I found a Corsair I didn't have in our local Target. Also on the shelf was a gorgeous Fokker Dr.I, which I didn't buy. They also offer a Spad XIII. What is nice about these is that they have fixed gear and the weak stand can be tossed out. Finally, I'll include a photo of the latest Jug issued as well and a few other minor finds.

This is the Corsair, an F4U-1A to be specific. Look familiar?

This Jug apparently served in the 9th Tactical Air Force in the ETO. It is extremely accurate except for the canopy frame, which is completely wrong. :(

This Mustang was flown by Lt.Col. John Meyer, commander of the 487th FS, 352nd FG. Meyer scored 24 kills in the ETO, and added a pair of MiG-15s over Korea.

This 1/72 scale Gee Bee R1 Super Sport is from Maisto. It won the 1932 Thompson trophy race piloted by Jimmy Doolittle.

I swear mine looks different.
I have both P-51's, Old Crow and Petie 2nd, but I need that P47 you posted above and the P38, along with the the F-86 and the MiG I'd have all of them.

I have a Konica and a Kodak. I used the Kodak CX6330 for these, set at a medium to low resolution of 2.1 megapixals. Pictures where then cropped and resized with Photoshop with density set at 230 dpi.
By the way, Matchbox has added a 20th FG P-38 and a Tuskegee 99th FG P-51D. Pictures of these can be seen in this thread. (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113231)

Local stores usually have some, such as Target, K-B Toys, and Toys-R-Us. You can also find them at theflyingmule.com, but they sell them for $7 more than the above stores. You can also try matchbox.com as well. I haven't seen them in Wal-Mart or K-Mart(Wal-Mart appears to be the national repository for homely and obese housewives tho ;) ).
If you have a K-B outlet store nearby, try them first. I found several of the first editions on their shelves.
Someone asked if the SPAD came painted as shown... Yes it does come that way.

so let criticize :
colour and camo pattern look to be off
fuselage look strange (a bit to flat /square)
In my book there is a checker band on the upper wing

:mad: Now I have to decide whether to buy this one or build the Hasegawa 1/72 kit sitting in its box in the garage with the stack of other kits waiting to be built!
If the Corsair came as the Jolly Rogers bird I'd be all over it.

The Spad XIII is supposed to be Frank Luke's from the 27th Aero Squadron. The markings are broken in a couple of different directions. The camouflage pattern overall is a mix of the pattern used on the Bleriot-built Spad XIII that Luke flew (rear fuselage and tailplane) and the pattern used on the Kellner-built Spad XIIIs (wing and forward fuselage), there should be a black-and-white checkerboard stripe running diagonally left and forward from the rear of the left upper wing near the cockpit, and the blue ring on the engine cowl should be darker.

The source of the error on the paint scheme appears to be the Osprey "Aircraft of the Aces" series volume American Aces of World War I, which depicts Luke's Spad XIII on the cover missing the checkerboard stripe and in the camouflage pattern of the Kellner-built Spad XIIIs.

Corgi is doing a 1/32 scale Mosquito B.Mk XVI.
I am sorely tempted by it. If they do a 1/32 scale Mosquito FB.Mk VI I'll probably not be able to reseist.
