So now we know from Paul O’Neal and Richard Clarke and numerous others, that this war was decided on in the first days of the Bush presidency. Forget all that rhetoric Gov. Bush used on the campaign trail.. a humble foreign policy.. whoa talk about a flip-flop.. I don’t think there’s an example in American history of a greater flip-flop.. Man that was the classic bait and switch.
We get to wake up to headlines like this Bodies of Foreigners Dragged Through Streets of Fallujah; Bomb Kills Five U.S. Troops (http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGAOVPFHHSD.html)
These kind of Mogadishu type slaughters are happening with more frequency. The same kind of things that had you conservatives OUTRAGED at President Clinton and his then defense sec. Colin Powell.
Oh.. and how bout some lovely imagery from the article..
ssociated Press Television News pictures showed one man beating a charred corpse with a metal pole. Others tied a yellow rope to a body, hooked it to a car and dragged it down the main street of town. Two blackened and mangled corpses were hung from a green iron bridge across the Euphrates.
"The people of Fallujah hanged some of the bodies on the old bridge like slaughtered sheep," resident Abdul Aziz Mohammed said. Some of the corpses were dismembered, he said.
Beneath the bodies, a man held a printed sign with a skull and crossbones and the phrase "Fallujah is the cemetery for Americans."
sheesh... freakin’ maddness..
Lets not vote for John Kerry in Nov. He’s a flip-flopper don’t you know.. and he looks French.. Wouldn’t you rather have a beer with good ole’ country Texas boy Dubya or that icky french lookin’ dude?.
Bush/Chaney04 - Because it’s not our fault.

While I am touched by your concern for American soldiers....
I am wondering... are you saying that the thing to do when you get casulties it to run away like Klinton? Let the people there fend for themselves? How do you suposse that kerry would make it all better?

Its too late to just pull out now, but at least kerry would try to get our Nato allies to help us out with the costs and a faster exit.
Which is part of his platform.
-
I am concerned by your lack of concern for American military personal. I also take umbrage at your lack of patriotism by misspelling the last name of a former president of the United States.
How do I suppose John Kerry would make it all better? Well for starters he might use his brain.. Apologize to former allies like Canada and Mexico for lying to them. He might put together a real group of industrial nations to help out in equal parts. He might get together with that guy the Ayatollah Sistini and hammer out some sort of Democracy with a sprinkle of Islamic law.
I would suppose that a president John Kerry would NOT under any circumstances continue the current policies.
-
well... I take offense at your blatant use of dead American soldiers to push your emotional liberal agenda so I guess we are even except... I am an American.
I don't know where you are from but you seem to have access to what kerry thinks... I have seen nothing from him that is like what you say he will do. fortunately.... you don't get to vote.
lazs
-
Err, people in Hawaii get to vote...
Anyway, Democracy and Islamic law are two contradictory terms. You can't have both. Nor can you have "Sprinklings" of each.
You either have Islamic Law ALA kill anyone you want because Allah says to.
or you can have democracy where everyone is equal. Every woman, man, child, person.

...But not those G** Da**** Liberals! THEY don't get to vote!

The U.S. is the only remaining super power. After the worst terrorist attack in history, its the job of the United States to smash any country that appears to be a threat or that does not cooperate in measures relating to World safety.
Sure, theres alot of insane Iraqis who want to kill Americans (fanatical Sunnis). But American soldiers are killing alot of these Iraqis, and thereby evolving Iraqi culture to pro-American.
In 50 years there may not be any dictatorships left in the World. Hopefully every country will either be a Republic or Democracy. Until then, World progress will only slowly crawl forward.

10 bears is Hawiian? Thought he was a british citizen? Why the british flag then? in any case.... I have seen nothing from kerry on how he would handle the occupation. I have no faith in him doing a better job and am satisfied with the way Bush is handling it.
I do find using the deaths of U.S. soldiers to push a liberal agenda distasteful... much as I have allways found the "do it for the children" liberal mantra distasteful.

Hehehe ... that's the Hawaiian state flag.

:o

never been to Hawaii... just figured it must be a flag from some little leftover british colony or another... Oh wait...

Once again laz shows us that he stoped going to school at age 7. I am assuming that it was not manly enough for him.

Why do you think everyone who does not agree with you has a lesser education than the one your mommy and daddy are paying for you?
Why do you think a less educated person is less intelligent than one who has spent more years in the system?
I have met many "college grads" who are dumber than dirt while some of the brightest are HS grads who, for whatever reason, did not pursue further "education".

Yup.
I was offered a position to supervise a team of case managers after I got out of grad school. every one of them was older, and far more experienced. No sense in me trying to provide supervision to folks only because I earned an advanced degree, and they didnt.
I declined the offer, and never felt better about it. One of them was a vietnam vet who I actually referrerd a client to who also served over there. The system is jacked up.
But Also there's no need to denigrate those of us who did have the opportunity to go on after HS. Some choose to, some don't, and IQ has nothing to do with getting into college.

