Its sickening. I am tired of no skill HO dweebs (not that I've died this way a lot lately, but only to see people trying it sickens me), of no skill running guys, of no skill ack huging guys, of no 6 call guys (just got a 6 call...when I had no wing (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/mad.gif) ), of lack of teamwork (tried twice tonight to put up a mission, only 3 people answered out of 34), of lack of fun.
This is not what it used to be. I loved this sim because the challenge it was to fly against wonderful sticks. Now for each good pilot there are 4 dweebs that only know to HO and run.
This is getting very tiring. I have been having the same feeling for 3 months, and the only thing that keeps me flyin AH is that I love the sim itself.
But I dont like the way it is going. Each day I see more noskill moves on AH.
Now flame on me guys. Start to say that to come from 10K above and HO me is a valid tactic, and that running when you have 5K of altitude advantage is OK,that the 6 calls are my responsability (even when I am clearing another guy's 6) ,and that is their money and so they can fly like they want (Damnit it is MY money too, and I dont like to pay to spend 15 minutes after a running dweeb in the hopes that he will try at least to do ANYTHING to get me!!!!).
I know friends that tested the 2 week trial 5 months ago (more or less)...they loved AH because the challenge and fun on the MA. They couldnt afford paying it then, but 2 of them payed this month. I have been emailing them because I only saw them online 4 or 5 times , and they say that the AH they knew is no longer what it used to be,and that they wont pay for another month to be bored.
And I agree with them.

Pilots are getting more and more comfortable with the furball till you die method of gameplay. Hardly any planned missions anymore. People who knock down fields end up calling for C-47s that never show up.
We need to get historical scenarios going so we can have an alternative to the MA.

I'm having just as much fun as I did when I first signed up back in march. Yup arena has changed, it's become a lot more hostile. It's also become a lot more target rich. It's also become a lot more competitive. It's also become a lot more fun, I think. Of course most the times I fly I'm with a wingman or my squad.. so I don't worry much about someone coming at me head on. Quick jinx, throw his aim off. Now what's he aiming at? Nothing cuz my squad just killed him. hahahaha seriously it is funny :-)

Well, I have to agree with you to a point, RAM. I too was tired of all the HO PRO's. But, once I realized that they weren't going to fight the fight my way, I decided to beat them at their own game. I just had to adjust my thinking a little bit as to what was "Fun".
Now, while I'm becoming more and more active in the Check six, Snapshot and TOD events in the SE arena, I am having more fun in the MA by fighting "their way". HO's are pretty tasty, once you aquire a taste for them. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Come on RAM its what you make of it. Sure things may have changed, but look on the bright side:
1. Newbies = new players, more players, good game growth.
2. Newbies = Silly moves => easy kills.
3. A changing environment, tests your adaptability.
You say no-one organises raids anymore, well it only takes one person to organise, and since you think there is a lack of it, and your experience, you'd make a great organiser.
If someone organises a well planned and executed raid then people will join in.
The biggest mistake is the bungled 1st raid attempt and then the tireless hour that follows of acks going down, fighters vultch, goon turns up, something goes wrong, so more bombers come, then fighters rtb, ack comes up, the cycle continues again and again. People waste hours trying to capture one base.
People need to post (and there use to be some) of good raid or base capturing tactics and strategies.

Tried to be one in last call for instructors. Others were selected instead of me to be instructors, so I didnt sit in my hand, exactly.

No no no, you got me wrong. I DID post 2 raids on A30 tonight. wasted effort because first time only 2 people answered and second one only 3 did it. Believe me, I know how to plan a good raid over a base. The problem is that people dont want to be part of them.
planned 2 attacks yesterday. Thanks god Funked ,hizakite and Asmodan were online. Without them we wont had been able to launch them. We captured one base "in extremis" ( (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) Asmo), and then we failed in the next one (a 190 got 2 jabo p47s because my computer locked when I was in his six (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif))
But today... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) and other days... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
-
Ahh nevermind...
but... ya know, I always see the guy that goes HO as dead, just an easy kill in most cases.
Yesterday I had a great 51 vs 190 fight, we each had 4 or 5 opportunities to take the HO shot after rev'ing, but didnt. Rather both trying to get position, I had a blast! Thanks HT! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Weak guns = boredom
If you know, one mistake and your dead. You stay alert. Not to mention you can win a gang bang, as the bangee.
I would like to see all the guns at least double there current settings. I think this would pick things up alot.
The impluse to HO go,s away, quite a bit, with the knowlege that death is automatic

Honestly, I'd much rather lose the good pilots who scream on the open channel at every poor guy trying to figure out which joystick button is the guns than the latter "unskilled HO dweebs" who do not take every loss as a personal insult and can roll with the punches.
They'll learn how to fly eventually, a lot faster than others will learn to relax.

Lol most of the HO's dont have much skill. Fly the plane out of the HO and kill em. If thats all thay go for they end up with less E. anouther chalage can you live threw them. One other thing like Nash said, Find a wingman or a sqaud. RW helps a ton. Me and Zigrat have been winging here latly and been doing well together, I not in there sqaud but no matter. And one more thing Fly for the Knights thay usly have a few Missions going on. Or at least Zigrat will biuld em once in awhile. I have seen more Furballs here latly but its all just a faze. It will die and more Real fights will come back. I am starting to see more S events to. One more thing as long as it is Taking HT and the gang for this new update. We might all be rookies all over again (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). Releaning the planes will come into place, i feel once again. It will make my life more boring and many others if you take off. You have skill and as long as we get and keep people with skill in here than it will get better with time. Hang in there <<S>>

RAM the more I play in scenarios the more fun I have. My MA time is almost zero (squad night only most weeks) but I try to play every scenario that I can attend. And I'm having a lot more fun.
And the scenarios are only going to get better with the map editor, custom icons, CM tools, more planes, etc. A lot of the MA settings that make dweeb tactics possible will be changed for events. And in events everybody is working together towards a realistic military goal, not some points contest or vulch fest.
[This message has been edited by funked (edited 08-28-2000).]

the Main Arena and Aces High are not one and the same to me.
MA is just a Free for all gangbang alt monkey ackhuggin vulch o rama type of place just like the MA in WB or any other flight sim.
-
I dont know ram. the guys killing me are usually ones I recognize HO or not.
Get a team you can fly with. I almost dont fly unless some guys I know are on.
Makes missions real easy too.

There are some basic flaws in the game that ruin it for all the experienced players.
1. resqawning queens-that dont mind dying 50 times in a row trying to get an HO going, there should be some kind of a delay or penalty for dying x many times in a short period. Base captures , I know all the hoopla about destroying all the buildings , acks , ect.. but lets face it one respawner queen and hold off 50 attackers , and people just get plain ol bored with that crap.
2.In an HO as long all the other guy explodes first , you dont have much to worry about, why is that ?. It does take 2 to HO , i only ho in an off angle shot which most turn fighters give up in trying to position themselves.
3. Not enough stategic targets that really effect the game play, and if they are hit they rebuild way to fast to help the attackers position in the overal arena.
4. Maneuver kills are just dumb , like posted in another thingy , if ya cant shoot em down ( like have proof ala ww2 with guncameras ) you shouldnt get a kill, there's too much sittin at bases collecting kills for free. I know the thing whre people think someone has augered just to avoid giving a guy a kill , but if you cant hit him with bullets you dont deserve credit for his flying faults.
5. Bombers are too accurate in bombing , which is only gonna get worse in next version with i hear that Lancaster is coming out with a 40% increse in bomb load. Saturation bombing should be the only bombing option at 26,000' or more.
6. Tooooo much information available in the game , with these small sectors with sector indicators and pinpoint onboard radar sets , it is basically a point your airplane in that direction and go ho whatever you find and wallah ! you win.
7. Perk planes would go along way in keeping experienced people interested and give the others something to strive for, and should probably be based solely on the kill/death ratio , say like it takes 20 kills (maybe make jets avail to those with 50 kills) and no deaths to obtain a perkplane, that way everyone if they really tried to avoid unecessary deaths by respawing alot or ho'ing alot can get their little hands on a perkplane till they die in it, and the perkplane should be repairable on the pad but maybe take like 20 mins sittin to repair.Maybe anyone with a 1.0 or less k/d ratio should not even be able to get a perk plane till 30 kills are obtained.
I feel that some changes like damage done to countries resources last longer , HO if both planes go down BOTH get credit , bombers become more like bombers of the era instead of laserguided bomb loads, radar is more accurate such as height of detection (presently radar detects everything from zero alt to 100,000')ect and basically get rid of the sector indicators and the inflight radar data on the clipboard, decrease the maneuver kill to 1k or less, make the airbses larger and fewer of them , and better protect the veh. net bases. And get rid of the vehicle blob that you can see from 20 miles away , which makes vehicles suicide missions only. I feel that some of these changes like respawning delays and some other stuff will make base captures alittle bit easier for a determined attacker but that will make the arena more fluid and will keep things interesting , instead of ones countries destruction or survival being determined by the others gangbanging it or not.

