Title: F4u -poly count?
Post by: MC_Honky on March 18, 2004, 12:07:53 PM
Does any know roughly the poly count for AHI f4u-1 and f4u-d.  I'm asking because I'm wondering if we are going to get a new model or just higher res skins?

(I would expect the F4u-4 to not to get a new 3d model  because it came last).

most of the planes here generally aren't a new 3d model, just little tweaks made in areas like the cockpit and little details like exhaust pipes and stuff.

The Poly-count for the La-5 must be very low.  Prob. the lowest left in the plane set.

I hope this will be like this for F4U-1D:

I thought the 3D models were designed with high initial poly counts and trimmed from there?

I would certainly like to see updated 3D models of the Corsairs and all models for that matter.

Several models are planned to be redone for skinning purposes (109G6 - black tupip part of 3D model for example).  I can only assume the rest will follow in good time.

Wait til the dust settles :)
