Howdy
It been long time that I am totally deaf person after my both ear drum burst when I was probably 6 or 7 years of age and doctor told me that I almost lost completely all my hearing after my both ear drum burst. So, after I lost half my hearing, my parent brought me 2 new hearing aid which I can hear alot better and I have wore 2 hearing aid almost nearly 20 years!
Now, I went to see my doctor that I supposed to make decison to get or not to get Cochlear Implant and I had to think about it all day long today. So, what's my final answer? Yes. Well, That really shock that I had to say Yes, because I wanted to hear alot better than hearing aid and I cannot hear the VOX in Aces High or Drive thru to fast food.
So,I'll probably will have sugery during mid-Apirl at Children's Hospitcal almost two days and they said they will put Cochlear Implant on my right ear which my right ear is nearly completely deaf. So, I'll let you know all that How I am doing after sugery and stuff.

Hi Rafe, I have severe bilateral hearing loss and require hearing aids but won't wear them (too stubborn). Also, my daughter only hears in one ear and so we know of which thou speakest.
I think your news is superb, I am so happy for you and pray that all goes well and that you really enjoy your new hearing!
Best of luck friend.

I wanted to say Thank you for wishing me Good Luck and I have no idea what date I will get surgery, but tt probably will start mid-April or again probably in the summer where I won't miss so many days for school. The sugery will be probably last 2-3 hours which it not too bad and they said it would be cause of little pain, because they are using drill on my side of the bone near close right ear where they can put HiRes 90k Implant on the bone and also they have shave my hair, but not too bad.
Thanks alot!
Rafe

You know, I get really tired of these right-ear whiners. What about us left-ear people? Isn't the CT supposed to be at least a little bit balanced? Huh? This is just another example of that right-ear conspiracy that no one wants to acknowledge but that we all know exists. And don't bother to e-mail HiTech, he doesn't care, I think he bought into the right-ear whining a long time ago.
Good luck, Rafe, sounds like a great idea.