Screw using K/D. I don't fly for K/D. Points, baby, yeah. They should be worth something (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I don't fly for points either, but hey, i get alot of them (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

The 5 mile IFF icons and the AWACS display are the big turnoffs for me in the MA.
The icons mean that every bandit in an 82 square mile area knows your plane type, range, and can estimate your closure rate and thus your energy state. And more importantly he gets an easy tally from the giant red letters, when any real pilot would be struggling just to acquire you.
And the in-flight horizontal situation display is something that belongs in an F-22 sim, not a WW2 sim.
I guess these things help beginners or something. I don't have an interest in playing in such an arena any more though. If I want that stuff I'll go play a space sim or a jet sim. Having that stuff in a WW2 sim makes as much sense as putting AIM-9 on a Spitfire.
And I won't even get into the B-17G and B-26 bomb delivery systems which outperform a B-2 with JDAM...

One incentive to win the war and not just vulch bases for kicks (which is boring after 4-5 kills anyways) is that the winning side all the players start out with a perk plane if they have been on that side for more than 72 hours or something like that.
-

Wow the Alt f4rs get the perk planes. That would be great.

What do you suggest take the place of the dar we have? WW2 pilots had some informantion about what was going on arround them.......

LOL, RAM. And you said look who's crying? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
What? You want the other guy to hold still while you make the consumate kill? If you don't get the kill it is the other guy cheating or not flying to your standards? A little cheese with that whine?
You gotta earn it dude. It always takes two to HO. If you don't like and can't avoid that situation, then it is just your lack of skill. Perhaps the fun is gone because more and more in the arena fly better than you?
All the HO whiners are just hiding behind their inability to get the advantage to position for a deflection or 6 shot. Nothing more and nothing less.
Situation - two planes nose to nose. How did this happen? Who should turn away and allow the other (you) to take the shot? Obviously the other guy. It's always the other guy's fault. It's always the other guyt hat forced the nose-to-nose and not you isn't it? Waaaa. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
You should practice. May I suggest the training arena? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Like someone said in the HO thread...I'll take the HO if I see the other guy trying to avoid it. This has always been the case for me.
OTOH, if I see they're positioning for the HO, I'll try to avoid it and hope they're a bad shot (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)..unless of course I'm too slow to move outa the way.
If a guy I'm fighting runs away, I consider the fight won and just say to myself "hmm..no sweat...next" and move on.
Only time I really get pissed is if I have to log off after a death..I hate that! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Mr RAM
I have to tell you this:
I like your skills and you are an awesome pilot, but you lack all respect for others.
Ive been watching your unpleasant outbursts on the generalchannel a lot of times and poor guy that shoots the mighty RAM!!
The only way anyone could get you would be, according to yoursef:
1 A HO
2 Reciving no 6 call from your country men.
6 calls,if you are so dependent on others giving you 6 calls
A. stop flying 190 a8
or
B. Wing up with someone.
I can agree that the 6 calls arent what they use to be, still I am not getting as pissed as I used to either, when not reciving them.
I kinda got used to it.
You are a part of AH not being fun anymore, because of your bad temper and to much roadkill talk in the buffer.

Renfield you are a utterly stupid. Each thread I read from you I realize it more.

I lack respect for the useless dweeb who only knows to HO, run, HO ,run, and ack hug. And sorry this is something that wont be changed in a while. I was once a useless dweeb, but in the second HO I did I realized how stupid it was. I didnt need much help to realize it. But here dweebs will sell your soul to the devil to get a kill. And I'll never respect that.
The only way anyone could get you would be, according to yoursef:

Crabo sorry but it is simply not true. "mighty" RAM, as you say, has his butt kicked on a regular basis by wonderful ACM, good teamwork, etc. And to the other pilots involved in this fights there Is ALWAYS a S! on the buffer from me.
A. stop flying 190 a8
or
B. Wing up with someone.
I wont stop flying any plane because dweebs, and about winging up, I have a personal project that if goes OK maybe will get up the fun of AH for me again.
I can agree that the 6 calls arent what they use to be, still I am not getting as pissed as I used to either, when not reciving them.
Oh well, I am starting to get used to no six call...but when I dive on a con to clear other's six after CALLING IT, I expect him warning if I am in danger. That is what happened yesterday, and that is what I really cant stand.
You are a part of AH not being fun anymore, because of your bad temper and to much roadkill talk in the buffer.
First was bad temper. now is simply boredom. There is something that gets me sick, and that is to expect a challenging fight from the con that is 10K over me, only to see him dive on my 12 to get a HO, or the guy who is 5K over me with initial speed advantage, one on one, and he keeps on running instead of trying to fight.
Sorry ,If I see a wonderful pilot flying with skill, a S! will be in the buffer,if I see the worse dweebish moves possible then there will be a DWEEB! call on the buffer.
I dont stop myself saluting the good flying of some pilots, dont know why must I stop calling coward dweeb to the one who doesnt want to fight, even in the advantage.
-

RAM, you do this to yourself. As being the target of your flames after shooting you down I can attest that you attack like an idiot.
As far as I'm concerned, RAM, you are still a dweeb. One to be avoided if flying on the same side and one to hunt if flying on another. You aren't that good. Any time you get shot down, you are quick to blame and accuse. Every flyer in the arena is not an HO dweeb nor is every time you get killed one of you countrymen's fault for not calling your 6. If you are dying it is one person's fault - yours.
While I appreciate 6 calls, it is every pilot's own responsibility for their own SA. If you get blasted because you aren't paying attention, the ultimate blame is your own. In our altercation your plane was also pointed nose to mine - yet you continue to rant about it being my fault and lament "HO dweebs". You still don't get it - it always has and always will take two to HO.
Someone doesn't call my 6? I don't go on a rant like you do. I end up in an HO with someone? I don't go blasting them like you do. You act younger and younger RAM. I'm thinking you are 8-10 years old at this point. All this crying and I think a pacifier or diaper change might be just the ticket.
This is it for me though. I'm not going to respond to any more of your troll posts but do intend to hunt you whenever possible. You will be a trophy kill, RAM. And an easy one I might add. And I'll take any shot I can to get you - HO or not. Actually, if I know it's you, I'll set up for the HO if possible just because you are pulling all this crap on the boards and in the arena.
I've dropped you before and I'll do it again. You just aren't that good a pilot. And I eagerly await your yelling to your countryment for not protecting your 6 and to me for not holding still for you and giving you the easy shot.
Useless dweeb indeed.
-
And for chrissakes, there is nothing wrong with a guy bugging out and "running" if he feels he has lost the advantage. You rant about people flying "recklessly" and coming at you "HO" (always their fault - just need to point that out to the LD such as yourself) but then rant about someone giving up on the fight to save their virtual life?
What's going on is RAM is in a slump. RAM can't get any kills recently so RAM feels he must blame everyone but himself. That is all that is going on. RAM wants attention so he trolls in here squeaking about someone pointing their plane AT him (the absolute horror!) but also bleats if they point their plane away.
The hypocrisy there is pretty damn thick.
I think the only ones that you <S> are the ones you kill. Anyone that kills you obviously must have been gaming, HO'ing, or some lame-o didn't call your 6.
Yeah, right. Dweeb.
-
You have done good RAM, 3 players!
Most I did get on latest try, was 1 player 90% of time and then rest of the times 2 players and once there was 3 players as one joined in bit late..
Mostly I was then taking fields all by myself, thanks to lack of intrest. (they couldn't get field even if it was 24 vs. 4!)
I must admit that getting good co-operation chance once per 24 hours played (probably..) gets boring.
Guess that belongs into my list also 'why' AH is kinda boring.

ROFL...you earned your part of flames, man. You did a suicide HO in an one-life event, and got lucky enough to survive because I chose not to accept it isntead of firing and make both go down.
You got what you deserved. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I die a lot LOL!. Many many times is a matter of skill from the other guy. In fact last days I have died only twice to enemy dweeb tactics. The problem is that I keep on seeing them trying to HO me like crazy, running when they are in the advantage and ack huggin all day long.
So "I am someone to avoid flying with"? LOL. I know quite many people who think the inverse. Not because "I'm not that good" (wich BTW is true and I always say that I suck), but because I dont shiver in diving to save a mate's skin clearing his 6 against all odds and because I do my best to call sixes and fly in cooperation.
But well you are right now one of those "hunting me" LOL! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

LOL again this piece of crap?...ok my SA is my responsability, still in EVERY PLANE there are blind spots, and when I am trying to clear someone's six I MUST focus my attention on the con in my front to make him break before my mate dies. Anyway I wont try to make you understand this, oh, Renfield, Master of the Headon (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I wont discuss about the TOD incident (ROFL). There was enough talk on Special Events General. And the only impression that I got from there is that apart of a HO dweeb you are a lier.

