Title: Setup for March 26: England/France March 1943
Post by: Mister Fork on March 24, 2004, 02:31:11 PM
England/France, March 1943.
While America deals with the east threat of Japan, her bomber squadrons are making a dent in France and Germany. Hitler has cancelled any attempts to land in England, and with the help of Rommel he's shoring up the coast line defences. Nighttime bombing raid are now common place. British fighter squadrons are adjusting to the new Luftwaffe Fw 190.

Setup note: All aircraft squadrons are assigned to individual fields. Fighter squads are front line fields, bomber squadrons will be mid fields, and rear fields contain a mix of fighter and bomber squadrons. (I.e. Spit IX would be at A12, 13, 18, 22, Tiffies at A14, 17, 20, 21, Spit V at 1,2,3,4,5 etc. Same for Axis)

OK, not to be a nit-picker, but should the F8 be in there and not the A8? Otherwise looks good to me.

Ok, stupid question that I'm sure most already know. What does 'exchange squadron' mean in regards to the 205?

Nice setup by the way, looks like it will be fun.

Keep the A-20, and add the Mossie!

How about B-26 to rear fields only?

 ..

The Mossie is a fast bird in a '43 setup, should be a good interesting jabo. B-26s are fine, but it just kills me to see people deckrolling in it..

Note: Due to the fact I'm using the France map, all aircraft are available from all fields.  Sorry for any confusion this may cause.

As well, I've upped the # to capture a base to 15.

Sorry, Fork. I take some blame here. I wasn't sure which map was going to be used so I assumed it was the France one and you adjusted your setup to match my page. If you feel you need to use a different map, I'll gladly adjust the page map to match it.

This is why I'd like to touch base with the staffer who's setup is next in line by at least Tuesday before, so I'll know I'm on the same page. I've kinda shot myself in the foot for the upcoming one, though. Didn't DL the Kurland map while it was in the SEA.

One thing to note on the france terrain: the rearm pads on the grass fields don't work and will crash your airplane. It's a known bug and I'll fix it when I update the terrain to AH2.

There goes my "capture a field and refuel the transport from it" idea. :(

Typhoon is too fast for the Axis planeset.

Lose the Tiffy, add the Mossie.

Eagler,
:p
