Sort of a last-minute wish list for HTC to read about, and pick off some good ideas and suggestions they may consider.
Trying to keep the wishes something small and probable, something like small bits of eye-candy, or relatively easy-to-implement features, instead of wishing for something that would have to change entirely how the game works..
(ie. "damage model for internal parts of the plane" <- ouch.. too big a wish!)
..
Here's my wish:
1) better hit sprites: if they should remain as it is, I wish they'd at least use more high-res textures now. If they are susceptible to change, I wish spark/flash for MG rounds connected, and small explosions using particle effects for cannon rounds.. :)
2) better flame textures: gosh, even EAW has better looking flames! The rectangular 'inferno' we have is still way too much low-res and goofy looking!
3) flames erupting at different parts.. engine, fuselage, wingroots - according to where the fuel tank is located per plane, and maybe different sizes, too!
4) better bomb crater/bomb blast textures: the bomb blast is depicted by a series of textures in animation.. not bad looking.. but it's a bit low-res concerning AH2 standards now.
5) white tracers - some time since I've brought this up again, but HTC, the white tracers in the early betas were looking really cool. I turned yellow along the way, and with my incessant complaining( ;) ), you were kind enough to pale its colors a bit.. I thank you for that.. but still, I wish we could see it as it was in the early beta.. believe it or not, the white tracer round flying through the air, looked more like burning a bullet, than the yellow tracer we have, which looks sort of like a cartoon!!
6) particle effects of dust cloud when taking-off - I know it's greatly exaggerated in Forgotten Battles/AEP, but it looks really cool! Maybe a smaller, more compact version of dust thrown up, that you can turn on/off in video settings??
7) fuel trail indicating fuel leak, stopping after the fuel runs out. Currently, even when the tank is all drained, it still leaves a fuel trail..
8) fire extinguisher system - for planes that had them. Especially on buffs..
..
That's my wish list of eye-candies for now.. :)

Wouldn't a 'small' list be like 1 or 2? How many bags do you pack for a weekend trip? :eek:

6 Crazy Wishlist for AH2:
Number One: Added Driver on M-3. Mostly that I really hate that there's no Driver on M-3 Truck and it look like a ghost drivin' it. So, I was hoping that there will be a driver on the Truck and not just a pilot, but a US Army Soldier would drive the M-3.
Number Two: Hand gun. US Navy carry Smith and Wesson cal. 38 revolver and USMC and USAAF carry Colt M1 1911 Cal. 45 pistol with canvas holster holding two magazines. Also, the German and Russia pilots carry a Luger hand gun and I thought this would be good idea for pilots in AH.
Number Three: Free Roaming. Well, I know it really weird that I thought this would be excellent idea and you could walk around the base like hangin' around the Bar (Free beer! :D) and you able go around the building in the base. I thought added a Willie Jeep to drive around the base and or just drive it to hangar where your plane would be ready.
Number Four: Open Canopy. Now, I see some pilots Open Canopy when they take off/Landing and like the F4U Corsair, Pilots open canopy before they takeoff. I like this idea.
Number Five: Bulletproof Windshield. I know some planes that have Bulletproof windshield in WWII which it help not to wounded/killed the pilots and most of plane don't have Bulletproof windshield. The F4U-4 had bulletproof windshield before the war was ended and probably P-51D got BW also.
Number Six: One-Man Raft (With Pilot)/Life Jacket. Now, this probably the funny idea and also it save pilots life from Drowning or eaten by SHARK!! So, I thought the pilots need two things Life Raft and Life Jacket. I heard that when you use life raft like paddle, the avg speed is 2 mph and life jacket should be enable for every pilots.

Most WWII fighters had bullet proof windscreens. They started being added to Spitfires and Hurricanes in the lull between the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain.
Speaking of bullet proof windscreens and pilots wounds, I am looking forward to using the hit location marker to determine how Panzer IV Hs manage to wound my Mosquito pilot nearly every time, and frequently with the first ping. Mosquitoes did have bullet proof windscreens.

1) Damaged engine sound effects - I'd like to hear some clanging /grinding noises with uneven/rough running as I try to nurse my damaged Pratt & Whitney back to base.
2) Eliminate chute explosions.

When you think that the two gun packs in the nose plus the thick windscreen you'd have thought it would have protected the pilot! (BTW, bomber version didn't have bullet proof screen, but seeing we don't have that yet.... ;))

Remember its the tracer material thats burning, not the bullet, that you can see.
In order for the tracer to be white the tracer material would have to be, for example, magnesium.
Everything else i agree with though.

Tracers of many different colours were used as well; it would be nice if they weren't all the same.

I want minor performance damage until a component fails completely. IE hose a guys wing and he gets a little drag/loss of lift, to him his wing feels heavy, hose him again and the wing pops off.

