My girlfriend just got this letter from her apartment complex, needless to say I am pretty worried as she lives alone and goes to school 3 hours away from me.
This letter is to notify you of 2 incidents we have had on the property recently. A couple of weeks ago, a tenant in Building "K" looked out her living room blind at 5:45 AM and saw a man looking in her bedroom window (a peeping Tom). Yesterday around 8:30AM, someone knocked on the door of another tenant, covered up the peep hole and did not answer when she asked who was there.
Both of these incidents happened in the same building that she livies in
Well an hour ago, her upstairs neighbor knocked on the door and asked her if the complex had talked to her at all. Come to find out a couple of days ago her neighbor was on her way to work and saw a man outside my g/f's apartment at 5:45 am peeking into her window. She said it looked like he was urinating....(I am assuming he was jerking off). She didnt call the cops b/c she didnt know if my g/f had a boyfriend or husband. The thing that really pisses me off is that the apartment complex didnt even bother to notify my g/f that this had occured at her room. Any cops here have experience with this sort of thing.

Stay at her place for a couple of weeks if you don't have to go too far for work/school. Beat his ass, strip him naked, leave him on the side of the street. Problem solved, the cops will pick him up.

Nah, that's just not a good thing to do to a person.
Instead, beat him up, strip him down, then tie a rope around his foot and hang him naked upside down from a lamp pole in the middle of a grocery store parking lot.

While I would like to do that it isnt gonna happen, I dont live with her, she is 3 hours away and I cant be there everyday to catch the perv

Well, im sure she could call the local police station and tell them about whats been happening, request the police to patrol the area from time to time.
make sure she keeps all her blinds shut, windows lockd, and doors etc.
maybe have a girlfriend or somethin come stay with her so shes not alone.
dont answer the door unless she knows who it is and is sure of it etc.
Not much you can really do i dont think, makes it alot harder where your 3 hours away.
Also maybe tell her to leave some lights on and the tv, stuff like that to make the guy think theres more people in there or that someones awake incase he was thinkin about goin in.
Im not a cop but thats all that ive thought up so far.

Does Georgia have a shall issue concealed carry law? Get her a good little lady smith and a permit. Then she can take care of herself if she needs to. Better armed if you need it then raped or murdered.

I don't think we've ever had trouble with peepers but we had some trouble when I first moved to this house with people prowling around in the back looking for stuff to steal, and evidence that someone was trying the doors.
I went to the gun range and took a couple of swat targets. put 2 clips in each, about 20 rounds in the heart lung area and 5 to the face of each. then I took them home and cut off the old 'roll up' blinds we had in the kitchen window and the window on the bac door (both face the back yard) and taped in the targets to replace the cut off section.
at night I'd pull the blinds down and leave the kitchen and pourch lights on, leaving a nice shape in the window with light pouring threw the bullet holes.
the problem went away imediately. seems even the dumbest guy gets the point.

1st of informe the local police and request increased patrols in the area
2nd DONT buy her a gun least your gonna have her TRAINED and that takes time and money get her some mace instead and have her TRINED in that while she is learning how to handle a firearm
3rd the complex is NOT obligated to inform residents of suspicious activity
4th make sure the apts maintain ALL outdoor lighting in the area These punks hate the light just like cockroaches
5th when possible BE there with her especially at night , walk her to her apt stuff like that
6th SA SA SA tell her to ALWAYS be aware of her surroundings.
OK now if you have done #1 above and in the future she calls about this tom the police will resond MUCH faster we hate sicko's like this. You might have to stay on the cops

Maybe MrBlack can put on his camo outfit and cover her apartment with his sniper rifle and plink the perp.
More serious...
Is putting up a cheap cam/webcam an option?
Moving to a flat higher up?
She can stay awake one night and turn off all the lights inside. If he gets close to the windows to see inn, she can take a pic of his face. When he gets the flash of her camera in his face he will prolly never return. + you have a photo.

I'm not a police officer, but I played one in a porno movie once...
I wholeheartedly suggest the following:
1st: Notify the police that there is this kind of problem in the area.
2nd: Move a couple miles away.
The perv definitely lives in the area - probably in the same complex - but he won't venture far from the nest.

A huge tragedy...and still, you think a gun is the right resolution for this particular case?
(I don't believe in restricting gun ownership - I own 4. It's just that your story shows how tragic the results can be when a gun is used to resolve this kind of problem.
And, in some states, the shooter probably wouldn't get off that easily, either.)
