Title: Talk about being overly sensitive

"State officials in Tennessee pulled a public health ad from the radio waves there after listeners complained that it played to racial stereotypes by mentioning the word watermelon, reports the Nashville Tennessean."

Who doesn't like watermelon?

We gotta get past this type of fear if we're ever gonna have a racially integrated society.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!

Gawdammit that's it! I'm writing to my local Omnibudsman THIS INSTANT!

uhm... nope, nothing there.

I aint feelin' it.

Maybe this will really resonate with Grun, though...  (Grunherz version 2.0 - sensitivity upgrade).

It wasn't what the spot said, it was that Fuzzy Zoeller said it.

Damn, them Negros sure do like watermelon!  And they like fried chicken almost as much as the French like eating babies!

No, no the negroes steal hubcaps.  It's the mexicans who like watermelon.

I thought it was Eskimos that stole hubcaps.

I think it was Eldridge Cleaver who said "You are not really free until you can eat fried chicken and watermelon without feeling like a stereotype."

(paraphrased but close enough).

Fried chicken and watermelon, there really isn't much better eating than that.

Of course I understand that there is a difference in perspective when you're ridiculed about what you eat based on whether it's because of your culture or your race but everyone really oughta try hard to see that it is only ignorant prejudice that would cause some to feel superior by ridiculing another's dietary habits. Let 'em feel superior, just more ribs and watermelon for me.

encouraged listeners to "try baking your chicken, eating a fresh tossed salad on the side and scrumptious watermelon for dessert."

So what's wrong with baked chicken and watermelon?  Sounds like a pretty nice lunch to me.  I'm not a big tossed salad fan, though.  That's stereotyping vegetarians!

Vegetarians. ;)

If you're gonna worry about what people think of what you eat then you oughta just eat something different.

Nothing better than home made pan fried chicken, with fried potatoes, cornbread, iced tea, and a large slice of watermelon for desert during June, July, and August.  Now I'm getting hungry.  PC is stupid.

ALL BOOKS ARE RACIST...

you see by having a white background with black words theres more white than black and therefore the white is more important than the black and therefore is racist...