Remember, bullet proof things are only rated for the first bullet. :D

Yak 9D long range or 9M standard
Just remove the 37mm cannon from Yak-9T (ground attack version) and replace it with ShVAKs, then you'll have a Soviet fighter that fills the mid-war gap.

Yes definately!
As for the chutesI'd like to see em collaps and watch th helpless pilot just plummet to the earth.
Also
different class carriers would be nice
And something else but I cant remember what it is now

I know this wish will recieve alot of flak, but I'd like to see some new gv models or skins.

I believe that Pyro said that bullet strikes would all appear where they hit.

Ahh I just remembered one thing
I'd like to be able to specifically numericallychoose my loadout when in a tank
Also I'd like the see destroyed tanks stay on the battlefield burning for a while before they dissapear instead of em going poof

Also I'd like to see the plume of smoke from destroyed objects at bases and towns become taller and thinner. When an aircraft approaches a base, the smoke should be visible before the base detail comes into view. AH has it the other way around - the smoke plume is short and fat and is visible only after the base detail is visible.
And I'd like to see aircraft shed debris when hit, with puffs of smoke and minor explpsions. Warbirds III does this very nicely in the view films of seen of it.

How about a rough transition as a visual/sound cue that you are passing through a wind layer...(chuk-ku-CHUNK), at least on ascent.

* Remove the GONDOLAS option for Bf-109F.
* Remodel and redesignate Bf-109G-10 to Bf-109K-4. Give it a perk point close to F4U-1C.
*"Smoking guns"
* 2 versions of AH2. One is optional AH1 graphics engine for AH2 (i know that this would not happen) :)

Wouldnt it be great if when you bail out instead of your plane dissapearing you could watch it hurtle to the ground!
Wouldnt it be awsome if you had to pop the canopy, roll over and fall out like they had to back in the day!
Wouldnt it be even more amazing if you could hop out of your plane and actually use that handgun, then hop back in and fly off!
I guess these things will just be a matter of time.
o and most of all we need to be able to throw empty beer bottles out the window!:lol

I'm sure the bailing out - watching your plane fall to the ground option is a realistic expectation for improvement, so if the stop fuel leak when fuel is zero. That's an even simpler improvement. :)
I can think of a bunch - like running into a crater will knock out your landing gear, or drivable destroyers. :)

1:No Icons(have it so enemy icons CAN be disabled for certain scenarios and ALL icons for certain events/tournies)
2:Added "Check Six" type calls like.."Bogie on my tail..Help!"..."Hold On,I'm on my way!"..."You're six is clear."
3:Officer's Mess Hall...I club like room where all the friendly pilots can chat while they wait for the mission to start (or lounge around after they get shot down.)PLay some swing tunes in the background with bar noises(bottles,fights..etc)
5:Kill Markings:Wouldn't it be great to have kills displayed on your plane? [...] .Maybe scale it down to something like 10 kills=1 marking...
More CM icon control would be good.
Lakes above sea level would be a great new addition, though I suspect it would take a huge rewrite so I don't expect to see it any time soon
Bomber Contrails
-Customisable fuel tank switching timing and order, and if not completely unfeasible, the option to fill certain tanks only, and/or by as small increments as possible.
-The replacement/addition of stall shudder by the plane when nearing stall, instead of the horn.
-The possibility to map two axii to one function, for example if you want the js twist for small rudder movements, and the pedals for large ones.
-Icons something like in WWIIOL, it sounds pretty neat. And the said CM option to turn off icons altogether. And adding planetype+name in the iconmode cycle.
-More ordnance types for the planes that had much more of them than we have, like Pzblitz or SMuzic for the LW, NS-37 for the Il2, etc.
-A larger sun flare corona, the one there is is good, but it'd be better if it had another wider outer glare.
--Map icon+text color added to color setup.
-Tracer shell and and quantity/placement in the chosen ammo belts.
-That promised post-flight .txt statistic summary.
-Perked extra goon loads, they could carry 20 troops, I heard.
-The possibility to brake off parts rather than insta-towering at low speed, you can drag the wingtips and bounce the tail almost as hard as you want <200mph, but >= 200 you suddenly die.
-Hopefully, more gradual damage will affect the FM gradually as well, so that you don't fly perfectly if your strainer-plane is about to fall apart.
-More telemetry in the film viewer, like AoA, etc.
-Cargo added to the damage list.
-Released cargo damageable by every weapon, not just bullets.
-LVT(2)s don't rotate entirely when only the pilot's pov (gunning most likely) rotates.
-Turbulence.
-better tracers for the tank rounds, easy thing to do..
-Cockpit gun shaking adjusted to be proportional to the guns' caliber.
-AAA guns made to obey law of physics, so they don't instantly rotate to target.
-Add more sound slots to the explosions module, but make it default to a single sound file, so unless we add third party sounds, it stays as it is. So we can, if we want, differentiate all explosions, like rocket impacts and CV 5' explosions, just like we're allowed to do with different model engines etc.
-Different sounds across the engine power positions and damage conditions. (one left)
-Tank turret rotation control from driver's seat, by the rudder?
-Control of the remaining flap when the other's been shot off.
-The old turret coaxial, haven't heard of anyone getting it to work anymore.
-Smoke for the Tiger and PT boat?
make GVs collideable against each other, like for buildings now or on each player's FE as it'd suffice; no more walk-thru hull MG PKs.
-(An) intermediate color(s) for partially damaged items on the damage list.
-A way to plot waypoints on the cb map outside of missions, for personal notes, own navigation or predicting vectors based on dar dots movement, for example.
-Separate wounds for pilots and gunners.
personal one, but honestly worth it, keep wing tanks on the 152 for 75 and 100% filling, like for the 51D's Aux.
-External sounds for the GV guns, separate if possible. (haven't seen anyone confirm this yet)
-Rocket convergence.
-A way to set separate salvo values
-A button to salvo everything at once.
-Quicker damage to the pilot while one fire, instead of nothing until sudden death.. but they've probably thought this out and've made their choice as it is.
-An option to leave the loadouts on the mission flights unlocked, so you don't have to make multiples of the same flights just to vary the loadouts.
-Broken GV tracks just stop working rather than dip the vehicle a million degrees.. as it is (I) nearly always get 'crash'es when landing damaged on own soil with no enemies in range.
-Fluid trails proportional to their respective leak.
-Rockets display 1:1 on the wings.
At the moment, when you bail and are on the ground, you can move around.
How about taking this functionality and using it to add a troop as an option from the hangar. Just like with a b17, instead of leaving the base with only one troop, you could leave with a squad of 10 or so, who would try to stick close to you , thier "leader" just as with the buff groups. [...]
Full support for eDimensional products:
a) Track IR - Enhanced mode support;
b) 3D Glasses - (1) Operating mouse cursor control for the clipboard, and (2) gunsights at the proper depth instead of hovering in the foreground somewhere in the cockpit.
A "Heads up!" button which warns all the planes in visual range OR the planes in visual range which are on the same mission. Or maybe only in the direction U'r looking at?

