If you like styx you gotta hear these guys. There a tribute band out of Milwaukee called Light Up. I'm not a real big fan of Styx but I cant belive how much they sound like them. Even the real high vocal harmonys on Lady (http://www.rhythmmethodmilwaukee.com/sounds/light_up-lady.mp3) are spot on.
Come sail away (large download) (http://www.rhythmmethodmilwaukee.com/sounds/light_up-come_sail_away.mp3) dosnt sound to bad either.

Styx Rocks!!!
You sure thats not Dennis D Young?
-
ahh...
when music was music - thanks
-
I never got into Styx myself. I liked some Kansas though.
-
Too much time on my hands was our class of '81 these song.

Blechhh!

In 1976, I saw Styx, Starcastle and Rush in concert, 3 bands for $5.00. Ticket prices have come along way, haven't they? ;) Styx was a pretty hot band in high school during the 70's.
-
Styx...is that some kind of band? Didn't they all die 1/1/1990 at 12:01am? :D
-
"Boat on the river" was the super-hit here in late-70s, in late-70s - mid-80s every teenager studying to play guitar in USSR learned this song first...
-
Kilroy!
-
Styx was a great group in the late seventies.I'm not sure what happened to them after that though...good hard rock band, that started cranking out Air Supplyish crap in the eighties.
-
I read somewhere a while back that a few of the original members are still around doing small time venues. "Come Sail Away" was my class song back in 81. Ahh the memories. :)
-
Had to toss in my Styx CD while I type this.
Styx played Nassau Collesium last year..I did'nt go because without Dennis D. Young, they're not Styx.
I think there should be constitutional ammendment saying if the lead singer leaves the band, they have to change they're name..
What's up with Lynnard Skynnard?

Alot of legale battles between the livinging members.
Kinda sad really when they could just be together playing music.

After playing the song about 50 times my wife is now ready to kill me.
-
as would I :)
-
Promises, promises. The upshot is that I now have that infernal song continuously repeating in my head.
-
I'm more of an Air Supply fan.
-
Wasnt Stevie Ray Vaughn in Air Supply?????
-
Styx is one of my favorite. Come Sail Away is one of my favorite songs. This band does it very well!
The drummer is a very busy man in this song.
Thanks
-
Nobody in Styx would have been qualified to hold Hank's jock.

Showing my age now
Styx played at a high school prom dance I went to
Dennis had a pbs concert on last month, not sure if it was a rerun or was new, didn't really pay attention cuz I changed the channel pretty damn quick, was never really a fan, but admit they had a couple good songs.
