Title: X45 shoulder cup friction...
Post by: lasersailor184 on April 04, 2004, 07:41:53 PM
Anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of it?  I'm getting massive amount of skipping as the shoulder and the cup are sticking in some points.

Anything I should be trying?

1st you can reduce the preasure of the cup by putting some zip ties see : http://members.chello.at/dolphin6/mod_spring/

No need to be extreme like in this example.

2nd to lubrificate the cup I've used a small amount of wet soap.
It's cheap and absolutly safe (well provided it's not too wet :D, no need to pour water on your X45 ;))

dry graphite

also compress the spring with a c-clamp when not in use

but best to open a couple of sticks up in the store b4 u buy and make sure you get one that doesn't stick from the get go as they vary

The stick was perfect to start with.  Only recently has it started sticking.

just try the spray...the plastic will start asorbing it ...

Its the best, cleanest lube...for this application it will also
keep that boot under the cup in great condition.
