"The Rock' just started it right. That kicked ass. Lets go Racing!
BTW, the '2 weeks' crowd, and 'Left turn 'crowd, group up and and trade clever emails, then stfu.
Thanks in advance.

Texas Motor Speedway is wide-open racing. Very wide track, good grip, leaves the competing up to the drivers. You lose, you can't blame the wall or the apron. I can see why the Indy cars had trouble with drivers blacking out from too many G's.

This track is great now compared to when it first opened. The first 2 years they ran on it, the drivers all hated it because it only had one groove and the transitions in the corners were too steep and it led to very boring racing because there was no place to pass. They spent over 3 million resurfacing it a few years ago and working on the transitions and it has made a world of difference. The drivers love it now and we just may get a second race here in Texas in the future.

I saw the first three Cup races there. I saw Terry Labonte win. I can die in peace now. Great track, great facility.

I have enjoyed every race I've seen at TMS. Traffic on the other hand is a nightmare. I used to drive past there every day on the way to and from work. Forgot about a Craftsman Truck race one Friday night and had to detour 40 miles out of the way to get home. They had cops everywhere making sure you took no backroads.
