I thought it might be interesting to survey the hardware that folks run on and see how AH runs on various systems. I am curious as to how the game runs on ALL systems.
PS This is not intended to brag about your system, just objectively what you run:
CPU Type/Speed
Memory amount/type
Video Card
Frame rate (vsync on only pls) and resolution.
For example, this is what I run:
Pentium 4 HT 2.4Ghz
512 MB PC3200
Radeon 9600 Pro 128
74 FPS at 1600x1200
Hopefully folks can decide what the minimum machine is that runs the game well and when it's time to upgrade to get a better FR.
Thanks,
Havoc

AlLWAYS 60 fps (display refresh rate) @ native res - 1280 x 720 w AAx4 AFx0. Never locks up, CTD or has vox problems.

At 1280 x 1024 with AA & AF off (application preference)100 fps (monitor refresh rate) 100% of the time. I haven't tried any higher refresh rate but when I tested it with v-sync off it ran in the 200+ range most of the time(only flew around breifly, no furballs, smoke or anything difficult to render)
My prefered set up is 1280 x 1024, AA x4, AF off, all sliders max quality, refresh rate 85Hz (better quality image than higher rates on Samsung 21" CRT). Runs at 85 FPS 100% of the time. With the card declocked to XT spec, the frame rate will breifly dip into the 70s in furballs with a lot of smoke and buildings present (as in base defense)

Yeah come to think of it, probably a good idea to mention OS. It seems that folks that I have talked to often get a better frame rate out of an old GeForce 4 than with some of the newer low-end GeForce FX cards.

Ok i'll toss in OS's
Ive ran bolth win 98se and XP on my machines .
98se is the better gaming/all around platform in my opinion , it always loads faster and it easier to modify .
Even using it without a firewall it is fairly simple to get its security levels up to a safe standard.
i do have a 9600 pro card which i tested but it didnt perform as nice as my old ti4600

Roscoroo, I have a buddy who is in desperate need of a decent card. Would you be willing to sell the 9600 Pro?
Drop me a line,

LOL I remember a magazine review of the Sinclair from my youth. The title was, "Showdown at the 2k corral." Coincidentally, a buddy at work still has one of these.
