An email from Jim at the ME262 Project from yesterday:
Just a reminder, tomorrow night (Wednesday) the Discovery Channel will broadcast "Seven Wonders - Mega Jets" at 10pm ET. The Me 262 Project is one of the airplanes featured in this telecast....along with the Boeing 777, the Concorde and others.

Is this the group that's building fresh ME262's using templates taken from a museum bird, powered by modern jet engines that sit inside casts of the original BMW jet engines for appearance?
I recall that they had 1 of the planes up and flying, going through trials. Have they received airworthiness certificates yet?

Yes, same planes. No, they haven't received their certs yet, next flight is very soon though. Here are some pics from last fall that I took when Raub was in town:

Would they speed up production if we bombed their factory? :p

Holy sweetass batman!! How much for one of those!?!?!?!

-
Are all the ones they make going to be smurfy two seaters?
-
No, some of them are configurable as either one or two seaters, and I think 2 of them are going to be single seat only.
-
heard they were going to be a over a million a pop,,pretty cool idea to remake the 262,,have to agree the single seats look much better:) one of the best lookin first jet fighters ever made<~~if i had the money to blow i would get one,,,sence faa wont let civilan planes fly over the speed of sound anyway
