I'm imagining the crowd getting their blood boiling again, waiting to argue about this, but I have concrete proof as to why the Luftwaffe lost.
The 109 pilots couldn't resist English Sheep! :)

Sheep were way ahead because they were on the defensive.

This was partly offset by advanced tactics, and the fact that Sheep cuts out under negative G.
I take an Emil over an English Sheep any time.

Yeah but the sheep were clearly better ground attack aircraft. They could really 'cut the grass' in a low level dogfight. The Emil just couldn't compete in that element.

I have to admit that. I have seen some horrid pictures of areas that Sheep gave a pounding. Really scary, even compared to the fabled Purple Milchkuh of the Alps. The grass just disappears. One bite from the Sheep and it`s all gone.
However they say Sheep also had a special version for higher altitudes, in which the covering layer and camo is stripped and sandfiltered for less weight and better aerodynamics. It`s called the Sheep H.F., if I recall correctly. Do you have any details on this ?

No details but I did come across some just declassified information that shows the methods Emil pilots employed to train for dealing with the sheep. In the background you can see they took into account both the LF and HF variants of English sheep

Note that it appears the German tactics were to try and shoot down the sheep as they slowed at the top of their climb. They seemed to be the most vulnerable at that point.

That 109 went for those sheep like a horse heading to water. No way to turn it. That or the blood migrated from the pilot's head to his, errr, giant knackwurst, when he sae the sheep and landed for a whiff.
