Pretty calm day. Be prepared for when it not. Nice family pictures...
What is the 'Bridge with Towers'?
-
thks otto.
Montlake Bridge, and that water way is the Montlake Cut, connects into Lake Union and eventually through locks to the Puget Sound. This bridge connects into the University of Washington. That area on the water just E of the bridge is a popular anchorage in that pic for the games, they sound a Tornado warning-like horn when the Dawgs score a touchdown The anchorage area begins to look like a small island on game day..here's Husky stadium (http://home.comcast.net/~ripsnort60/130_3092.jpg)just outside the the Montlake Bridge.

Very nice, like the bridge too.

Bah, motorboating weakling...

I've been wanting to connect a face with the 14,000 posts. Thanks Rip.
:)

Nice pics Rip!
Seems you are lucky man with a nice family
-
Nice kids Rip
-
Those rats are getting big on ya Rip..
Excellent time to have a boat when they are that age. They will get 15 years fun out of it.

Boating pictures without Pam and Tommy just aren't the same...
-
Nice family and a nice boat!
What type is it?
-
Did you happen to cross a very white guy standing in a speedboat showing off his muscles? That picture of hblair is still printed on my cornea...
-
There are two great days in the life of a boat owner, the day he buys the boat, and the day he sells the boat.
I hope your personal experience with boats is better than mine. There's just something wrong when the motor costs more than the entire boat to replace.
Can we expect to also see pictures of the new boat house covered in astroturf sometime in the near future? :D
-
Great pics, Rip and a lovely looking family.
You, erm... look a bit like Bruce Willis in that picture!

Thanks for the gracious replies, all.
Extra motor (kicker) is for trolling (no, not on this BBS ;) )
The boat is a 20'3" Campion, Canadian product. The bank owns it for awhile.

No .50 cal on the deck, no torps on the side...no splashes from enemy fire. Dang...I'm pretty disappointed :p
Must've been pretty damn cold? What was the water temp? And where's yer damn lifejacket??

62 deg. air temp, 55 deg water temp. Life jacket in the cuddy cabin. They don't require you to wear them, only to have them onboard (My mom was a swimming instructor ;) ) although my KIDS are required to wear them ;)
The wife has the "torpedo's" and when she's pissed it can be like .50 caliber hitting you. ;)

Man, sure is a lot warmer than I thought. Over here...well, once you dig a hole in the ice...

Tacoma is about 20 miles from where I live, but, in defense of Tacoma, have you seen it lately? They've totally renovated the downtown area (Pacific ave) and the Train station depot. Businesses are flocking to Tacoma for the lower costs of business operations and you can actually be downtown after 11pm and be safe. Lots of micro brew pubs, a new Goucho's, etc. in the downtown area. Up in the "Hilltop" area, where drugs used to rule, they installed television camera's on the street corners and the drug dealers have either gone underground or moved out (they no longer deal on the street) Whoever the city planners are, they've done a helluva job in Tacoma.

Wow, a Tacoma that isn't a filthy dump. What is this world coming to?! :D

I've lived there for 40 years and it's not the place it used to be. Rip pretty much said it all in his post about the renovations. It's changed a lot in the last few years.

You obviously didn't "take in" what Rip posted. Tacoma and Pierce County were just voted as one of the best places to live in the U.S.
:aok :aok

Rip, you look like a softball player I tossed out of a game once. You play?
Seriously though, nice boat and nice looking family.
:aok

Wheres the slalom ski and inner tube? These are essential ingredients in making a boating weekend fun. Get those kids on the tube, tell 'em to hang on tight, then do yer best to sling 'em loose. The outside of a turn going 45-50mph on a tube was always fun. I've got a slalom ski I'll sell you rip. Slalom ski is one heckuva workout. Do it once a day for a couple miles cutting across the wake will make you so sore you can't walk for two days. :( :p This skis about 10 yrs old. Prolly not in style nowadays. But she's trusty. I've been full throttle behind the V-drive going prolly 70 mph +. Skeeery:o :(

Nice boat btw rip. Good investment. You're family will really enjoy that. Days spent on the river as a kid are some of the coolest memories fer me.

Hiya Blair, long time!
yes, I blame my father for my addiction to boats as well ;) Many good memories fishing, talking about life with Dad. I only hope that I can be as good of father to my kids as he was/is with me. :) Tough shoes to fill...
