All those in favour of restoring Night?

Lol that's hogwash, three things happen for most people when night hits...

1) they log-off for an hour
2) they go afk for an hour
3) they get in a buff or gv and be bored for an hour

The night AH has/had wasn't night fighting, it was night ANTI-fighting....Those that say they liked night either jacked up their gamma anyways, so it wasn't really night at all to them but was to everyone else who didn't fug with their system settings thus giving them an advantage or are people who used night to AVOID FIGHTING altogether!.

Without counting too acurately I'd guess the Nays have it. About a 60/40 split - no two thirds majority mind you but sufficient.

Your post insinuates that you adjust your GAMMA when night falls. If that is the case ... then you really don't experience "night", you just gamma-cheat so you can get the upper hand on those that dont gamma-cheat.

You're correct that this poll does not accurately represent the views of the population of Aces High players. However, the number of those responding has little bearing (a 4% sample is actually pretty darn good when you consider that scientific opinion polls can accurately gauge public opinion with less than 1/10th of a percentage of the American population polled).

The main problem a forum-based poll like this one suffers from is non-randomness (randomness being a key component of unbiased poll results). Those who participate choose to do so of their own accord (i.e. self-selection rather than random selection), and the chances are very good that forum participants differ significantly from regular players anyway. So even if you manage to obtain a fully random sample of forum views, those views may not generalize to all Aces High players.

And, furthermore, the suggestion is perfectly logical given that "night" only disadvantages those that choose to be disadvantaged, due to the gamma exploit. For everyone else, it's just annoying.

It makes no difference to me personally. But if folks want to fly night bombing missions, for example, I don't see why there shouldn't be a night period. It is clear that many people here - even if they are not in a majority - want night, and I think it's wrong for their wishes to be dismissed out of hand. Why would people whine about night, apart from the fact that it makes things more difficult to shoot down? Of course it does - that's why those B17 raids to Germany in the late '40s were done at night. :rolleyes: Don't say that bombing raids etc. do not belong in the MA. HTC has put heavy bombers into the MA where one assumes they are intended to be used. And not just for 300' suicide divebomb missions.

The other reason to vote YES is to piss Steve off! :lol

i remember knights doing this alot...the 68ths and maws made good bomber missions... although most of the people couldnt keep formation with them so youd have a spread out line....

Bish on the other hand...well theres probably about 2 missions a week, they are normaly something like 50x p51ds to suicide some fuel somewhere :(

saying that, some squad about a month ago, made some b17 mission and there was about 30 of us, plus 15 or so p51 escorts...took out 3 bases hangers then they took them to the deck over the 4th to vulch upping planes...:rofl

As the majority of people have stated, night is stupid to have when A) People just turn up their gamma which is stupid. If your gonna have night they need to disallow this, which I don't see being easy. B) Add some night fighters. C) Add search lights. d) You cant plan missions during night.

Yeah Muck et-al used to run buff missions all the time, they were a blast, but not too many, if any, at night. And night didn't hide buffs or fighters anyway since we hace icons.

The broblem was that that was the one hour I had to play. Sory if I don't want to play it in the dark or mess with my screen settings. Night is kind of pointless while dar and icons are up. All it does is mess with your aim. If you want night back, lose the icons also until D500 and the black dod thats visible from 10K or more out.

Complete AH days went from 0530 to 1830, so were 13 hours long. Therefore two complete 'days' took 26 hours, meaning 'night' would occur 2 hours later each day..... never at the same time. :)

In fact now, if anything, dusk/dawn will be at the same time each day, as the AH 'days' have been reduced to 12 hours - 0600-1800...... except for resets of course.

Look, I don't login at the same time every time. But I had times that I got night time 3 times in a row. It sucked. I don;t mine it if it was real. No icons, 10K dots, and no messing with screen settings. All night gives as now is something to argue about. It does not provide cover for bombers, gvs, or anything else. It just mekes it harder to aim if you don't adjust your settings.

As games go, I believe in "proportional representation". For example, if 20% of people approve of the pizza map, it should be up at least 20% of the time. Your philosophy is different. Hehe - see, I'm not afraid of a fight. :):D Anyway, my involvement in the night debate has been by proxy. I have no interest in night personally, but I do feel that as there are a good number of people who want night, their interests should be represented.
