Title: A new game with some familiar faces
Post by: AK30Sopp on December 25, 1999, 01:58:00 PM
I used to fly WB as thun, thdx and -thdx-.  Its been about 2 years since I've flown there... ever since 2.0 went open beta (I did get to participate in the closed beta).

I recognize a few of the id's floating around here.  I am wondering if more and more are going to show up.

This game is pretty decent and will go pay-2-play at a reasonable price.  I'm wondering if there are rumors as to just how many defectors are going to migrate from AW3 and Warbirds.

I'm "Ghosth" in Aces High, Warbirds (Mostly the Historical Arena) & I know plenty others(includeing Brand W trainers) who fly both sims under their "Real" names.

No doubt you'll find me in WWII Online when it comes out as well.

I flew WB a few years ago. Belonged to the 1st ACG as D.E.D. One, later changed to Mr.ED, moved to AW3 as Mr.ED, and am here as Mr.ED. Fly a Pony in al of the above too!
The sim may change, but the name remains the same.

I flew WBs as Coker and was a member of the VMF-214th. I recently cancelled IEN account so I left the great guys and lady from the 214th. I'm waiting for some F4u enthusiast and some CV action :-)

Merry Christmas,

I'm with Datter. I use the same handle everywhere.
And I've never flown WB online and don't want to.

Hey Dej ;-)
I flew WB from it's inception(CK) until WB2.0. Machine(486DX4/100) couldn't handle it at the time. I flew as wlfe, redw and rdwe and swulfe for a few times in 2.0. Never did AW.

I first started flightsim's when Falcon3 came out.  I was big into it for a while.  I even a hacked a patch to add some new theater campaigns to the sim.  I added "Chad" (Lybia)and "Bosnia" (I released My Bosnia about 8 months before Spectrum released theirs, but they CLAIM theirs was better LoL!)  Made some other F3 utils too.  Ah the golden age of hex editing.  You youngen's will never know what you missed.  Weeks of pouring over dat file hex dumps deciphering their contents.

91-93 I was a AirWarrior weenie.  Flew under the handle Desperado.  (my connects sucked so I played mostly in that half-time arena...stop laughing!)  Man, I was paying like $6.00 an hour or something crazy with Genie charges and all.  LoL!  What was I thinking!

Then work/school/reality got in the way came back to online sims with Flying Circus in 97.

And now I'm here. LoL!

rob53 here, aw3, and hate to admit it, tried FA ONCE,with same name  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)   Still play aw3, its hard to give up ANY game especially when the squadron I belong to there has a great group of guys.  Hek, we even got together this past fall in Toronto...what a town to party in ;0     btw, Pyro, I saw a cpid in aw3 the other day with ur handle...(pyro).

I see this sim as developing a strong community already, which is IMO another reason to justify the cost.....community is one characteristic of a GREAT game.  If no one talks, whines, cries, complains, flames, flames back, then the boredom and monotony would set in.  My kids come running into the room when they hear me bust out LMAO and want to know what happened??  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)  And half the time it's when I'm reading thru these posts.

I have seen quite a few names here I'm familiar with in aw3, so, yes, there are aw people all over this sim, and many more to come I predict.  I brought the topic up the other night in aw3 and got ? after ? about how I like it and what's it's like....the only answer I could give them was.....  hitechcreations.com try it, u'll like it  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

So, HtC and crew...keep up the great work and I hope to justify (beg) to the wife that the cost is minor compared to what I get in return!!! FUN, COMMUNITY, and it keeps me from begging for sex as often as before ;-)

Still jedi as usual, AW 1.whatever to 3.whatever, CK, WB, DOA, FC, now AH.  Haven't played AW in about a year (but DO have the latest version)  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Still soldiering on in WB, and keeping tabs on AH every week or so. (Icons are still too big BTW).

Used to be 511 in that other galaxy, and even flew with 6072 a few times, as I recall.  Before the end of civilization as we knew it (Win95)  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I started as Mighty1 in FO and tried to use it when I began WB but was told it was already used so I went with Dewey. I started AH as Dewey then had problems logging in so I went with Wimp and finally back with Mighty1.

Someone brought up how long they'd been playing the game... it got me curious.  Unfortunately, the old messages were dropped off of the database upgrades.  I knew it was a holiday I started posting here... thought it was Holloween for some reason.  I'm a little embarassed at the mixup.

LOL, slight difference between Halloween and Christmas Day!  :D

I was Flos in AW, but had the Handle of Florence.  Flos was the nearest I could get with the 5-character restriction, Floss was already taken and I didn't want Flo.  I have since turned it into Flossy, and play as Flossy in WW2OL and, more recently, as a Beta tester in an online community called There.  :)

I was on FC as "Von Stalhein" and "Biggles". I remember the Duckwings..

I had the most fun in the earlier version of FC, where field 4 was the center of activity most of the time.
