Its funny how some people need to express their hatred for something whenever possible and only point out things as negatives... Just like the politicans...  And to think you are one of the ones who is surprised and shocked that I dont vote....

anyway i hope you choke on the numbers in despair for the fcat that they dont dislike american nearly as much as you often come acrross as doing.... Here it is, these people have some positive feelings about the USA and you simply must downplay that and make things negative.., Why?

"And almost half -- 49 percent -- of those questioned believe the invasion of their country by U.S. and British troops was right, compared with 39 percent who said it was wrong.

The poll -- the first nationwide poll in Iraq since the war -- was commissioned by ABC of the U.S., Britain's BBC, Germany's ARD and Japan's NHK.

Some 57 percent of respondents said life was better now than under Saddam, against 19 percent who said it was worse and 23 percent who said it was about the same.

Iraqi people appeared optimistic about the future, with 71 percent saying they expected things to be better in a years time, six percent predicting it will be worse and nine percent the same"

The problem with liberating forces is that very soon the populace find them as oppressors.

The Allies have forseen this and will give Iraq back to the Iraqis in June.

Good on them.

Well Grun, those polls are taken today while coalition forces are there to kind of keep the peace... which really doesn't exist there right now.

When the coalition is pulled out, then we'll really see what happens. Don't believe its an astounding success just yet, only time will tell.

Man... that was far too easy, Grun.

I like ya better angry and virulent rather than pouty and hurt.

:D

If you would have said, "a clear majority says life is better now in Iraq", I would have let it go.

...and FWIW, I absolutely disagree that love of my country requires supporting a war in Iraq. As a veteran with ten years military service, I do not appreciate having my patriotism questioned by an immigrant.

Immigrants are by implication less patriotic? Intresting... Maybe we dont take for granted all the comforts america offers, like yiou seem to do..

So you like me mean? lol  The kind of negative reinforcement here... :)

If you are as you say patriotic, wouldnt you be happy that we are apparently liked by large proportion of iraqis in some way? Whether or not u supprt the war?  Would yoiu be happier if 90% of them hated us?

Absolutely not.

As an immigrant, you've just had less time to enjoy and appreciate the benefits of my service. ;)

"Take for granted..."  Another phrase guaranteed to offend someone that has served, especially when delivered by someone who has not.

And lastly, love of my country does not require Iraqi love of my country as well.

croatian immigrants are less patriotic. Their trucks are not nearly as large as required to be called patriotic.
