Is a way to separate the game playing sounds (engines, hits, warnings) from the other players voices.
local range channel with people screaming about not giving check six calls and others giving check six calls...some guy talking about parts for his car or whatever..
makes it impossible to hear my engine, to hear the actually game that I'm trying to play.
I'd like a way to make them quiet, either turn that particular sound down (like you can the rest of the sounds) or turn it off all together.
There's nothing less enjoyable than someone cussing up a firestorm while I'm trying to play the game.
I like playing, but I can't think of any other venue where in order to play a game I have to listen to people fighting and yelling and cussing at each other.

Yea the other night someone was having "a bad night" and was using many colorful metaphors dissing the game and those he felt should've covered his six, etc ...then there was the choir of everyone giving their 2 cents...
Vox was a nice addon, over all....but I'd love an override to squelch certain users.

Kanth, are you saying you can't hear your engine sounds even with the "effects" slider set to max?
I guess I'm asking if all other sounds seem to soften when you hear a vox transmit?

.squelch command folks...works very well also u can squelch range as well:cool:

when someone's talking I don't hear anything but them talking.

What's the command to squelch range channel?
That's' all I was looking for.

Isn't one.

guessing you're still wanting to hear vox on squad channels?

Kanth ...
I had the opposite problem.
Go to the "voice" button in "setup".
Look for the "effects" slider. This controls how much external sounds are drowned out when vox is transmitted.
I was finding it impossible to hear my squaddies over the sounds of the engine. I played with it for a bit and have it tuned nicely right now.
I did slide it ALL the way to drown out all sound when vox was transmitted and it drove me nuts cause a lot of my feel for flying is dependant upon listening to the engine speed.

I could turn vox down but then it'll turn off my squad's vox as well, which means all calls for participation in squadron activities will be missed by me.
It really would just be nice if I could turn off range vox

Well tonite I realized that there is only a limited amount of people you can squelch, then you get "the squelch list is full"
then you gotta listen to the yammering or relog and squelch those immediately around you...
frustrating..:(