[]I've dropped you before and I'll do it again. You just aren't that good a pilot. And I eagerly await your yelling to your countryment for not protecting your 6 and to me for not holding still for you and giving you the easy shot.[/B][/QUOTE]
I'm not that good pilot. LOL I know it, and never have a problem in allowing it. The problem is-at least I am not a gaming-the-game HO dweeb like other people (you the biggest (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)). I love the challenge of REALISTIC AH. Dweebs spoit it.
Hahahah keep the fun up, renfield. You are funny (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I got into 5 potential good dogfight.
what happened even when they where higher they dive from over 20k to sealevel to their own troops waiting for other to solve their problems . Even cons at higher altituded in similar planes also did this.
Where is the guts too fight in H2H my experience with this is alot better.
I really like too die in a good dogfight.
i can understand when someone run away while overwelmed by enemy, but in these cases i was very alone.
damn i'm beginning too squeak here

Yeah, right. Dweeb.

Yesterday I died 3 times and got 9 kills. sunday night I got 2 computer locks, still got 8 kills,no deaths. Ram as far as 6 calls go I agree they don't come like they used to but....
I was on last night when you went off about not getting a 6 call in time. You got the call as soon as the guy could give it to you and you still yelled at him.
Call it netlag call it slow typing but please try not to yell at people who tried to help you. The more people you piss off the more people who WON'T give you a 6 call.

Mighty, net lag is one thing. To see a six call when I have had no wing and I am smoking down to earth for 10 seconds is another thing. I took it as a bad joke.
And BTW I didnt yell at him. I only said that thanks for the no call. When someone said I had my 6 called then I said that it was far too late. no insult no yell nothing more than a fact. There was no 6 call until it was a joke.

Mostly, no 6 calls don't piss me off. I die because I lose my SA, which has been horrible lately.
But, when there are 10 friendlies nearby, and only two enemy (one I am chasing, along with two friendlies) and the second riendly dive for my 6, and ALL the other knights do NOT call 6, I get irritated.
I call 6's as much as possible, even if it means possibly giving up a snapshot. If yu save a friendly pilot, well, the enemy has one more to fight.
But, while 6 calls have declined, I still feel that the quality knight pilots make them - Ziggie, crabo, WC, well, you all know who you are. We just need to educate the *new guys* in proper etiquette.
Has anyone ever created some form of AH ettiquette thing? Might be useful.

I don't get too bent out of shape over what happens in the MA, it is after all what we used to call in AW, a pork arena, ultimately just a place to practice for scenarios . Yes AH needs a historical arena, but when we get it you'll find that the majority of the players will still prefer pork .

Ram;
I get the notion that anyone who does not play how you want them to is a Dweeb. You ever consider that it could also be you who does not play the way that others want you to play?
It sounds like maybe your EGO is converting consistent thoughts into emotional thoughts. Emotional thoughts producing emotional outbursts. Have faith, this is somewhat true for most individuals. However; some choose to less vocal about it than you choose to be.
Get this...
The MA is un-organized un-structured amd mostly un-kind. There are no player rules in the MA. There are only boundaries set by HTC within the game. There is no grandious protocal or honor system for how to play. You get to play it anyway you want to as does any other individual who plays in the MA.
My suggestion? Take a break, you will enjoy the game much more as it tends to mellow out your perspective. You seem to be suffering a might from burnout.
At any rate, Good Luck! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

In defense of RAM I must explain why he was upset as I would have been just as upset if it was me on the other side of the crosshairs.
RAM, I can only assume you're talking about the kill I got on you at 26 yesterday. It was a furball ranging from about 0K to 12K where RAM was one of the highest alt Rooks (I was flying Knights as usual). I watched as RAM dove down to clear the six of another Rook pilot while saving that Rook RAM placed himself almost under me, I rolled, dove and followed RAM back up as he tried to gain his alt back after saving the other Rook (I was under RAM he could not see me) closed to 200 and fired 2 burst, the second burst removed his right wing. It was a clear case of no 6 call, he never jinked or did anything to avoid the shells until it was too late. If I remember correctly there were at least 8 Rooks airborne at that time.
RAM could have easily ran to the ack and hugged it like most of the Rooks have been doing at 26 for the last 3 days instead of saving the other Rook.
I saluted RAM on channel 1 and got a salute back.
I know this is not the only reason RAM posted his message here but I too feel the lack of fun and good fights slowly leaving the AH MA. Every single person I’ve brought to AH that subscribed has canceled their account except one and he’s told me this is his last month.
AH was such a challenge to me when I started in beta. I have less than 8 months of actual online flight experience with real players. I’m starting to be able to pick out the newbie’s by the way the fly and the lack of ACM. I’m not sure if it’s me that’s getting better or there’s just more people that are much worse than me. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) It appears that the quality of fights has drastically slowed down in the MA.

to RAM and all the other whining "experts"
from Sparks - dweeb cannon fodder
Point 1:-
AH has decent flight models that are hard to learn and some people will find it more difficult than others. This leads to people finding their own ways to survive as there is no structured training. If you are new and not very good and HO's get you some kills what would you do??
Point 2:-
If you want to stay alive and don't feel you're in a good position you run - thats natural. What may be different is peoples perception of a good position - especially for people who aren't good.
Point 3:-
If you want more people to fly against and more people to stay in AH then do you think calling people HO dweeb and chicken is an effective way of doing it??? If you think peoples tactics are wrong then try acting like adults and approaching them on private channel and maybe offer to show them what you mean in the TA.
Point :-
I have missed my share of 6 calls - why? .... when I'm in a dogfight I have enough trouble finding the zoom keys without typing as well - need more hands and a bigger brain - 'fraid it may have to wait for evolution or my skills to improve so to all you Bishes out there who see me join a dogfight - I'll call a six as soon as I get the brain power free (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I have a definition I like to use at times like this: - EXPERT[/i] - noun - "EX" as in "has-been" and "SPERT" as in "drip under pressure".......
If you want people to fly to your standard then teach them and support them while they learn - don't trash them on the BBS.

I don't want to get involved in the HO debate AGAIN but I think it's slightly ironic that the same people who ask for more realism <S!> whine about the HO's and runs which were a integral part of historical air combat. (ignore this I got carried away again (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) )
But the fact that the 6 calls are becoming as rare as nice fights in the arena pisses me off as well, maybe it will improve in time???? I think that if everbody tries to do it as often and accurate as possible more people will pick the habit up!
On the raids, When I was in my trial period, months ago everybody cooperated and together put an effort together, now there are only few people who are willing to set up a raid (2 or 3 at a time) Of course lotsa guys are in the air at all times but nowadays the response is very low......... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
maybe it'll improve in time??????
BTW: I anxiously await the historical Arenas, they will solve a lot I think!

Never ever trust on anyone else unless you know someone personally worth your trust.
Every time I've tried to trust on others, like in furballs etc., I've found out myself being alone with couple while ten others gangs on lone enemy on treetop level.
Never ever help anyone who has put himself obviously in helpless situation. (in situation where even 5 friendlies wouldn't be enough)
I remember once when I asked escorts for my B-26 at 12k altitude, 5 fighter jocks around me were up for covering me...
I called out low 109 which was no threat at all and asked them to just keep with me.. right after I yelled out 15k P-51 coming straight in 12, and noticed that everyone of them who agreed to escort me, were down to gang harmless 109, none stayed up! (happily I got P51 with loss of engine and cursed them all to hell in my mind)
so.. even if they tell they will cover you, don't trust them.
-
I've seen the 'escort buff' syndrome a fair few times Fishu! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Where's my escorts gone? I've got 3 high inbounds on me... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/eek.gif)
I try to give 6 calls when I can, sometimes it's difficult to tell just which direction some planes are going. I remember leaving a scene in a buff and noticing another buff had a 109 near it (had no idea whether it was pointing at the buff as there were many planes around). This was from about 7k away and I called 6 but it was too late. I then got moaned at for not calling 6 earlier yet there were many other countrymen closer to this buff than I was. Oh well....

