Go offline; set protect objects to 0.0; grab a plane from the hangar and roll it next to a fighter hanger; fire all guns. Which plane do you think will take a FH down quickest? Surprised me ... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I'd say da Jug.

190a8 or spitfire would be my guess. (Hog C would be too obvious.)

It wasn't even close. By my wrist watch:
Jug: 12 seconds
Typhoon: 9 seconds
F4U1C: 9 seconds
FW190-A8: 6 seconds

OK, so next time I have to kill a hanger I'll be sure to grab a Fw190A-8.
But if you're aiming at aircraft, and expecting to hit them, the Hog C is still numero uno for kill power (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Remember in the A8 you have up to 3 different types of rounds being fired, all with completely different trajectories and aeordynamic properties.
OTOH, the Hoc C has only Hispano 20mm, thereby making it much easier to hit with.

So A-8 is a uber plane?
Fine. Fly one tour with it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
(those 30mm really rules IF you are able to hit enemy with them (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif))

So A-8 is a uber plane?
Wow.. when you're defensive you can get anything you want out of someone's post. Someone saying "an A-8 took down a hangar faster than an F4u-1C" is translated to "proof that the A-8 is uber".
Could it be that he was suprised when the test revealed this? Maybe he'd been listening to the pro-Luftwaffe scream "overmodeled hispanos" so much that he wasn't expecting the A-8 to excell in anything? I really wonder why it wasn't a pro-Luftwaffe pilot that presented this data? ...Oh... that's right... it doesn't support the load of BS plw's have been trying to sell everyone on.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Dinger did the same kind of testing a few months ago and found that the Hispanos and MG 151/20 were on par. However the whiners don't like facts too much, so the anti-Hispano whining was not curtailed. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
-
I shoulda guessed that, used to use A8 for ground attack all the time.

Not supprising that the 30mm armed 190 kills what it hits faster then anything. Hitting is the issue.
Man I wish you could select the 30mm only to fire..
But the A8 is NOT uber.
The 109G6 is..
It has bigger bumps...

Dejavu;
The capabilities of A-8 were well know at JG2 two - four months ago (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
So you kinda hit your axe to the stone as we say here in this case (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
But I still think a bomber is better for taking down hangars. 30mm were slow but powerfull HE-ammo so it's just logical it can destroy hangars better than Hispano.

I love the 30 mm's when doing ground attack against M3 and M16. The explosive blast from them don't even require you to hit real close.

Do I win something for being the first one to get it right? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) (Actually I already knew it would be the 190A8 based on previous experience.)
That 30mm sure is powerful, but if the other guy is doing any kind of evasives I think I'd rather have a 12.7mm. Of course only 1 hit usually does it. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Hispano is a type of cannon???????
I thought it was the handle of some uber pilot!!!

I dont see what does this have of surprise. 30mm ammo on Fw190A8 lasts for 5 seconds or so, and one single round of this can break apart a P47D, so go figure what can do 110 rounds of 30mm+300 or so of 20mm Mausers.
Try that with 4x20mm,and no MGs (experienced 190 drivers only fire cannons OR MGs, rarely both) and then post the results please, will you?

Rounds to kill a FH("damage" per rnd, FH "health"=1)
*Rough numbers*
Hispano Mk II: 370(0.0027)
MG 151: 440(0.0023)
Type 99 Model 2: 390(0.0026)
ShVAK: 440(0.0023)
MK 108: 130(0.0077)
To find the time to kill the FH(T), use the formula: T=1/((ROF/60)*GUNS*DAMAGE)
For example...
Fw 190A-8, 4*MG 151: T=1/[((740/60)*2*0.0023)+((629#/60)*2*0.0023)]=9.53s (# 629rpm accounts for 15% ROF loss of synchronised inners)

Juzz sez:
For example...
Fw 190A-8, 4*MG 151: T=1/[((740/60)*2*0.0023)+((629#/60)*2*0.0023)]=9.53s (# 629rpm accounts for 15% ROF loss of synchronised inners)

Juzz, I did it again, but this time I used a stopwatch and I did it three times. I got the same time each time for FW190 A-8: 5 seconds flat.

RAM wanted a time for only 4*MG 151/20, so I calculated it: 9.53s.
For Fw 190A-8/R2 with 2xMG 131, 2xMG 151 and 2xMK 108... 1/[((629/60)*2*0.0023)+((600/60)*2*0.0077)+((765/60*2*0.00061)] = 4.6s
