See you there.......flying under "Moggy"
http://www.greatergreen.com/il2/default.htm
-
1.22 or 2.0?
-
1.22
No icons
No Map assist
Full cockpit
Missions every hour or so
24/7 server
30 or so to the room
Most of the set up seem to have invisible cockpit view but not this one.
-
so can you have 1.22 and 2.0 installed on a machine
upgrading has limited the rooms I can get into now..
-
I think it's 1.22 only when AE is released worldwide they'll probably add a room
-
some are hosting as 2.0 already most are still 1.22
some list what version, others you have to wait until the connection fails out when you try to connect which is a pain
not being any good at FB, I like the map icon thingy working. at least then i can quickly find a fight or at least know about where I am at on the map - super full real without even ur own icon showing on the map takes some getting use to
-
yep the map thingy is tricky, however if you remember where you took off from and keep and eye out for landmarks then it's easier - took off earlier tody and was hopelessly lost in about 5 minutes till I found a PE8 - well I think it was a Pe8 stooging around the Finnish coast.....blew off his wing with 30mm and got splashed with oil......crashed on the runway coming back in........with a good vid card it's pretty amazing.
-
Greatergreen admin said he wont host 1.20 till the dedicated server is out. That doesn't come out till the patch after the expansion is released in Europe.
-
can anyone tell me how to host or a website that tells how? have a cable connection and a computer I could setup if it isn't a fulltime job...
-
Hey Sunking,
About your signature- I agree with Batz and btw -so do a lot of people.
-
AI at any level and any pilot in FB, is nothing more than AI and if it beats you i hope you feel suitably ashamed.

You can host on Hyperlobby, just click the top slot on any of the rooms then set up your game using the hyperlobby interface. Just be sure to describe your game settings so folks know what they are joining.
To host FB from the game just goto multplayer, create new server, set up the game how you want then give your ip out to your friends.
Here's the advanced manual (also on Disc 2 of original FB)

That's one of nicer things about FB online. Usually rivers are most helpful, but also cities and roads.
-
Also I found once you've flown over a map a couple of times - either online or offline you start to recognise features - just like r/l!
Since I upgraded my vid card am afraid FB is giving AH a run for it's money in time online.......which kinda surpirsed me a lot.

Having trouble getting a map made for IL2FB with control manager.
Have USB F16 Combat Stick, USB Pro throttle, and USB Pro pedals.
-
you just set up yr stick and pedals in XP then use the hotas to configure your x, y and z axis

Hajo> I have an IL-2:Forgotten Battles profile for the Combatstick/Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals combo here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=239) and one for the Fighterstick/Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3). Both use MichaelCHProd's excellent .cmc file which you can download here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72) if you want to make your own custom profile, although you can download those profiles and modify them should you want to and save yourself some time. By using .cmc files you can quickly alter a file as the .cmc file contains all the commands for your chosen sim and then you just have to right click on a joystick button and insert it. For more help on using .cmc files take a look at the FAQ (http://www.ch-hangar.com/faq.htm) or this (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=175) thread at The CH Hangar (http://www.ch-hangar.com).
BTW I also have profiles for Aces High for the Combatstick/Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals setup here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=133), one for the Fighterstick/Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals setup here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15) and the USB Flight Sim Yoke/Pro Pedals setup here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15). You can also download my Aces High .cmc file here (http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88).
I prefer to use mapped mode for CH controllers rather than DirectX mode as mapped mode IMHO is more flexible. Using DirectX mode IMHO is like driving a Ferrari in 1st gear, you're just not using it to it's full potential.

Hajo, REvvins site and maps helped me out so much. Suggest you check his forums out.. great asset to CH users.