Ok i suspect after Ram really squeaked at me last night for being a HO dweeb that a lot of this is aimed at me (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
A few points Ram did not and still does not know what my position was.
Just to clear it up i was south of 26 in a tiffie at approx 10k ? with my only friendly base a long way to the north, NO friendly aircraft around me, spotting a 109 on my six at about 8k i did not have many options but to turn North and try to blast through to a friendly base, by the time i had turned i was down to just over 25% fuel at about 200 knots with a very slight alt advantage nose on with RAM, SA check detected an enemy tiffie closing fast from my right about 1k below me, as we closed RAM just came straight on in dead on the nose. He did nothing to spoil a HO shot, he did nothing to work a lead turn, as we got closer he put his nose down slightly to pass under me which i usually interpret as an attempt to put lead into my belly as i pass over, i thought what the hell lets give him something to think about instead and fired, even so i dont believe i hit him with anything more than 1 shot if that. Being naturally combative and confident of my ability i did a SA check to find the Tiffie only 3k away and coming in fast, RAM was going vertical behind me in his 109.
So if we run this from here, 25% fuel, 109 on my High 6, Tiffie closing fast from my right, long way to friendly base and no friendlies to help.
Yea i guess i did aim for the nearest base and try to make it back with the 2 kills i already had, acquired with the age old Hit and Run technique, none of them were HO kills, they were kills because my targets did not have enuf SA to see me coming, yes they were already fighting my team mates and yes i picked them off without my team mates needing to call for a clear 6, but thats what team plays all about.
As for Ack hugging ? well i guess you would interpret a landing as Ack hugging, you constantly seem to try to put the worst interpretation upon everything anybody else does.
I notice you have complained about lack of teamplay, well i constantly sacrifice myself and my score trying to take off and defend capped bases because I DO IT FOR THE TEAM.
How often do you help your team like this ?
Then you have the cheek to constantly call me a Dweeb for using my SA and seeing a bad situation in time to avoid it.
Personally i think your the Dweeb for expecting a Tiffie to try and turn and fight with your High 190 especially with another enemy closing fast.
So do you want realistic play RAM or do you just want people to fly like idiots so you can get easy kills ?
After you spent many minutes calling me a HO Dweeb who has no idea how to fight, somebody suggested we swap planes and fly a duel, well no surprise when you ignored that (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I even asked if you would like to duel which you seemed to think funny at first, you even told how you duelled with Torque and because he is very good pilot he beat you, well unlike you i know what happens when i duel Torque in the training or free player arenas and i am confident enough to fly a duel with you IF you wish.
That is not a challenge or a hot headed attempt to kill you to show who has the biggest balls. I am too old for that sorta crap, but it would be nice to show that i know something about fighting (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Ok long post i guess and cant be asked to proof read it, so hope its coherent.
PS. Lifes too short so what happened yesterday is easily forgotten.

Ram you DID yell at the guy.
When you were told that someone DID give you a 6 call you saw who did it and called him by name and told him next time do it faster.
You then went off on people for not giving you 6 calls fast enough.
If I remember right you then had 4 or 5 guys(me included) telling you how ungrateful you were.

Mox...<S!>. Yes,that was the thing I am referring at. I cleared 2 rook sixes in a damaged Fw190A8 (I had a previous fight with a well flown 109 that damaged my right elevator, <S!> ede) only to find myself wingless with no 6 call at all. THere were not 8 but 9 (NINE) Rooks nearby, and, to put it worse, when I was wingless and smoking someone said "RAM 6".
IS more than disheartening. It is indignating.

I once was new, and I've never been too good. I HOed first 3 fights then I realized how stupid it was to be killed that way. I never huged ack because I felt it was cheating, and I never ran away from a good fight unless forced to (low fuel, out or ammo, or big damage). All that from the start.
Point 2:-
If you want to stay alive and don't feel you're in a good position you run - thats natural. What may be different is peoples perception of a good position - especially for people who aren't good.
I have nothing agaisnt wise running, to disengage at time is an art and I dont know when to run away (I always find myself against abysmal odds because that).
What I hate is people who having a big advantage (position and/or Energy), refuse to engage. And there are a lot of those in AH right now.
Point 3:-
If you want more people to fly against and more people to stay in AH then do you think calling people HO dweeb and chicken is an effective way of doing it??? If you think peoples tactics are wrong then try acting like adults and approaching them on private channel and maybe offer to show them what you mean in the TA.
Did it once. I wont put here what I got in answer but wanst very kind. Anyway I am currently putting a project up about all this.

When we are 2 mates against some enemies and I get no 6 call there is no problem.
When we are 9 on two and I've cleared 2 mates' six to save their butt risking mine, I DO HAVE A DAMNED BIG PROBLEM.
I have a definition I like to use at times like this: - EXPERT[/i] - noun - "EX" as in "has-been" and "SPERT" as in "drip under pressure".......

The funny thing is that I call them dweebs. Some of the people I call DWEEBS are newbies and so,they are dweebs. but some of them are experienced AH fliers that keep on gaming the game. And I have no problem in trashing them as they deserve.
BTW All and every time I've been asked for a bit of help in TA, I have left all and answered. I have helped a lot of people, I have no problem in it.
And I repeat I am working in an idea to get this thing right (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
-
Ram it may be worth remembering next time you start calling somebody a Dweeb that YOU are not in his plane, so YOU do not know what his fuel or damage state is.
So how can you decide if they are flying like a dweeb or using skill, and tactical awareness to disengage at the correct time for them ?

Right.
A few points Ram did not and still does not know what my position was.
Just to clear it up i was south of 26 in a tiffie at approx 10k ? with my only friendly base a long way to the north, NO friendly aircraft around me
False, you were two on two. Gruenhertz and me versus you and B52 maybe? in a La5 I was at the start on the La5 but gruenherz (much to my disgust, I must admit), killed it when I had drained his E up. You werent alone. so you start with a lie.Bad start. Lets follow.
spotting a 109 on my six at about 8k i did not have many options but to turn North and try to blast through to a friendly base, by the time i had turned i was down to just over 25% fuel at about 200 knots with a very slight alt advantage nose on with RAM, SA check detected an enemy tiffie closing fast from my right about 1k below me
Jigster, I guess. Yeah he was also a bit pissed off by your "smart" flying and so he got a tiffie to give you some of your own medicine (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif). He was just airborne, tho, so that statement about a tiffie closing fast cant be true, anyway.
as we closed RAM just came straight on in dead on the nose. He did nothing to spoil a HO shot
False. I did a 0 G dive under your nose. the proof I evaded is that you only got one ping (right flap gone). I had a 30mm on board and could have shot you out from the sky at the cost of my own skin. But I like to fly smart, not to be a (COUGH) HO dweeb.
he did nothing to work a lead turn, as we got closer he put his nose down slightly to pass under me which i usually interpret as an attempt to put lead into my belly as i pass over, i thought what the hell lets give him something to think about instead and fired, even so i dont believe i hit him with anything more than 1 shot if that.
This is utterly and pure crap. AT this point I had done a 0G dive to go under your belly and force you overshoot me (0g dives spoils well the aim of the incoming HO dweeb). I then did a low G loop. Its called a merge in this world. Maybe you dont know it?.
About the "what the hell lets fire this guy", you are a lier. You had done at least 2 HO passes before on other planes (I think Jigster died this way and that was the reason because he was pissed). So you only did the same thing as before. I Call that a intentional HO, one against a 30mm gunned 109G10. But as I say I like the smart flying not Nintendo games...lets follow.
Being naturally combative and confident of my ability i did a SA check to find the Tiffie only 3k away and coming in fast, RAM was going vertical behind me in his 109.
LOL I am very doubtful that Jig was closing in fast, he was just airborne (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) but this only can be confirmed by him
So if we run this from here, 25% fuel, 109 on my High 6, Tiffie closing fast from my right, long way to friendly base and no friendlies to help.
109 on your 6. not high 6. Dont lie I was dead at your 6, and slow after an immelmann. And again I doubt that jig was closing up with your 375mph IAS typhoon.
I saw your "hit and running" on other planes before engaging you LOL!. you "hit" them in headons. Well at least you tried to kill them (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).
As for Ack hugging ? well i guess you would interpret a landing as Ack hugging, you constantly seem to try to put the worst interpretation upon everything anybody else does.
The ack huggin thing has nothing to do with you. Its a completely different thing. And yes for a moment I thought you were going to hug ack, until I saw you landing. That was where I turned away.
I notice you have complained about lack of teamplay, well i constantly sacrifice myself and my score trying to take off and defend capped bases because I DO IT FOR THE TEAM.
That was a general statement, referred at the lack of response on the missions I planned. Again, nothing to do with you.
How often do you help your team like this ?
Spawn from capped fields? I ahve tons of films doing it. I dont fly for a score, that is why I fly lonewolf, that is why I dont ack hug and thats why I use to fight instead of running.
Then you have the cheek to constantly call me a Dweeb for using my SA and seeing a bad situation in time to avoid it.
Bah...that is a simple excuse. I have been in your pants (yes, with a tiffie against a 6 con, a SpitfireIX), and I've extended, zoomed and turned back. I had fun and so he had...and I won.
Personally i think your the Dweeb for expecting a Tiffie to try and turn and fight with your High 190 especially with another enemy closing fast.
I was in a 109G10. not a 190. I was at your six ,a bit higher, not much, but MUCH SLOWER. You had an E-advantage to work with. You ran home instead of fighting with your E-advantage. Dont tell me you disengaged to fight the odds. Typhoon can disengage at will from all planes only by diving to the deck and keep the run.
and BTW,G10 is not exactly the best turnfighter in the MA, still I dont refuse a close fight even with multiple targets, I extend and come back, you could have done it after your HO pass, to zoom away and dive on me. You ran home, instead of trying to fight. You had a 10K cushion to work with, altitude to exchange for speed if there was a need to run home. I have never called running deeb a plane that after trying to fight, used his superior speed to run away.
So do you want realistic play RAM or do you just want people to fly like idiots so you can get easy kills ?
You were higher in E. you were faster. you could have BnZ me for at least 2 more passes. You ran home. That is not expect you to fly like an idiot, it is to expect you to fly SMART. you were in a typhoon ,the fastest plane on the deck, so you could've disengaged at will if forced to do. You gave up the battlefield before time. In real life thats cowardice. Here, too, it is.
You asked for a duel. I answered that people that I disrespect have no place for me in a duel. I have duelled zigrat and Torque before, after hot head happenings (one my fault other NOT my fault (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)). They are both great pilots that know how to fight. You have no idea of it and so I told you that the duel was rejected.
Earn my respect as you did once on the TA (yes I remember you bouncing my 75% loaded G10 with your G6, I was VERY near reversing tables most of the time...and I was always much lower in E.), and then I may think in a duel with you. I know you aren't better than me, saw the proof yesterday.
PS. Lifes too short so what happened yesterday is easily forgotten.
heh...nice olive branch. Sad ,I wont bite. Think whatever you want of me. I have my own ideas about you,as I have already stated.

