North Carolina Class Battleship.

Either USS North Carolina BB-55 or USS Washington BB-56.

It's nice only living about 45 minutes away from the USS North Carolina. I can go see her any time I want. :-)
They recently replaced the teak wood deck on her. She's lookin good! Plans are in the works to take her out of her present location and get her hauled to Norfolk to have the bottom re-done. ( She was set as a monument the old way..sunk in the mud. This is destroying the bottom) She will come back to Wilmington, NC and be moved a couple miles up the Cape Fear river with a whole new set up for a floating monument. :-)

BTW I have had lots of friends who have come to see her say that she is one of the most open ships out there. Not as much shut off to the public as on other ships.

I visited this last summer and in the gift shop you can buy 16" ammo.

It's plastic/fiberglass, but it looks really cool!

I ended up getting a book and a tee shirt.

It's an excellent ship. Almost the whole thing is open to walk through.
