Title: TrackIR Revisited
Post by: jodgi on April 05, 2004, 10:51:48 AM
Just found this link on http://www.simhq.com :

Trackmapper (http://kaf.tri6.net/trackmapper/)

Haven't tried it out yet (at work now), but it looks good.

I really like the TIR thing, but there's no way to combine TIR extravaganza with a full six view yet. This may be a passable substitute.

Check it out...

I tried it. Didn't work as well as I'd hoped, maybe my device just doesn't track as well as it should.

I'm working with the author to make it better, hopefully it'll be good when we got full range...

Will keep you posted.

This question actually pertains to the first thread that you posted about the track IR.

I still can't get my track IR to work. I have done everything you said to in your first post and i have the track IR working with tir joy installed but when i go to calibrate it in the virual joystick (ppjoy) it does nothing Please Help i really want to use my Track.

This is not to be used in conjunction with Tir2Joy.
This is an alternative.

I don't know what could be wrong.

What do you mean by "it does nothing"?

The real experts on this thing is to be found at Racesimcentral (see link in original thread) look for "Harle". And maybe help can be found on the Trackir.com boards.

But you really need to give a detailed description of your setup process and problem.

Hi Jodgi, good work on finding something like this!

I have a problem though. Trackmapper seems to identify
my TrackIR drivers as ver 2.0 when they are 3.03 and all tracking
is disabled.
Have you or anyone else stumbled upon the same problems?

Is there a solution to it?

Thank you i will do that. Jodgi you have been most helpful i don't want you to think i am a pain.

By(it does nothing) i mean that when i go in to calibrate in the virtual joystick and i move my head none of the numbers change am i calibrating it wrong? do i have to key in the numbers manually?

It means TIR2 installed, not the driver version.

Are you calibrating in windows control panel, that is what you should do. Make sure TIR is up and running, PPjoy installed and Tir2joy is running and working.

How can i make sure that tir is up and running? I assume you are refering to going into the control panel then game control options and then calibrating the virtual joystick there.

tir2joy will open a window that shows some values. When the values change when you move your head, it's working. You need to start TIR before tir2joy. You need to be in enhanced mode within TIR.
