Title: Frame rate stutters firing guns
Post by: Elysian on March 20, 2004, 02:58:52 AM
70% of the time when I fire a get 1-3 quick screen stutters completely blowing my shot usually.

Sometimes I can fire a quick burst before I try for a killshot to "pre-empt" the stutter.  It comes back fairly fast though, like the texture clears from memory and has to be reloaded for the next shot.

Any ideas?

geforce 440 mx here with pretty recent drivers, dx 9.0, Windows ME, athlon 800.

Try turning your hardware sound acceleration down to 3/4 from Full, and you probably should be using the 30.82 NVidia drivers as the later (particularly the 5x.xx series) have been optimized for the FX cards and introduce some oddities in the older cards.

I reverted to the 30.82 drivers which seems to have fixed the issue.  Thanks Skuzzy!