With the present flight model the F4U (both C and D) must either run or HO if it loses the the initial "advantage". Since most guys don't fly to die, they will of course seek the "cover" of ack if disadvantaged, and of course if you are in a plane that doesnot handle well in a T & B you will "run" for position as that is the strength of your plane (thinking of P-51) and so it goes the endless "whining" about this and that in the MA and even in the SEA if the "event" is improperly setup. Right now if I see a G10 above me I go defensive because I cannot out run him or out turn him and my ONLY hope is to best him in a "head on" situation since most of my "options" are gone (since he CANNOT compress and can use trim to defeat that feature in the game I cannot use better dive to evade etc etc) NOTE: this is NOT a whine on the G10 but rather just the facts as I see them. I try to fly for the fun and to fly the ride I like best even if it is NOT the best ride in the game, therefore my score SUCKS but I am still having FUN (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Folks,
The things we must remember:
#1.. YOU may be the first and lasting impression to a new pilot in AH!
#2.. Please take the time to salute and help the new pilots.
#3.. You have the power of an instructor every time you type in the buffer.

Having stayed away from this unfriendly board, and the even uglier ch. 1 for a while,
I must say, (before going back to silent running) If the damned game bothers ya that much, why don't ya take a hike? oh, and take stupid and idiot and all the other freaking morons who can't enjoy themselves with ya, go out and run over some dogs or something, 'cause for me, it ain't the planes, the skills, or the limitations of the whoopee game that piss me off, it's the constant flow of verbal crap from folks that can't ever be happy, and who not allow anyone else to be happy. Build a gawddam time machine and go back to 1943, hopefully some real-life HO "dweeb" will pop ya a new one in ur forehead!
JeeZ! It's a gawddam game ya freaks! open the door walk outside ya house, I think some folks need a little air!
(To all I may have offended, I'm sorry for the outburst, but I, and IMHO, the silent majority, have had enough, if HTC wants to put up with this crap, so be it, but I don't find this fun, and that's that)

Ok RAM or should i call you GOD ?
Apparently you know everything about all the other planes position and E.
But by your own admission earlier your own SA is so bad that your all the time getting pounced by superior numbers, so i hardly think that makes you an authority on how i see the tactical situation from my plane.
Bottom line is i got out of what was gonna be a very bad situation, the Tiffie was there and closing fast 90 deg on my right wing about 1 k below me, as it was by blowing straight thro he still got as close as 3k, now with you about 3 k on my 6 that would have been suicide for me to try any sort of turn move to engage you, i could see it but i guess your SA is definitely lacking. Another point as i extended south of 26 for another attack run, oops sorry i forgot when others do it its not extending its "running away" i could see the last of my team mates going down smoking. When i came back north i was alone.
As for killing Jigster in a HO well yea i guess it was kinda if its the plane i think it was, i believe he was a P51 fighting one of my team mates and as i came in i was lucky enuf to catch him climbing and filling my sights with a lovely plan view, so yea i filled his cockpit full of lead i guess some of it passed through his virtual skull and exited from his arse so i would call that a HO shot (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Ram as for saying i should have tried to zoom away and come back and fight, you have already stated in your earlier post that you consider it ok to disengage when low on fuel, so whats the problem here i have said i had 25% and that tiffie sucks fuel bigtime on full throttle as it was i ran outa fuel trying to get onto the refuel pad.
For me i made the correct call to exit when i did.
Even if i did have the fuel to fight should a tiffie enter into a Zoom fight with a 109G10 ?
Lets see Tiffie loses E BIG time in turns and climbs, and 109G10 climbs like a lovesick angel.
Guess i still made the correct call for me, sorry RAM but thats one easy kill that you missed and no matter how much you whine you cant change that.
I suggest you play the game to your rules RAM hoping for easy kills, and dont attack others for daring to fly differently to your plan.
Oh yes i just noticed a 10k cushion to work with ?? HAHAHA
Think back RAM when we flew HO it was just that, you slightly below me i would say less than 500ft thats no cushion at all against the best climbing plane in AH.
Lastly i fly other ladders than AH and i am known for avoiding HO shots because if your staying to fight its usually the worst way to open, but if your blowing on through it may put enemy off enuf to gain vital seconds, in your case it sure did rattle your cage (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Anyway i wonder who would be more at fault the guy who takes the offered HO shot or the target who did not take steps to avoid it ?
But then that would assume taking a HO shot is wrong, aaaah wait we want realism i hear you cry! Well for some in WW2 and still today a correctly executed HO attack is perfectly viable. Its a lottery sure but still they did it.
I guess i should add the ritual insult now but theres no point really, i will just say many people told me what a tosser you were and altho i try to keep an open mind it seems you are determined to prove them right.
Damn this is nearly as much fun as flying (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

5. Open text box, type .squelch 2
6. Open canopy, toss out mic headset
7. hit 'e', slap throttle to firewall

This is retarded.
Ram, ya really gotta learn when it's time to give it a rest. Honestly bud. Do you seriously think that yer complaining is gonna change things? That it's gonna make everyone fly 'smart' and just exactly how you want them to? Not a chance.
And you know that Ram. Just what then do you intend to achieve with these posts? One big downer s'all it is. And frankly, it's embarrasing to watch.
Buck up and find yer way to a perspective that allows you to enjoy the game while at the same time letting people fly the way they gawdamn well please.
Please.
ps..
When I let buddies take the stick and give this game a try, they fly towards the dot and fire when the dot gets big. That simple. I can't remember but I think this is how we all started out flying. So...
pps.
There's a sort of understanding that goes along with callin' someone a dweeb. Just what constitutes a dweeb, etc. We all have varied understandings of it, but they orbit around the same general area. Newbies? Well, they're just baby seals. Nothing to get too worked up about. Now, dweebs? Well, Ram, my better judgement tells me to shut up at this point. Yer a talented pilot. Just... be a man about this stuff - and simply let yer guns do the talkin'. Don't try and force people into 'your' way, however 'right' it is.
As frustrating as it may be, ya can really only lead by example here. So take a minute and think about the example you want to set before ya get the desire to open up on channel one.

Yanno those 2 kills?
First time I locked up with Vik and he shot half my wing off when I followed a bad rope. So I managed to level a run with what was left of my plane as far south as possible. Before I whacked the ground. No SA involved there anyway (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) And then still, I managed to out roll your Tiff when you flew up my arse, and forced an overshoot. Then once I blew my speed, the lack of a wing forced me into the ground. Why ya got the kill I'll never know.
But don't go preachin I didn't have enough SA to see ya coming.
I guess it's true, what happened yesterday is easily forgotton (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Second, Me and Vik were locking up, have a wonderful Split-S-a-thon when I spotted your Tiff 4k out. Nothing I could do, I was already locked up with an La5 in a P-38. What was SA suppose to do for me? I watched. I was aware. Oh well.
From my POV ya stole both of them. (although the second is debatable, I might of got him, to early to tell)
I am from that old Air Warrior creed that believes in letting those engaged finished if there is no immediate danger, as we were. Just a nice lil 1 on 1. (And because they always end up on the deck and the B n Z is that much easier) So shooting a guy out from under another's nose (even if it's me getting shot) ruffles my feathers.
But I have no problems with it. I was the Tiff too. Had a great fight with ede afterwards.
I not one to agree Ram, but if ya aren't going to make an effort to fight with it, don't take it. I never saw you lock up the whole night (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

BigJim is right, RAM. There's not too much a person can do in a Tiffie except HO when approaching a relatively even merge. I know I certainly wouldn't be stupid enough to try to fight a 190 on even terms in my Tiffie.
RAM, please stop. This is getting embarrassing, and you will regret continuing to argue with people in this thread.
One thing I've learned the hard way, through four years of Warbirds and almost one of Aces High: You and only you are responsible for your butt. Six calls are great if you can get them, but you can't(and shouldn't) count on them. You're doing the right thing by continuing to call other people's six, and to clear them. Someday, they will repay your kindness. But don't demand it, it's only to going to hurt your credibility and respect

Depends on whether he is facing an A5 or a real man's A8.
Then again, a plane that climbs at less than 1.5k/s over 12k with a dt shouldn't be too hard to reverse on. I'll go for a HO when I am in an A8 and am looking to blow through the enemy and then rtb. My chances vs virtually any plane in a co alt, co e merge in the A8 are slim, if the other pilot is just half decent.
And, he can run. A Tiffie outran my 109G10 yesterday - and I had alt and full WEP.

