In our trusted P-51 versions (beta's) we have a very nice rmp chart, this would come in handy in every plane (as for the best rpm's and lowest fuelburn)
-
I have to implement that for all the planes. I'm just undecided as to what I want to put in there. The problem is that the settings change depending on what altitude you're flying at. I'm just debating what I want to try and fit in that limited space.

Sounds good, well I say you set the rpm charts for the sort of fighter. Like the P-51 is a high-alt fighter, so the rpm's are set for 20k+ I assume.
Something like spit will have to go to 10K
Just a suggestions

This is what I was thinking of (basically)

That's my point, we can't put all that information in that tiny space. It can change a lot as you move through different altitudes. On the B-17, it's not much of a problem because it's using a turbocharger instead of a supercharger.
I've been debating whether to just set it up at SL or some other given altitude. Because it's such a small amount of info that we can display, it's purpose won't really be to give detailed cruise data as much as it will be to give people a general idea of what the cruise settings are.

What if you gave us the base info for 10k alt for each plane.
We'd soon figure out what adjustments had to be made for alt changes.
Or not :)
-
Yeah, just a standard alt. with rpm's for cruising/maximum/with superchargers etc.

I have a suggestion: just put the entire wad of data on the webpages where you have the speed and climb charts for each plane. Then players can make their own RPM/fuel charts from this data by putting it on a .bmp and importing it into their clipboard as a "map". And players could submit their charts for others to download and use.
The important thing IMHO is just to make the whole wad available. Then players can do with it what they want. If they're not enthusiastic enough to make a "map" out of it, they can at least find a few points they're interested in and can pencil them on the edge of their monitor :)
