Use an iron skillet, and get it hotter than that.
Looks like the mixture needs to be a little thinner.
Mix the dry ingredients together thoroughly. Mix the milk and egg together thoroughly. Pour the egg-milk mixture into the dry ingredients and only give it enough stirs so that the whole thing is wet (no dry spots). Stirring releases gluten, which makes the pancakes excessively chewy.
nice work.

That rabbit cooks a mean pancake!!

Sad looking pancake..... but there is much to build on there, rookie!

Looks like you need some Home Economics classes in High school, dude! ;)
Personally, I like adding an egg and melted butter to the batter, make sure its thin batter, for thin pancakes. Then you can roll them up with peanut butter, jelly, whatever you want for a filling (Almost a crepe, but I call it a "Fat Pancake")

That's not a half-bad idea.
I used to get the ladies in the cafeteria below my office to toast up some flat pita bread for me, then I'd add some apple or grape jelly to it. Yum! And they'd charge me less than a buck for it, too. I could get through lunch with that little snack.

You gotta add an egg to the batter.
and I don't understand why anybody uses a mix.
All you need is:
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt.
1 tsp. sugar
mix these ingredients. Toss in
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Then use 1 cup milk, and one egg, mix those two together, and blend the whole mix.
Here's a good variation for you:
in addition to the milk, throw in about two tablespoons of creme fraiche (it's not as sickly sweet as butter).
Chop up one mango.
Instead of bacon fat (or vegetable oil), grease the pan with duck fat. (how do you get duck fat? Well, you start with a duck, of course)
Fry those sum*****es up... tasty.
But yeah, first work on the basics. AARs are an essential part of the process.

UUUmmmmmm..... alls this talk about pancakes makes me want them for dinner..

honestly, i think it's as simple as, you put too much batter in the skillet for that one pancake.
startem out smaller, then you can increase the size once you get the hang of it.
-
You need to consult with John Kerry and Howard Dean, both expert pancake flippers.

Gotta have some secrets skuzzy.
Some also recommend malt powder for that diner taste.
And Rip, I'm flattered, but having to wear pants is a dealbreaker.
-
I did add an egg, I added roughly a tablespoon of vanilla extract too.
I dunno, for the first time I did pretty well, btw the other side of the pancake turned out better :p.
I think i will put nuts in mine...and chocolate..mmm...

Yeah I wasn't paying attention to pouring.. :lol
Cause our old whisk fell apart and I didn't want to have a metal flake in the pancakes, but -shrug- who cares I've eaten rust b4.

I thought they were expert "waffle" makers?

you suck. pancakes aren't on the atkins plan, and even that sorry looking example looks fairly tasty.

Capt A!
Thats why I said he sucks, I just didnt want to hear all the flak about atkins!

All in all, it's the easiest diet I ever did. you can eat when you are hungry and if you get ocupied and forget to eat you really don't feel hunger, I find myself eating more out of habit or scedual than hunger. loss has been steady at 3-4 pounds a week.
all that said, I'd kill for an apple and a good slice of pizza.
-
In honor of this thread, I had pancakes and sausage for dinner tonight.

Perhaps we could all go to Paneras, I do belive they have power outlets for computers, but I dunno about internet..
The story has to do with being a civil war re-encator..
And making rice in a rusty pot, and beef (Mule) stew in a rusty pot...
MMmhhmm, best beef stew I've ever had... With exceptions of moms cooking. :)

Pankakes (http://atkins.com/shop/products/Pancake_and_Waffle_Mix.html) & Syrup (http://atkins.com/shop/products/Sugar_Free_Pancake_Syrup.html)
I wouldn't buy it from there though, you could probably find 'em cheaper (no shipping) somewhere locally in Portland. 'Course, they're probably not as tasty as the real deal.

I've seen the low carb syrup and pancake mix, but just can't bring myself to try it.
I've tried the low-carb bread. what a wonderful taste and texture. fortified with 9 esential vitamins and saw-dust.

ROFL!
Had pancakes, eggs, and sausage last night. Yummy. Might have to do waffles w/bananas tonight.