It was a joke, not to be taken seriously.

Its not the fact that laz dose not agree with me. Its the fact that he dosnt know what you have to memorize in grade school.
(yes i understand the irony of my poor grammer)

I had to search engine it meself. We didn't memorize state flags in school when I was growing up. State capitals, yeah ... but even most of that's fallen by the wayside. I just knew it wasn't a British flag (but it could have quite likely been a former colony - most flags with the union jack on them were). A search on national flags drew no results (though many with the UJ). I also figured it woulda been kinda odd for 10Bears to display a flag of a different nationality anyhow. I figured wth and did a search on state flags and low and behold ... the flag matched the from, so to speak.
The description:
"Hawaii was once an independent kingdom. (1810 - 1893) The flag was designed at the request of King Kamehameha I. It has eight stripes of white, red and blue that represent the eight main islands. The flag of Great Britain is emblazoned in the upper left corner to honor Hawaii's friendship with the British. "

What war ever was "rose pedals"? Bad things happen in war and nobody ever said Iraq was going to be a cake walk.
To even think about pulling out of Iraq because of this is just what insurgents and terrorists love to see, as it validates their methods.
The proper response is coming I'm sure.....a response a John Kerry wouldn't have the brains or ballz to carry out.
The proper response is to demonstrate our resolve and to clean that town up and to find and punish anyone who was involved.

If you spent half as much time studying as you did posting nonsense on these boards, you might have a partial clue....
Kerry's platform is anything he says so long as it gets him elected. If (snowballs chance in hell) Kerry (hereafter known as dip*****) gets elected, it will be back to the old demo habit of forgotten campaign promises, and bigger government. Dip***** is just trying to woo the masses with what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. That is the fundemental problem behind his platform. All these wonderful years of being a senator, and yet to fulfill on anything he promises... guess thats fits as its liberal m a s s h o l e s that keep electing him.
The only good thing the demos are going to bring is welfare to the poor, and destruction of the middle class. If thats good for you, vote Dip*****.

This alone is enough to make me wanna puke. As a member of the Armed Services though, if the President (whomever it may be) ordered a "kiss and make up" operation with Canada and Mexico my bags would be packed and ready to go.
I am so tired of seeing my country get dumped on with all these other countries telling us how evil we are and yet when a disaster happens or if they need econimic loans what is the first country they come to?
As always, we are "evil" if we do and damned if we don't.

Hmm... I recall memorizing state capitals but nothing about state flags... even so.. I will admit that I probly couldn't get every state capital right if pressed. Even tho I have been to most of em. I for sure couldn't get their flags right.
So froggy... if you know all the state flags... I would suggest (in your case at least) that you forget them to make room for learning something important.

Err, I hardly remember any of our state flags.
However, I assumed that the guy was in hawaii because his location says "Waikoloa HI."

state flags (http://www.50states.com/flag/) :)
edit:
never really looked at them, some are pretty gay - mississippi looks racist :)
-
Never thought much about how elaborate most US state flags are relative to Texas'. I never had any problem drawing an accurate picture of my state flag when I was a kid. Guess most others can't say the same.

iron... are you telling me that you didn't know every one of the state flags until now?
and froggy... I may be pretty stupid now but you shoulda seen me when I was your age.... I knew everything.

iron... "I" can help it but.... the lure of voting with the women is too much for most California "men".. my guess is that they put estrogen in the warter in the large population areas and southern Ca.
But don't laugh too loud... every womanly law that is passed here... your women will nag you into voting for.... little bald pony tail sporting 'men" will help them.
People laugh at California and then they lockstep vote for democrats for their own state and federal leaders... un friggin believable... If you want the rest of the country to look like California on a bad weather day...
vote democrat.

everything i see a pic from that movie i have to listen to some credence.

Aw heck...I'm tired of arguing about this.
Let's just surrender, give the Shi-ites 10 days to get out of Iraq, apologize to Saddam and restore him to power, shake hands all around, and pull out.
Then, we could adopt a policy of ignoring every threat, conspiracy, and act of genocide around the world.
Become a "Greater Switzerland" as it were.
Shuckins

Nice .45, had one just like it... speaking of credence...
It was hard for me to listen to them for a long time. I was sick of em... they played in a little bar near me in the late 60's and wore these stupid green pointy hats and caled themselves the pollywogs or gollywogs or something and played the same songs every night... they were very sacarin back then...
I like em again now tho.

laz have you seen that movie? It's funny as hell. "The Great Lebowski"
"we've had reports that a member of your team pulled out a firearm during league play. If this is true it violatates a number of the league's bylaws"
"I told those f*** down at the league office a thousand times that I don't roll on Shabbos! "
