Title: Warbirds 2.77 WINGS of DEATH squadron has moved to AH

The WINGS of DEATH (WoD) squadron which has been stationed in Warbirds 2.77 (WB 2.77) Fighter Operations (FO) arena has been reassigned to patrol the skies for the Bishops in AH Main Arena as the =+=+= WoD =+=+= squadron (since there is already a Wings of Death squadron). In WB 2.77 the WINGS of DEATH squadron maintained a max number roster of very active pilots and was a very multi-faceted squadron making it one of the most powerful squadrons in WB 2.77 FO.

Due to extensive harrassment of players within the game, very low numbers in the game, and most of all IEN's (the owner of Warbirds) very poor attitude toward WB 2.77, we took a look at AH as a possible new home. We have been on temporary assignment for the last week to week and a half, and due to overwhelming support for the move by the pilots of the WoD, I, as CO of the WoD, have decided to make AH our new base of operations. :D

We still have much to learn as we get acclaimated to AH, but I would like to thank TwoDogs5, Cooley, and the 367th squadron for their continued support and training for mystelf and the members of my squadron. I would also thank all those that have been quick to answer our questions when we put them out in the open. Without all of this support, the trial of AH would not have gone nearly as smoothly (though I do have bruises from some of the remaining bumps). :lol

Why Bish?
Well we could use em :aok
Many of us ex WB 2.77 (Fighter Op's arena) were so used to flyin against each other for years,
kinda cool to be on same side for once

For your information The Wings of Death Squadron first formed in 1996 in Air Warrior has been in Aces high since 2001.

We are predominently UK based (time zone wise) but have several members in other time zones.

We are ardent scenario goers and attend the Sunday Squad Operations.

Some of us also fly bish in the MA.

As the original CO of WoD in Warbirds, I am glad to see the squad is alive and well.

I still think there are remnants of the squad on WB III (Trooper and Leviathan), but perhaps they will come over here as well and recapture the fun we all used to have.

Roscoroo- Disrupt away, m'friend. We have always loved a challenge and don't mind stepping on those in the way. ;)

Virage - We are Bish because of many old friends from WB 2.77 that fly Bish. Will be good to be flying again with these old friends. :cool:

Cooley - At least now I can look at you off my wing and not worry about where you are on my 6. :D

Tilt - I hope that you don't find any offense in us taking the name =+=+= WoD =+=+= in AH. I realize that you have had the Wings of Death name for quite some time in AH, and do not mean to intrude on that. If there is a problem, please do not hesitate to post back or email me and I will be more than happy to discuss it with you. :)

edge12674 - No offense intended, but I am the original CO of this WoD. I created it about 1 1/2 years ago in WB 2.77 when I split off from my old squad, The Bloody 100th which was originally formed in AW. I was not aware of any squad by the name of WoD before that time in WB 2.77. :p

68DevilM - Trust me...we look terrible when u look threw your sights at us...much better view when we are on your 6. :D

VWE - We will leave a BADDDDDD taste in your mouth....fresh meat not always the best to try and chew on. ;)

No offence taken.......there are several Damned squads I cant see why there should not be more than one WoD...the origins of both are honorable enough............

We did have a dialogue with a WB WoD but I think it was longer ago than the 1.5 years you refer to.........maybe it was edges WoD.

Any way as we are both bish we may often end up agin the the hordes side by side. I am sure we would be happy to help any way we can.

We are listed in Prophets book "Warbirds The Story So Far..." That was in version 1.11 and we had around 15 players steady for about 4 years. We moved to Warbirds III when it came out, but like most squads Warbirds III slowly killed us off.

I wasn't sure if you were one of our old members as some of them stated they were going back to 2.77.

Don't feel bad. I thought my squad was pretty original too, until I came to AH and found the WoD has existed since 1996 in AW!!

One constant in all three squads is the high level of good gamemanship present in its members. WoD brings class to any arena it visits!!
