Could some of you guys with Cougars post you stick scaling data? I'm having a hell of a time coming up with something that allows me to maneuver yet have a stable gun platform.
Thanks

Hiya
The only way I could get anything that I liked was use manual calibration, then adjust the calibration data .
any other way was too sensitive to stick movement, any amount of frigging with AH scaling didn't help
There are several threads on Frugals cougar world on how to do this - search under manual calibration data - or something like that
This is my calibration.ini
[Calibration]
0=13736,40188,64770
1=8500,38548,65500 <------- pitch axis
2=49728,33792,23104
3=43136,29728,14240
4=8128,32768,57120
5=0,34304,57120
6=0,34272,57120
7=50432,39104,8416
8=0,32768,0
9=0,32768,0
the problem i had was with the pitch axis everything else was ok.
I think my original pitch axis numbers were something like this
2 = 10345,38548,63540
By subtracting from the first number and adding to the 3rd effectively you are desensitizing the pitch axis a bit.
there's a full explanation on frugals
anyway that's what worked for me - gives me a response more like the old f22 - smooth
the autocalibration was very sensitive to small stick movements - could pull a stall by moving stick a fraction.
SOB's profile has some great code for views too - it's posted on here somewhere
hope that's what you are looking for

Hey Yippee the Arsian, nice to see you here :)

You must go by another name there Connection, right?
Redd, I was talking about the AH scaling. I was hoping somebody would be able to post their stick.cfg or screenies of the stick scaling screens.

what is it that you are trying to fix though ?
Is it too sensitive in the pitch axis ?
AH scaling might not do the job.

This my stick.cfg
keep in mind it's used with the manual calibration - not automatic calibration, so if even if you use the same settings the result won't be the same

In AH i have all sliders at max setting, no damping and minimum ie just off the bottom dead zone.
In Cougars CCP i have roll (X) at -3 and pitch (Y) at -2 and using simped rudders i have that set at -4 and its still way to sensitive.
And no dead zones set for the joystick axes.
I find this gives more precise control near the centre position.
My test is to jump in an Ostwind main gun, zoom all the way in and try to put the cross hair on a distant target, see if you overcorrect or can get it on target in one movement.

What I am trying to fix is an instable gun platform where I can still get full maneuverablility withouth stalling too easily. I'm seeing that if I get to where it's a stable gun platform, the plane performs sluggishly and feels like I'm not getting full maneuverablility. When I tried to get the plane a bit more responsive, I started stalling WAY too easily.
But don't get me wrong, I want to still be able to stall the plane normally.
Since I'm having such a hard time coming up with something that works, I was hoping to start with what other are using, and tweak it from there.

Try my settings above, its the best i have found and has helped others using the cougar.

I'm not a big fan of changing the scalings in the Cougar software. I'd rather leave the Cougar settings default and tweak the AH software. Then again, I guess I can save those settings into a profile for AH. (I think)
I'll give them a try. Thanks.
