Title: Whine of the week
Post by: AcId on March 02, 2004, 09:23:40 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain that HT et all aren't deaf dumb or blind. Folks this game changes, sometimes for the better sometimes for the worse. I'm sure that HTC can see the effects of their changes. If they feel the need for further change rest assured it will come. Incessant whining will not bring about change, decisions at the HTC offices will. Don't think that just because old so-and-so whined for 2 months straight that the Chog got perked. This crap about this map sucks or that gameplay sucks is really getting old and childish. We all have our own opinions, thats great, voice it then STFU. If there's something you don't like that persists, take a break. As this game continues to evolve it may get worse for some and better for others. If it continualy gets worse for you then cast your vote and unsubscribe. If your significant other starts beating you daily with a louisville slugger, it may be a sign to get out of that relationship.

Oh good. A whine about whining.

I give it a 4: No threat to quit, no personal attacks, all language acceptable.

Perhaps I as guilty as any in my small maps (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=110465) thread.

As for the game changing... it does? Seems like we've been on 1.11P4 for over a year now. We've had some new maps in that time, but that's about all.

What has changed is the composition of the player base. This has led to a change in tactics - the steamroller, pork-n-auger, fuel pork, suicide the CV etc...

A long time ago I suggested that the bardar and mission editor might want toning down. Clearly these were innovations at a time when the player base was much smaller, and help was needed to find fights! Now, it seems that the damn bardar is the driving force, with "follow the long green bar" being the maxim of many.

Perception of the game will change when more people fly the P-51B and the Ki-61.

Whining NEVER helps, just shows a person's immaturity, instead of whining about things try 2 do something constructive 4 urself.

Should u be continuously shot down by a certain pilot then ASK
him/her WHAT U are doing wrong, most of the times they'll tell u.

If u get tired of being shot down try a different map, u may find pilots  of ur skill levels.  Spend more time in the TA & DA to learn
from the better pilots & FILM ur fites so that u'd be able to study
finding ur errors.  U r then on the road to improvement & self sa-
tisfaction.

The pilots who shoot me down 90% of the time are also my BEST
teachers as they're always willing to help  :)

Should u not like a map then create 1 urself & host a game or two
Always be gracious to winners & losers alike, they'll remember u
& be more amicable  twds assisting u .... that's HOW I learn.

Remember that this is a game 4 ur enjoyment, if u don't care for it
then try something else perhaps u'll find ur niche in other games,
AH isn't the only game in town   :p

Cheers,

Happy1  :D

Furball, you would have gotten a 10 from me but you merely replaced the profanity with "*", instead of using the correct form where you mispell a common swear word, i.e. "chit".

Good effort, but please stick to the approved document construction guidelines for whines. 8.

I really like the unusual reference to spongebob as well as the the local slangy "bloke". This gives it an earthy heartfelt quality.

If it had only included references to prison, momma, pick-up trucks and trains, it would have been the perfect whine.

Even english has a verb related to "quejarse", and it is "to complaint", not "to whine".

Oh, great! Another soap box thread where the one guy that should STFU tells everyone to STFU.

Very nice whine,,,,,however the dismount threw me off a bit

seemed to veer off from the topic of the initial whine

a paragraph space to break things up so the drinkers can read it would have given ya another .5 btw

8.0 here

"I think they could win everything put in front of them. In fact I think I could pick six of them to win the Boat Race. The only trouble is you would struggle to find anybody small enough to be the cox."

Furball - it takes 8 to crew a boat, in addition to the cox. Making that quote something of a Colemanball.

Football managers are not that well known for being educated.

Arsene Wenger being the exception.
