Likely Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry claimed Tuesday night that he's a big fan of rap and hip-hop music.
The straight-laced Beacon Hill blue-blood who married into the $700 million Heinz ketchup fortune told MTV, "I'm fascinated by rap and by hip-hop. I think that there's a lot of poetry in it. There's a lot of anger - a lot of social energy in it."
Kerry said America's leaders disregard rap music at their peril, telling MTV, "I think you better listen to it pretty carefully because it's important
Asked about some of the more outrageous lyrics in today's rap songs, Kerry replied, "Do I think some lyrics in some songs have stepped over what I consider to be a reasonable line? Yeah, I do."
He then explained, "I think when you start, you know, talking about killing cops or something like that, it bothers me."
Still, Kerry defended the gangsta rap genre, telling MTV, "I'm still listening because I know that it's a reflection of the street and it's a reflection of life. And I understand all that."
Editor's note:
Does anyone take this guy seriously? LOL!

I think he said there are WMD in the music too.

LOL do you think he is going for the young angry male black vote?
-
This salamander will do or say anything he thinks will help him get elected...he has no soul or moral guidence.
Kerry will lose in a landslide...... I will state this now Kerry will lose in a LANDSLIDE. Americans are not as stupid as he assumes.
I will refer to this post to gloat after the election takes place. If I am wrong, I will move to France with Alec Baldwin.

Posssibly, rememmber he is in touch with real people, especially black people. I hear his maid is black, so he knows the struggles of thug life on da streetz. I think he picked it up in his fancy european boarding schools as a teenager... Juan Qweyree represent'!!! I wonder who his favorite rapper is?

I dont have anything against rap music, nor do I have anything against Kerry (unlike the political zealots around here) but I dont believe a single word of what he said, if he did say that.
But what can you expect. He's a politician.
-
Well African Americans tend to vote for Democrates.

But Kerry takes the lies farther and deeper than we have come to expect from normal polticans - he lies about who he is, he is disingenous about his very identity. Thats why he flip-flops so much.
-
I'm willing to wager he'll exchange wedding vows with a Jewish/Black/Persian-American man before November.
Any takers?

don't forget he was FOR rap music when it was just the "suger hill gang" and the like and against it when NWA came out.....although he does like the occasional 2PAC when the time is suitable....but he was AGAINST 2PAC befor he was for it.

The fact that you are so far to the right that you cant even see the center makes any criticism you make against any politician that is not republican invalid for a discussion.
Not like we are having a discussion here anyways, but... :)

Hey now... Grun may be too young to be a conservative, but I'm probably too old to be a liberal so it all balances out. :)

Edit:
Oops.. needed to read the whole thread.. .nothing to see here, carry on.

Way WAYYY... ;)

Its funny though, I'm far more moderate on the balance of issues that I seem to come across here or at least how people visualize me. I think it's because I like to make some extreme arguments and they appear to be memorable in your perception of me..

Ahh a promise to be remembered!!!

I think Alec Baldwin's definition of France is Los Angeles, cuz last I heard he's still living there. So does NUKE have to move to LA or can he just stay in the same place to fulfil his request.
Personally I'm surprised that Baldwin hasnt moved to France. If I was $$$$$ loaded like him I would love to live there at least part of the year. Id buy a nice villa on the Riviera overlooking the Mediteranian and just chill out and relax...

Think I'm in the same boat just on the other side. If I disagree with the conservatives, I'm a liberal. If I agree, I'm a "confused" liberal. :)

LA, France, same thing.
-
gee.. I hope he performs some rap on MTV. Maybe get Klinton to play sax?
won't that be special?

As far as you have led me to understand from your posts, far enough to see it as the only side capable of doing anything "good", while the left is only responsible for anything "bad". Pretty black and white.
That may be just an online persona you make for comedy sake, but I recall when I joined reading some of your posts (along with posts from people in the left) and thinking "Damn, people here are impossible!"
A curious thing about this board is how many extreme right wing people seem to post here, but that may be because of the demographic.
-
Oh... I don't know.. we seem to have our share of card carrying liberal womanly types here too.
