Title: So who has the worst system...and still plays?

Saw a similar topic on another board - some of the systems were jaw dropping!! So who has the crappiest computer in AH and still manages to play - no prizes will be awarded apart from the awe and respect of your peers...

Until pretty recently  had that beat. and occasionally still do when my kid is hogging this machine.

but oddly enough I was getting better  FPS. Around 20-22 steady even during most furballs.
For some reason the FPS would only occasionally drop to around 10 in furballs

My old computer, which still has AH on it and will still run it (altough I don't use it for AH anymore).

500mhz Intel Celeron
160mb ram
ATI Radeon 7000

It gets in the mid 20's for Frame rate, but drops to low teens and occassionaly single digits when in a furball, smoke, weather etc.

I played AH for years on a PII 233 and an Nvidia Ultra II.  Worked fine with the exception of fighting around base smoke my FR would drop to around 3 FPS.  Other than that I ran around 19 FPS which was good enough to fight pretty well.  When I finally upgraded it seemed much easier to gun though...hehehe.  I ran the PII 233 until just about 1 year ago when I upgraded to a PIII 333 and a Geforce 2 MX.  I would bet it still would run near the same now in AH 1.

I'm finally running a Gforce FX 5900 and an AMD  2000+ and frame rates are no longer an issue

Until 6 months ago... I had a 650Mhz AMD processor with 256MB RAM. The video card was a 32MB Voodoo 3000 (LOL). Best frame rate I had in a clear sky was 27fps. Jabo runs and furballs, @10FPS. I focused on goon runs and close air support with A-26.

Now I have AMD 2800+ running at 1.8Ghz, 1GB RAM and ATI Radeon 9800 XT with 256MB ram. Clear sky FPS is around 60-65 (I haven't tweaked it yet with regard to overclocking) and furball FPS is around 35.

AH is a totally different game now (grin).

When I first began AHII, I had:

400mhz Celeron
128mb sdram
RIVA TNT2 graphics accelerator

It ran pretty damn good back in the day :)  1998-2001... RIP

August 2001 I wrote