Hi RAM i know u can be a nice guy.
I want too say ur very wrong about Cavalier
I know him from EAW and flown with him on the zone and on the EAW ladder against him he is a very sportive and very good experienced propsimpilot. He is also too find on the top off the ladder with a very good killratio. Much better as mine yes cav is a smart pilot. I wasn't sure cavalear was cavalier otherwise i would certainly helped him on the general chat.
I think u went over the line in general chat
U might have a bad day RAM i don't believe u can be like that some excuse could be on the place here
Now u can say EAW is a dweep sim but EAW got a very fast changing acm. Not a bad sim too learn what to do or what not to do.

As well it should in most cases. The Tiffie may be a total dog in most ways but down on the deck it is at least 15mph faster than the G10 (380mph vs low 360's), and 13mph faster than the P51. Even the Pony is faster than the G10 below about 5,000ft.
About the only plane I can think of that we may get in the near future that could stay with a Tiffie on the deck is the La7, which can also do about 380mph on the deck.

Odd, I never can keep up with 51's at altitude, but in the G10 I am (sometimes) able to do so close to the ground.
The tiffie is another deal. I mean, the guy didn't have much alt to work with but very quickly he was up to full speed, and not even a powerdive from my side did much good.
Sorta makes me wish it was German. Basically an A8 with high deck speed.

Jig have you ever checked out the Tiffies roll rates ? they are abysmal so its no surprise you could outroll me even so that first kill i did put some bullets into you now whether i deserved the kill or somebody else did ? i guess i mebbe got a proximity kill.
But was it a HO kill ? No
As to second kill again it was not a HO kill yes as i said before i picked you off while you were fighting another plane, but my point is whats wrong with that ? The MA is supposed to be a team game and we were there to attack your base and knock you down not to hold off and wait just because you wanted a nice friendly 1v1 with another plane ! If you want that do as i do go to TA or free player games.
I notice you did not deny you were fast closing from my right and not far below me tho as i rtb, of course turning to try to follow me blew any E you had and chance of catching me but if i had stayed i was gonna be dead meat very quickly.
Btw i fully expect to be killed many times by both of you during my stay in AH and i may well gnash my teeth and kick toejame outa the cat but i sure as hell will not shout DWEEB or HO DWEEB all over the channels or pollute this BBS with crap like this thread.

And to paraphrase your own words...Tiffy is burns to much turning and climbing.
So here I am just lifting off, meanwhile yer streaking by at max speed I just happen to get a glimpse of the icon before your out of dot range. At which point ede, in a 109 dives in and we have a terrific turn fight, and I win later by making a 90 degree deflection shot with one hispano hit that rips both of his stabilizers off (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
Needless to say I was nowhere near ya, just to clear that up.
Tiffie has a nice intial turn rate, good for about 2 quick revs (and if ya need more then that with 4 hispanos ya got issues)
Better to die and learn what don't work then to run away and never learn. All within that scope of unlimited lives, yanno. But then again that's just my personal philosophy.

I dont like to fight the odds, if you want a Main arena full of stupid idiotic pseudofights ending in abnormal HOs is what you'll get, regardless of what I say or do.

I am working on a new squad that will train ,and ready, newbies to survive in MA. So I will be a trainer on my own way, I dont need an official title from HTC, nor I dont need the lack of paying during 6 months that it is attached to it (and that is the reason for many people wanting to be a trainer).
I want to train people because I love it and I will do it in TA as I do right now and I will start doing it,with the new squad, in MA too.
So I dont mind what I can seem in BBS or MA. I dont need the official training title to do it. And I dont mind if I am given it or not.
Clear? well.

[/b]
No, you didn't. I kept right on rolling into the ground after ya flew by and you got a proximity kill.
or somebody else did ? i guess i mebbe got a proximity kill.
But was it a HO kill ? No
[/b]
I never said it was a HO kill. I never whined about. Not a word, now did I? I could care less about front quarter gunnery shots. The only person I ever say anything to about them is Kbman. And we have a mutual agreement that I'm just jesting (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I'm trying not to preach my flying style on anyone, thought I made it clear that was merely my own feelings toward taking another's kill.
[/b]
Yanno you outta re-read my post. Notice I said I have NO, none what so ever, problems with this! But it is my feeling, and mine alone that this constitutes reaping an easy kill from another countryman. I do have a serious problem about dying without giving a good account to myself. But then again that's because I'm a dweeb. And I now I've sure been squeaked at before when I happened to "help" another country man that didn't ask for it.
If you want that do as i do go to TA or free player games.
[/b]
I have dweeby ethics and I know this. As I said, I have no problem with the way the arena play is...sheesh.
Besides I'd rather fight 2 and 3 vs just me, but danggit it's hard if they engage at seperate times. Oh well. I was just kinda pissed because of your remarks about "poor SA".
I notice you did not deny you were fast closing from my right and not far below me tho as i rtb, of course turning to try to follow me blew any E you had and chance of catching me but if i had stayed i was gonna be dead meat very quickly.
[/b]
Come on dude, I had just brought the wheels up when you came into dot range. I was headed NE when your icon showed up. I never got closer then 6k, and that was because you were flying perpendicular to me.
I hate to say it but, sheesh, If your worried about a Tiffy that's 5k below you and still climbing when your going all out level, AND outrunning a 109, maybe you do have a few issues (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
At that point ede, and some other Knight dove in, the other kept on to 26 and ede and I had a wonderful fight all the way to the deck, where the Hispanos won out over his G10.
Btw i fully expect to be killed many times by both of you during my stay in AH and i may well gnash my teeth and kick toejame outa the cat but i sure as hell will not shout DWEEB or HO DWEEB all over the channels or pollute this BBS with crap like this thread.
[/b]
And neither do I. I dunno what the heck ya read outta my post but it's like your trying to pick a fight with me.
I was just trying to clarify what happened, and I was kinda joking in my other post if ya didn't pick that up. I guess not (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
May i suggest to anybody wanting to take a turn as a trainer that posting threads like this where you whine and act like an infant is not likely to make the HT team think yea he's the sort that we want to represent our company.
Nuff said besides this threads getting too big to load comfortably (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I'm gonna have to make bigger disclaimers I guess. [sarcasm] [irony] etc.
I get shot down. ALOT. Learn and re-spawn yanno.
But, it's pretty obvious you weren't paying much attention (eh no biggie, show how big a dweeb I am, paying attention to a game) a therefore don't have much right coming in and insulting somebody about it. If it weren't for that I never would of responded in the first place.
I try and do everything light-heartedly, albeit with alot of sarcasm mixed in, and conduct myself in a proper manner.
Then again maybe your not responding to me and I'm totally off.
Either way, I am the silent dweeb.

Jig i really wished i had taped this because i really saw you at 3k, who knows why we saw it differently but i am not gonna argue with you about it, with all the lag and connect problems people seem to be getting with AH these last few weeks it probably had some part to play.
I am also well aware of the advantages and disadvantages of various airfoil designs and there affect on roll rates, (even with part of a wing missing) again this is an example of people jumping to conclusions and assuming somebody they do not know is a "Newbie" or a "Dweeb". Whilst on that subject i guess my comments about lack of SA where uncalled for as i was not in your cockpit or flying your plane and therefore not qualified to comment.
For some reason you seem to think i was afraid to stay and fight ?
Hmm not so lack of fuel and a possible case of 2v1 with me flying a brick was the only reason to rtb.
But i guess nobody else goes rtb when fuel dictates.
Anyway you did assume all the comments were aimed at you which they were not, my error for not posting specific replies i guess.
Maybe i need to ref each phrase as you do but then Ram and you "probably" have more experience at this sorta thing.
Jigster i have no issues with you or the way you have behaved at all, at no time have you even mentioned the word Dweeb or complained of HO shots or tried to insult me, well apart from assuming i dont know about the effect a shortening of a wing has on roll rates (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
No matter what has gone before i will still leave all disagreements behind me here in this BBS, i will kill or help anybody in the MA as the game dictates regardless of who they are without any apologies or name calling.
Ram to finish i respect your desire to help and train people to fly in AH and i wish you luck with it, i checked out the thread but decided against posting any sort of msg as i thought your reply might spoil the thread.
Yea i know you dont give a Ratz As_s what i think (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Well I basing that on the P-38 only gaining a signifgant roll gain at very high speed where the boosted ailerons come into play. P-38 is a big bellybutton plane that needs alot of inertia to get it rolling, where as the Tiff is pretty much better through the whole envelope (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

all I know is every time RAM posts a lot in a topic I end up through no fault of my own reading the topic twice just by virtue of his need to quote every word everyone posts in his own posts.
it's kind of annoying (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Its sickening. I am tired of no skill HO dweebs (not that I've died this way a lot lately, but only to see people trying it sickens me), of no skill running guys, of no skill ack huging guys, of no 6 call guys (just got a 6 call...when I had no wing ), of lack of teamwork (tried twice tonight to put up a mission, only 3 people answered out of 34), of lack of fun.
-RAM
Pilots are getting more and more comfortable with the furball till you die method of gameplay. Hardly any planned missions anymore. People who knock down fields end up calling for C-47s that never show up.
We need to get historical scenarios going so we can have an alternative to the MA.
ra