Rearm pads on VBases.
I just want the magnetic compass to rotate in the right direction....It's always been backwards.
I would like the Fuel gauge to work on GV's This way they would run low also and if you prok a gv base and it ups it would kill there fuel level to go camping and such,
And the rearm pad is better than going to hanger or upping a m3 drop supplies then back to tank.. that is a good isea also
But then they wold have to install rearm pads on all bases's and all maps that i would think would take months to do.. Dont know if there is an easy way to do it

I would like exact coordinates for the cruisers, shore batteries, etc... If there was a gv war going on and needed artillary then someone gets in gun, hits W then gv give their location, and how far they think enemy is (or drive a little and get into trig and all that but would be quicker to guess). Then when the ship gunner is clicking for a place on map a little highlighted number shows up next to where his curser is (Ex: 456N,728E).
I love the kill marking idea. Base it on streak and make it 1=1.

Here's an Idea I've been kicking around. Whenever you see someone vulching a field and racking up 7, 8, 9 kills, set it up to where if you shoot him down you get a little ace perk point bonus. Nothing huge, just maybe half the perkies that he's built up. Oh yeah get rid of that dammed "don't move controls so rapidly" msg.
How about multi monitor support? I'd love to get that clipboard out from in from of my face and onto my second monitor. The Chat buffer would be great also as then you could have it large all the time.
and finally, Beta3 tracers,
and permanent beta3 tracers for the 37, 75 and 88mm tank calibers, please.

The default setup doesn't have them mapped to anything, so if you want to use them, you have to go into your keyboard setup and map them to a key. Most people don't do this, though, and just complain that the coaxial machine gun doesn't work.

But it DOES work, its mapped to the fire all key....atleast on the joystick.

The only fighter Mossies that would be better for air-to-air combat than the Mk VI we have now would be a Mk VI with ejector exhausts, an NF.Mk XIX or an NF.Mk.30
The F.Mk II or NF.Mk II would be less capable owing to their having substantially less power.
I'm all for having the Mossie VI remodeled with ejector exhausts instead of the damned exhaust shrouds.
I could really use that extra 10-15mph. Especially since the Mossie seems to have lost a couple of mph down low.

Shiva I've only tried mapping it to every other single-fire AH button, so this complaint isn't just spinal reflex.
What's the use of a coaxial ranger if it only fires with everything slaved to it?
