the Rudder was damaged in combat and replaced with an olive drab rudder from another ship. Anyway here it is....

Will the skin only allow you to do symetrical wings?
