I predict they sell everyone they make and then some.:)
-
That car rocks!
I bet 2006 or 2007 has a BOSS model with a cool hood scoop. I hope GM learns something and makes the GTO look more like a real GTO.
-
Cheap interior (Typical Ford) but if they come out with an SVT Cobra version, it could be a bmw-killer for me.
-
Definately the best looking Mustang Ford has built in many years.
-
Anyone notice how cars get uglier and uglier every year?
-
they could have done it better
-
That IS a nice looing car. Best Pony in years.

Cosmetically speaking?
That little rear window looks out of place, maybe it'd look better louvered?

I think theres a direct correlation to how adaptable you are to change. ;)
Read the book "Who moved my cheese?" :D
-
Heck yeah Nate, they could always do it better, but the styling does take many cues from the original. A step in the right direction. I like it. And that is something I have never been able to say about the last 30 years worth of Mustangs.
-
I like it. Except the size of the rear bumper..but they probably had no choice on that.
-
I like the front of it, but not the back end..

it has Nissan 300zx butt.
-
Its only a matter of time till they do a retro that is styled like the Mustang II !
Cant wait
-
I don't like it. It looks like a cross between a BMW and and Eclipse to me.....
-
Looks good.
Does it have the performance to back it though?
-
Looks cool, kinda heavy, needs AWD and turbo. :D
-
Like so many other things... nice front, fat ass.
Step in the right direction though.
-
I really like it. Best looking Mustang :)
Would like one in the old US Int'l racing colors of Blue racing stripes over a white body like the original Shelby GT 350's.

Almost as good as my dearly departed 93 midnight blue LX 5.0 'vert.
-
That car is plain-jane. I wouldn't pay more than 10,000 for it.

You be the judge:
Based on an all-new, fully modern body structure and chassis system featuring advanced MacPherson struts and a three-link live axle with Panhard rod, Mustang boasts an overall ride sophistication unmatched by any of its ancestors. Its braking and handling are nothing short of world class.
It produces all the tire-smoking power the rear wheels – and most drivers – can handle, with a better-breathing 300-horsepower, 24-valve MOD V-8 (That’s over 50 percent more power than delivered by the fiery, small-block 289-cubic-inch V-8 found under the hood of the classic 1964 model) or 200-horsepower SOHC V-6 engine.
With power comes responsibility, and the new Mustang takes occupant protection to a new level. A stout safety cage, Ford’s Personal Safety System™ with passenger weight-sensing technology, available side air bags and a front structure designed for demanding offset impacts, provide drivers and passengers with the most comprehensive protection ever offered in a muscle car.
What’s more, all this unrivaled driving excitement will continue to come at an attainable price. Mustang will remain the best performance car for under $20,000, and the most affordable 300-horsepower car made today.

I don't think any American car has beaten the classic Mustangs for looks. This looks alot better than the recent Mustangs - they always seemed so sterile and uninspired.
-
rip.. there is something to people not adapting but... I am having a hard time picking out any new cars that will be future classics.

Thats not much different than the trouble people have in picking succesful stocks or winning lottery numbers.
-
grun... It wasn't hard to see that the big healeys would endure or that the 55-57 Chevy would or the 55-60 vette or the chevelle/gto of the sixties or the 67-69 camaro or...
the only way that most of the newer cars will become sought after classics is if they start putting estrogen in the drinking water.

But you are saying thaty with 50 years of hindsight. What about the mustangs from the late 1980s? I used to think they were awfully ugly, but I have seen some nicley cleaned up ones and they aint so bad. maybe people wlll feel nostalgia for them, and they will become classics.

hehe, thats funny, my father used to say the same thing about the 60's cars he drove ....

and he was right.... if he drove ramblers.

Oh my, that is a nice looking stang. But the cheap looking dashboard near the heating controls, and the ultra-cheap looking plastic on the outside rear-view mirror detract from the overall appearance.
Other than that, it looks like a honey.

Exactly... reminds me of a Nissan as much as it does a Ford.
Which shouldn't really surprise me. Ford has been copying Japanese cars for quite some time now.

Thats one thing that pisses me off bout even nice US cars, those black plastic mirrors. They should be be body color, it doesnt cost too much more but damn does it make the car feel more upscale and better finished. Its the little details like that where the foreign cars have the edge a lot.
I basically like the new car and finally the GT gets 300 damn horses! The interior is way better than before like on my 99 stang, however I will have to see one in person to decide on the overall look of the car inside and out. Who knows I may even buy one later this year if I get a decent job. :)

Start crying. The Ragtop and Cobra come out 2006 model.
I've known about this for about 2 1/2 years. After our 2002 Explorer is purchased, it's either this or a Benz. Undecided. Leaning towards Benz.

The 1968 GT500KR is the best bar ever put on the street IMO. It beat the Vettes (Which the T-Bird was it's competition), Goats, Z-28's. Worse yet, Ripsnort. Carroll Shelby is back on with Ford, and will be supervising the Cobra.

Thats good news for me! My wife gets a new vehicle in 2005, so i'd have to wait a year either way. 2006 my current car will be 5 years old and I'll be in the market for a car with 390 hp +, the Cobra will fit that bill nicely.

those rims are strait out of the hot wheels collection. bling-bling. :lol

Yep, they're stock. You can upgrade the wheel package though.
-
outside mirrors should be chrome or aluminum. So should bumpers. That is how god intended.
lazs
-
Chrome is distracting to other drivers and may cause injury or death.

Can you say, Eleanor? She's for sale!!!!!

first real mustang they've built since 1973:D Stays true to the image for a change..no more pinto-mustangs..2-door boxy family car with a 5.0l...or a wanna be jap car...this stang looks and probrably performs like it has some muscle.

I must be an old Geezer then.
Lots of Chrome on my 65 Fairlane and 62 Thunderbird. I am prepping the T-bird for painting right now, there is a s**tload of chrome on that thing.
That stang is nice though. The new one, it's ok, would rather hold out for a GT 40 if I had the cash.
IF...

On those old cars its fine, but on new cars is not the same.

the loss of chrome on bumpers and mirrors was the first miss-step down a slippery slope.