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No no no, you got me wrong.
We captured one base "in extremis" ( Asmo), and then we failed in the next one (a 190 got 2 jabo p47s because my computer locked when I was in his six )
But today... and other days...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahh nevermind...
but... ya know, I always see the guy that goes HO as dead, just an easy kill in most cases.
Yesterday I had a great 51 vs 190 fight, we each had 4 or 5 opportunities to take the HO shot after rev'ing, but didnt. Rather both trying to get position, I had a blast! Thanks HT!
Whoah... Damn. Well said Fatty.
Btw Ram, are you in a squad? Perhaps this would liven things up a bit for ya?
We might all be rookies all over again .
And in events everybody is working together towards a realistic military goal, not some points contest or vulch fest.
the Main Arena and Aces High are not one and the same to me.
MA is just a Free for all gangbang alt monkey ackhuggin vulch o rama type of place just like the MA in WB or any other flight sim.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont know ram. the guys killing me are usually ones I recognize HO or not.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Screw using K/D. I don't fly for K/D. Points, baby, yeah. They should be worth something
I don't fly for points either, but hey, i get alot of them
The 5 mile IFF icons and the AWACS display are the big turnoffs for me in the MA.
7. Perk planes would go along way in keeping experienced people interested and give the others something to strive for, and should probably be based solely on the kill/death ratio , say like it takes 20 kills (maybe make jets avail to those with 50 kills) and no deaths to obtain a perkplane, that way everyone if they really tried to avoid unecessary deaths by respawing alot or ho'ing alot can get their little hands on a perkplane till they die in it, and the perkplane should be repairable on the pad but maybe take like 20 mins sittin to repair.Maybe anyone with a 1.0 or less k/d ratio should not even be able to get a perk plane till 30 kills are obtained."
Wow the Alt f4rs get the perk planes. That would be great.

What do you suggest take the place of the dar we have? WW2 pilots had some informantion about what was going on arround them.......
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL, RAM. And you said look who's crying?
Waaaa.
You should practice. May I suggest the training arena?
Hmmm... not accepted as an instructor... Can't get people to follow your lead...
Anyone else notice a pattern?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like someone said in the HO thread...I'll take the HO if I see the other guy trying to avoid it. This has always been the case for me.
OTOH, if I see they're positioning for the HO, I'll try to avoid it and hope they're a bad shot ..unless of course I'm too slow to move outa the way.
If a guy I'm fighting runs away, I consider the fight won and just say to myself "hmm..no sweat...next" and move on.
Only time I really get pissed is if I have to log off after a death..I hate that!
Ex.

I will run if I feel it is necessary to do so.
Until I see someone else's name on my AH credit card bill, I will fly the way I want to. Me being a 'so-called" dweeb? Yea. So what!
OH BTW Hang! THat Mustang website? I used alot of the photos in there to create a slide show for my screen saver. Just too cool! That Mustange is one purddy aircraft!!

[PowerWhine] and [/PowerWhine] functions, for this BBS, seem to be in full effect and working properly. That, at least, I am glad to see!

As for killing Jigster in a HO well yea i guess it was kinda if its the plane i think it was, i believe he was a P51 fighting one of my team mates and as i came in i was lucky enuf to catch him climbing and filling my sights with a lovely plan view, so yea i filled his cockpit full of lead i guess some of it passed through his virtual skull and exited from his arse so i would call that a HO shot
Lastly i fly other ladders than AH and i am known for avoiding HO shots because if your staying to fight its usually the worst way to open, but if your blowing on through it may put enemy off enuf to gain vital seconds, in your case it sure did rattle your cage
Damn this is nearly as much fun as flying
I guess RAM thinks so too as he seems to get involved in quite a few of these
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Btw Cav I never got closer then 6k. Dunno what the heck you were seeing but your memmory ain't to good
And to paraphrase your own words...Tiffy is burns to much turning and climbing.
So here I am just lifting off, meanwhile yer streaking by at max speed I just happen to get a glimpse of the icon before your out of dot range. At which point ede, in a 109 dives in and we have a terrific turn fight, and I win later by making a 90 degree deflection shot with one hispano hit that rips both of his stabilizers off
Needless to say I was nowhere near ya, just to clear that up.
I are dweeb.

Not near. I am not calmed down, and I dont drink, not out of weekends, I mean.
I simply get tired of seeing a MA full of dweeb fights, stupid tactics, and boring action. And worse still, of so many people approving it.
I dont like to fight the odds, if you want a Main arena full of stupid idiotic pseudofights ending in abnormal HOs is what you'll get, regardless of what I say or do.
I know it, but sometimes I simply refuse to accept it without protesting, and a thread like this happens. And I always end being flamed. You know what? That I dont mind a F*** Ratz prettythang.
The day that this turns into something I cant stand I'll be gone. And It wont be long after it that many people will go too after me. I am warning-People who wanted A LOT to fly Aces High online now say they wont pay for such boring experience-But noone wants to listen.

Clear? well.

I never said it was a HO kill. I never whined about. Not a word, now did I? I could care less about front quarter gunnery shots. The only person I ever say anything to about them is Kbman. And we have a mutual agreement that I'm just jesting

As to second kill again it was not a HO kill yes as i said before i picked you off while you were fighting another plane, but my point is whats wrong with that ? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yanno you outta re-read my post.

Come on dude, I had just brought the wheels up when you came into dot range. I was headed NE when your icon showed up. I never got closer then 6k, and that was because you were flying perpendicular to me.
I hate to say it but, sheesh, If your worried about a Tiffy that's 5k below you and still climbing when your going all out level, AND outrunning a 109, maybe you do have a few issues
At that point ede, and some other Knight dove in, the other kept on to 26 and ede and I had a wonderful fight all the way to the deck, where the Hispanos won out over his G10.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And neither do I. I dunno what the heck ya read outta my post but it's like your trying to pick a fight with me.

I'm gonna have to make bigger disclaimers I guess. [sarcasm] [irony] etc.

I try and do everything light-heartedly, albeit with alot of sarcasm mixed in, and conduct myself in a proper manner.
Then again maybe your not responding to me and I'm totally off.

Jigster i have no issues with you or the way you have behaved at all, at no time have you even mentioned the word Dweeb or complained of HO shots or tried to insult me, well apart from assuming i dont know about the effect a shortening of a wing has on roll rates
Yea i know you dont give a Ratz As_s what i think

Well I basing that on the P-38 only gaining a signifgant roll gain at very high speed where the boosted ailerons come into play. P-38 is a big bellybutton plane that needs alot of inertia to get it rolling, where as the Tiff is pretty much better through the whole envelope

As I aproached a30 from A7, I was at 8k cruising along at 300. There was a giant furball going on at 30 and all of our hangars were down. I was hoping to catch some low enemy or a c47.
When I neared 30, an enemy dot apeared about 2k above and directly in front of me. I decided to hold my speed at 300 and continued climbing slowly. As the con neared, I saw it was a p-51. A high fast p51... crap I thought. Then the p-51 began descending... flying straight at my F4u-1c. I couldn't help but think "what the hell.. he'd have me if he stayed high".
He dove towards my nose and I was expecting him to go slightly below me then go vertical and come back down. Instead, he closed to about 1.2 k then began a slow bank to his left (my right). I had 300 knots going for me and was able to close the 1.2k instantly once it was a side aspect shot. I got a good burst off into the plane's belly as he banked away. A pilot kill was my reward.
RAM: Nice HO AK... I expected better from you.
When it seems like its everyone else that is HO'ing... its doubtful that it is actually everyone else's fault.

