I am tired of all you idiots bashing Luftwaffe for being Nazi or the Allies for being Evil or the VVS for being murderers etcera.
Fly the game for the aircraft, not the regieme behindthem. Lots of you guys wont fly german or american or whatever aircraft because of the nation that made them. Well, that is stupid. I fly all countries aircraft, because I love aircraft. If you want to push a political philosophy, go somewhere else. I am an american, and if I was gonna fly in WW2 (thank god I didn't have to) I would have flown for the allies of course! But this is a game, and in peace time, you telling me you wouldn't want to take a ride in a Me109 if you had the chance!?
Seems to me we all have a love of aircraft, and for me that love spans country and political philosophy. I am an engineering student and I love all the aircraft because, well, I love airplanes! To me it does not matter whether the engineer who built that machine lived in germany or japan or the US or britain, thats where he was born, so thats where he designed them, and they are all IMHO works of art.
So cut out the political bullsh*t. We don't need it.
If you think about it, it is kind of a (much less serious) form of racism: FW-190 you are a marvelous aircraft, but your designer was born in germany instead of US so you are a piece of crap etcera. Obviously not the same as people, but in the same vein.

Yepper Zig. It's about the planes, tactics, and flying skill. The kills are just a way to keep score. All the WWII airplanes are special. They represent the pinnacle of piston-powered, propeller-driven aircraft.
They are just planes.

I'm not a big fan of calling someone a Nazi because they fly German planes... nor refusing to fly anything American made. I'm even less of a fan on being told how to think.

Remember this is a game first computers didnt realy exist back in WW11 so none of the plane in here faught in the war. I use alomat all the planes at sometime or another dont care what country it simulates. I do believe that the 2 countrys the US faught during WW11 are now our allies.

Great points Zigrat. I was an engineering student last year, now a beginning engineer (unfortunately not working with aircraft) and I like aircraft because of the engineering behind them and because of the flying. The 190 is my fav and you'll find me in either version most of all the time. I'm not a fan of politics and politicians though.. doesn't it seem like they bring their countries to war and thus make their people suffer for their decisions? Anyway, I'm pretty far from being a Nazi just because I fly the 190.. it would be self-defeating because I'm an American-born Chinese.

Good Point who cares what country the plane comes from fly it cause you like it. Anyway this what country the plane is from stuff isnt always so simple, look at the P51. It was designed by a German guy, Edgar Schmued, and it didnt really work right till they put a British engine in it. So just have fun. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Out of courtesy to such a great initial post by Zigrat, I will refrain from baiting my conservative friends, at least in this thread. If someone will open up a political debate thread in the officer's club, I will be more than happpy to join in the fun.
