Nuff said. Save it for the track, boys.
-
Yep keep it between the white lines.
-
Thats horrible. Wonder if he was wearing seatbelts.
-
This is why you shouldn't modify your car to go 155 mph.

LOL!:rofl
More like 90...look at the speedometer ;)
-
Um.... I dont think it woulda mattered if he had a seatbelt on or not........
ouch
-
Holy nutjob Batman... did he/they live by some miracle?
-
I don't see any blood....
or parts.... unless he's stuck in a tree and they havent noticed yet...
-
Look at the dent in the steering wheel. I'm pretty sure that was made by a head. He was probably ejected after that.
-
Look on the dashboard on the close-up of the steering wheel
whats that stuff in the top right, probably nothin...dunno
*erm, just noticed the tarps or whatever in 3rd to last picture
-
90 kph looks like the point at which the spedometer stopped working. That doesn't mean the car was doing 90 kph at the start of the incident.
-
There's a couple of bodybags in some of the pics.
MiniD
-
Think those are for the bigger parts...

Yep, could have been going much slower and the speedo spiked to that speed from the impact.

Reading the list of posts on the thread...
"That'll buff right out."

Couldn't have been that bad...the airbags didn't even deploy! LOL
-
If the car hit side first, the front bags will not deploy.
-
Ouch, sucks for the families but that Darwin at work for you.
If you going to drive fast and push it, on public roads this could be you.
-
Thats horrible. He musta been going over 100mph or something. Crazy stuff. I doubt he lived at all.
-
Damned netlag, tree was hardly damaged at all.
-
this one is harsh, look at the door
hit the tree laterally with enough force to rip the car in two!
-
I like my cars to have frames under em.
lazs
-
I doubt any car could have survived that impact.
-
i saw something exaclty like this happen to a honda.....or something of that nature (4 door compact car). split it right in half just like this car.
-
Only one word can describe that...
SHHHIIIIAAAT!
Thats one reason I'm not driving, I don't wanna go out that way.

seeing a trend here.... maybe the trees WERE modeled right in AH when they would kill you LOL.

Lazs might wanna note that is a ladder frame vehicle...
Body on frame construction does nothing for occupant safety. If you want to survive accidents like that, you need a full competition cage.

Hehe, those trees pwned those rice rockets.
I know someone that was going too fast into a Red Light. He forgot to brake until the last moment. His car turned sideways and hit the car infront of him with enough force that his care split in two and shot across the intersection. Somehow, he was alright.
-
Tain't nothing rice about those two cars, Laser. :D
-
Jeep Cherokees are rice?
-
Compared with light plane crashes, these car crashes are mild.

you might be suprised at how little impact it takes to do that to the wheel. I had a simular bend (about 75% as bad as that) to the wheel of a 72 nova I was driving in a HO ( I was doing maybe 10mph, on-coming was doing 35 and excelerating). the damage was done by my hand that was holding the wheel at the time. It bent enough that my hand punched a 3" deep chunk out of the dash without even letting go of the wheel clutched in my fist.
I saw a car that came apart in a wreck like that on my way home from work a few years ago. it was in the oncoming lane of the freeway and aparently hit a lightpole. the door was wrapped around the pole (much like the tree pic) about 15' up the pole.
when we came upon the wreck we first noticed that there was no oncoming traffic (freeway closed) then about 1/4 mile before the point of impact we see the engine and what apeared to be the floor of the drivers side front. a coupple hundred yards later we see wheels with parts of axels attached, seats and other heavier parts, with the pieces all nicely sorted ( heaviest to lightest) as you make your way to the impact scene. at the scene there where 3 break-away light-poles down. luckly there was only one tarped body and no other vehicles involved so it apeared he only took out himself. very sobering.

ya,,if they were doing 90kph there is no way they would survive,,ouchies,,,i seen on discovery channel they were doing test too see what a 50mph head on would do to the human body,,hitting a car at 50mph head on is about the same as jumping off a 5 storie building on the body,,,eeeeek,,lol
-
That's why no sanctioning body will race fully-stock cars anymore, other than the parking-lot cone rallyes where the cars hardly get out of 2nd gear.
