And yes, I think Fonda's sign is only an insult in Britain.  Here in America we only use one finger.  I don't know what they use in Vietnam.

umm... if that sign there making is what i think it is, is has nothing to do with england. around here its part of and obscene gesture. you need only to make the "V" with your hand, palm side in, put it up to your face with you chin on base of the "V", and stick your tongue out through the "V" note wiggling the tongue helps the effect.

Cripes, I don't like when people throw the world "really" into a statement like that.  I think it makes the statement totally open ended, subjective and just about meaningless.  Because no matter what arguement or evidence contrary, that someone brings to the discourse to refute your statement, you can always say, "Well they didn't really earn their medals.".  And that's just your subjective opinion.

As much as I despise Jane Fonda and feel she was a traitor it's untrue she collected "notes" from POWs and gave them to their captors.