From my FE side.
I was going towards A7 after a close fight with HT. I was a bit less that 200 IAS (climbing, autoclimb set to 190). I saw a lower, faster F4U and I did a straight 0G dive towards his left side. I hit 300IAS and levelled the plane ,thinking in my next move after the merge. The F4U was on the right side of my screen ,1 o clock or so (a bit less).
CRASH ! BOOM! PLONK!.ded.
AKdejavu, I DID expect more than you. If I was faster then Id' have done a zoom climb (I'm not stupid ,sir, seems you think I am, but I'm not), and got you in the hammerhead. Damnit is my FAVORITE move in the fw190A8!.
I did a 0G dive I flew straight. Was FULLY my responsability (no evasives, at all. You said that I started them too late, I did start a pullup to zoom the P51). Still you DID headon me. I did a VERY Stupid move, but you did a VERY dumb Headon.
Sorry if it hurts, it is like that.
To say the truth I sucked all night long. I winged with Leon after it and he flew much better than me (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif). My move on the merge was stupid, seems I dont learn, all the people in MA headons so next time I will do some evasives.
I fell confident and I died. My fault, not yours.
Still you did a HO. It is a dumb move one on one (ok, flame me because I say this about a "valid" tactic (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)). I said it on #1. You didnt like it?.Then sorry. If you dont like it next time pull and zoom and start some fine ACM fight instead a cheap HO move.
BTW I have something to tell to Cavalear: maybe you had #1 squelched, but <S!> on the fight you had vs 2 Yak9s. I was the stupid Yak that crashed (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I still need to learn to NOT compensate with left rudder in this plane (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Spinned and bye bye (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif). Was a very good flying. Good to see that you know to fight too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).
Renfield, you are like a jackal. Worse, you are like a hyena. Vultures have more morale fiber than you. Get lost ,dweeb.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong here. I could very well be, I've only been playing these flying games since CK.v91.(what was that? 1994?) Isn't the entire point of air combat to shoot down the enemy? Don't you need to bring your guns to bear on the enemy to shoot him down? Now as I recall, anyone(RAM excluded) would tell you that as long as the ENEMIES guns are not facing you and YOURS are facing him then it's not a "stupid" move. I fail to see how it is stupid to bring your guns to bear on an enemy and shoot him down if his guns are not facing you. You are supposed to kill the enemy as quickly as possible without killing yourself. Sounds like DJ did just that.
I'd call it a smart move, but I guess I'm just a dumb P38 flying allied-opportunist HO dweeb.....
Now back to your regurlarly scheduled pointless thread.

Lol Ram yes it was not a "wise" fight for me to get into, I think i was chasing a 190 around when you 2 arrived, not a good time to be experimenting with an F4U. Still it was bed time so i thought stay until dead, i only just cleared the deck as you followed me down and i could see you had no chance of pulling outa it now i know why.
I cant remember which plane i removed the wing from but alas the third was saddling me up even as i took it out.
<S!> to all of you was fun while it lasted.
-
Moral fiber? (not morale) You discount the story as told by my FE and my posted film of our so-called HO encounter (you never posted yours), yet now you hide behind your FE in this encounter with DJ? You are always the pure one aren't you, RAM?
I stand by my comment - you are a hypocrite. You bleat about the tactics of anyone who kills you and defend your painfully-flawed position to the end. That is stupidity.
I have yet to see a single post that supports your rants, dweeb. You should try buying a clue.
Sorry if it hurts, it is like that. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Damn.. you sure love to twist it around RAM. You are outright lying here. I feel bad that you have to resort to these actions.
I was flying straight toward 30. You were flying directly from it. Now.. at what time did you "aproach my left side"? I can tell you when.. NEVER. No ammount of lag can make that happen RAM. BTW.. I'm kinda wondering how a p51 can dive from 3k above and still not be over 300 ias? Gonna have to call BS on that one too.
Now.. as for your "at 1 o'clock"... I'll call BS on that too. There is no way I can shoot at your belly before you started to roll. Its simply not possible. Your actions are delayed to me.. as mine are to you. I shot your belly... yet somehow I managed to HO you before you actually made the turn?
Hmmmmmm.
RAM.. its not your FE its you. You see things as you think they were. Anything to justify you making a bad move. This is why people refer to you as being a hypocrite.
The reason you were in front of my aircraft is because you dove there. I had no intentions of climbing 3k to HO you.
Yet you fly straight at someone.. then say THEY HO'd you.
You twist the story to actually make it sound worse than it was when it was quite simple. You dove on my nose... end of story. That makes you the type of HO dweeb you complain so much about.
I'm not under the impression that if you'd come at me with guns a blazing I wouldn't have returned the favor... It would have been to my advantage to do so. However, that's not what happened as much as you'd like everyone to believe. You played chicken and lost. You had alt and you had e and the best you could do was dive on my nose.
You began whining as a result.

Ok dejavu. Now you call me lier. This is, too, my last answer to a post by you. Still as you remain civil (more or less) I will refute your arguments and state mines. Excuse me about the quoting I'll do but I want to go point by point.

Ask HT if I engaged him on a close fight or not. Ask mosca (he killed HT,I got an assist on him) if it is true or not. I just engaged HT and was climbing after it. There is no lie here.
Now.. at what time did you "aproach my left side"? I can tell you when.. NEVER. No ammount of lag can make that happen RAM.
I did a 0G dive pointing a bit left (from my point of view, it is a bit right from yours). I have had a lot of collisions in merges for not keeping enough latteral separation and it is something I ALWAYS do.
BTW.. I'm kinda wondering how a p51 can dive from 3k above and still not be over 300 ias? Gonna have to call BS on that one too.
Starting at 190mph,climbing. I didnt start the dive until I saw you were clearly faster than me and ready to whip my bellybutton if I stayed that slow.
Now.. as for your "at 1 o'clock"... I'll call BS on that too. There is no way I can shoot at your belly before you started to roll.
relative position on my screen, low 1 o clock. I started to bank just when I thought I was about to merge. I planned to do a wide low G high yoyo and try to rope you. Then BANG BANG CRASHH!!! bye bye.
Its simply not possible. Your actions are delayed to me.. as mine are to you. I shot your belly... yet somehow I managed to HO you before you actually made the turn?
you are seeing me with delay. Very possibly more delay than me to you. Your time to HTC is surely less than mine (I was 380ms at that time, ping plotter on all time and in alt route it is 50-100ms slower). I dont know well how does lag work. I know what I saw. I thought I was about to merge you (less than 100 yards to merge) I rolled left and started to pull. And bye bye. Dont ask me how dont tell me why I dont know net things. I know what I saw and I tell it just as I saw it.
RAM.. its not your FE its you. You see things as you think they were. Anything to justify you making a bad move. This is why people refer to you as being a hypocrite.
There is no justify here. I have already stated more than 10 times here and online that was my fault. MY fault. Still I were killed in a merge, in a way I could only take as a HO. You say it isnt a HO? that you shot my belly? ok, then. Nice work. I saw a HO ,but have no reason to doubt about you. You seem to have a lot to doubt a lot about me . Your problem, not mine.
The reason you were in front of my aircraft is because you dove there. I had no intentions of climbing 3k to HO you.
200IAS and you want me to remain still? I saw you diving damnit, I knew that was a clear move to win speed and start any low G move to get me. If I was going to have a chance I needed speed and i needed it FAST!. I dived, tried to go under you, but as you were diving o that proved impossible, then I banked and BANG.
Yet you fly straight at someone.. then say THEY HO'd you.
I flew straight. My fault (again). I didnt evade. My fault (again). I took it as a HO. My fault? no,sir, is what I saw.
You twist the story to actually make it sound worse than it was when it was quite simple. You dove on my nose... end of story. That makes you the type of HO dweeb you complain so much about.
Heh. Yes I expect people wanting to survive in MA, not to go suicide HOs all day long. That is why I rant so much about it.I am an ingenuous? maybe. But HOs are the stupidest move in this world and nothing will stop me repeating it.
And I didnt twist anything. No need to that. I died, my fault (again), but I saw a HO and I said in #1 that I expected more from you. End of story.
I'm not under the impression that if you'd come at me with guns a blazing I wouldn't have returned the favor...
fortunately I was wise enough not to do the 1.3K MG fake burst I use to do in 190s...well in fact when I do them I evade after it so you'd havent got me.
It would have been to my advantage to do so. However, that's not what happened as much as you'd like everyone to believe. You played chicken and lost. You had alt and you had e and the best you could do was dive on my nose.
I had alt, but E was on your side. 3K difference with a notable lower speed from my side?. Sorry that is a VERY disadvantageous position for a P51.
I didnt play chicken. I dived 0G. I didnt evade, my fault (again). But I saw what I saw and so I told it.
You began whining as a result.
[/QUOTE]
I didnt whine in any moment. In fact I was very surprised to see you doing a HO. But well I wont argue anymore.
AK, do whatever you want. THink whatever you want. Say whatever you want. I know what did I saw and I know that I died because my fault ( again). But I saw a HO and I said that I didnt expect that from you.
you say it wasnt?. OK. fine. GK. I have no reason to doubt about you. Seems you have a lot of them to doubt about me.
Your problem.Not mine.
